Cats:
It was Allie's turn to have the run of the cattery last night. There were some toys scattered around the room when I went in to tidy up this morning, but Allie had since finished playing and was snuggled up like a little cat donut in her bed. I gave her a good head scratch before cleaning up her cubby. Later in the morning, I went in to visit Allie and she was right back in her bed having a nap. She got up quickly, though and hopped down onto the window sill. She had a look around outside before heading to the cat tree. She got the zoomies and started to pounce on the scratching post. I got out a couple of toys and Allie's favourite was the long fluffy, dangly one. I flung it around for her for as long as she would chase it. She's certainly a kitten at heart!
Ziggy was all curled up on his bed this morning when I went in to say hello. He got up to roam the room while I tidied his cubby and returned to his favourite spot in the room: the cat tree. Later on when I came back in to see the cats again, Ziggy was having a nap in the cat tree. I woke him up with some head scratches, which he was quite happy to receive. Ziggy climbed down out of his cat tree hidey-hole and did a big stretch on the scratching post. I started to pet him more and he sat down right in front of me so I could have the best scratching angle. When snuggle time was over, Ziggy rolled around at the bottom of the cat tree and swatted at a toy for a little while, but decided he would like some more attention instead.
Groups:
Max and Sadie went tearing off out to the far yard. Sadie was quick to head off to do some serious exploring in the grass while Max just ran around checking out what was going in the yard. Sadie spotted Mocha heading for the gate. She went running after her to see what she was up to. After giving each others a good once over they both returned to the far yard. Sadie headed back out to do some more exploring. She then met up with Issy and had to spend some time checking her over. Max continued to run around the far yard looking for someone to play with. He then noticed Justice back in the main yard. Max went racing over to him to ask him to play. It wasn’t long before they were bouncing around and having a great time. Max then took off racing into the far yard. When Justice split off, Max went to tag along with Sadie to do some exploring in the main yard. Sadie left Max to go and see what Justice was looking at. When Sadie moved on and returned to the far yard, Max went over to Justice to check it out for himself. Max was then hit with the need to play and went tearing off to see about getting Sadie to play with him. It soon turned into Max racing around with Percy. Sadie was then free to return to her explorations. Eventually needing a break Max made his way over to the pool. Unfortunately it wasn't full yet as we were waiting for our turn with the hose. That didn’t stop Max from just standing it. He ended up drawing quite the crowd and soon Sadie and everyone else were hanging out by the pool. After exploring for another little while Sadie headed for the shade and laid down to cool off. Max spotted Magic and the toy she was carrying and soon he was off chasing her around while Percy tagged along. Max and Sadie both hung out in the corner until it was our turn til fill up the pool.
Percy was full of energy as per usual. He went racing out to the far yard with the rest of the group. Percy went running a couple laps around the yard seeing what was going on. He then went charging through the tunnel. With that out of his system, Percy set out to do some exploring in the grass. When Percy noticed that the group was making their way back to the main yard he went running after them. He spent some time trotting around waiting for someone to start running around. Soon Percy was in luck and Max went tearing off around the yard. After running around for a while, Max wanted a break and made his way over to the pool. Percy stood next to it waiting patiently for Max to start running again. He eventually got his wish went Max went tearing off after Magic and her toy. At this point we finally had some water going on in the pool and Percy was quite happy to go and splash around to cool off afterwards.
Issy and Mocha were quick to make their way out to the far yard. They both set out to do some exploring in the grass. Mocha then went to make her way back out to the main yard. Just as she passed through the gate she met up with Sadie. They spent some time checking one another over. Mocha then decided to return to the far yard with her. Next it was Issy who found herself being checked over by Sadie. She let Sadie give her a once over then went trotting off to check out more of the yard. Mocha stood watching what the group was up to. She then decided to make her way to the main yard and the shady area. She started a trend and soon the whole group was back in the main yard, though only Issy, Mocha, and Justice were interested in the shade. After she’d cooled down a bit Mocha left the shade to do a little more exploring. Issy headed back out to the far yard to follow her nose some more. Feeling the need to cool down once more, both Issy and Mocha headed back to the shady section to hang out. Issygot back up after a few minutes and went to sniff some dandelions.
Will was all about the exploring this morning. He headed out to the agility yard and quickly became distracted by something near the entrance and Bandit went over to join him. When Will had seen all he wanted to see, Will went trotting off to check out more of the yard. He went trotting around the yard with his nose just above the ground, stopping only when something really caught his focus. Along the way Will noticed the pool. He went rushing over to it and climbed in. After getting his feet wet, Will went running off to see what some of the others were up to. When his curiosity was satisfied, Will went back to trotting around the yard. After a couple more laps around the yard Will went running back to hop in the pool. Will
was very excited to get to come up for some extra attention. He came
running over to get some pets from me. Will then went around the room
seeing if anything had changed. We then headed outside. I let Will sniff
around for a bit before we got down to business. I asked him for a
couple sits and downs. It took him a little while to focus, but he
eventually did them. Will and I then headed off to work on his heeling.
Bandit was so excited to get outside today, and I can’t blame him it was pretty gorgeous out. He went running out into the yard only to come to a stop when he saw Will checking something out by the gate. After giving it a thorough once over, Bandit went running off to see what the rest of the group was up to and do a little more exploring along the way. Bandit eventually became aware of the pool. He was quick to go running over and climb in. Feeling all refreshed, Bandit went bouncing his way over to Bentley to see if maybe he might want to play. Bentley didn’t really so no, but didn’t really join in either so Bandit ran off to see if Teddy would. They started to bounce around and have some fun when they spotted Kai and Kizmet having fun. They went running over to see about joining in. Bandit then left them to it to return to the pool.
Teddy and Kizmet both set out to do some exploring around the agility yard. Teddy quickly noticed Kai hanging out by the back fence and made his way over to see what she was up to. Even after Kai left, Teddy spent some time looking out beyond the fence trying to figure out what was going on. From my perspective there was nothing, but they found it interesting. Kizmet stood aways back watching Teddy. Eventually he decided to head over and see what his brother was looking at. Teddy did eventually leave the fence and instead made his way over to the open window on the side of the building. He poked his head in and check it out then went to meet up with Kizmet. They spent some time just hanging out together. Kizmet then spotted Kai and went trotting over to see about getting her to play. Teddy followed along at a slower pace. Bandit approached him and asked to play and Teddy didn’t say no. They spent a little bit of time bouncing around. Teddy and Bandit then made their way over to Kizmet and Kai to see about maybe joining in on their fun. It ended up turning into Kizmet being asked to play by Bentley and Bandit asking Kai. Teddy went wandering off to do some more exploring. Eventually the playing took a break and Kizmet also headed back to exploring. Teddy lifted his head up and noticed that the pool was now empty. He was quick to jump in and cool down.
Kai made her way out to the agility yard. From there she made a beeline over to the far corner of the yard. Kai spent some time staring out beyond the fence. Teddy, curious about what she was looking at, went over and joined her. Kai eventually left the corner and headed off to check out some more of the yard. She was very interested in all the grassy portions of the yard. As Kai was going around she met up with me. She was more than happy to take a break from her exploring to get some pets. Once she had had enough, Kai headed out to do some more exploring. Along the way she was pounced on Kizmet. It quickly turned into the two of them having fun wrestling and bouncing around. Their fun caught the eyes of Bandit and Bentley, who came over to join in. Bentley ended up stealing Kizmet away, and though Bandit wanted to play with Kai, she was ready for a break. I noticed she was done playing and called her over to check out the pool. Kai wasn’t quite ready to hop in, but helped herself to a drink before headed out to lay down.
Viggo set out and was very determined to check out the whole yard. He went trotting all over the yard, stopping only when something caught his attention. Viggo then became very interested in something by the building. He headed straight over and spent some time looking in the window. Viggo then made his way over to the fence and spent some time trying to figure out what was going on on the other side of it. Eventually Viggo left the fence and went back to trotting around the yard. Wanting to cool him off I called him over to the pool. It took a little coaxing but eventually Viggo put his front paws in the water. I was happy to give him lots of pets and attention before he went back to following his nose.
Khal was pretty excited to get outside with some friends today. After he had said hello to the others, Khal went trotting out to the far yard to do a little exploring in the grass. Sky went running out to see what Khal was up to. Isis joined in shortly after. Khal then left the girls to their exploring and made his way over to me for some pets and attention. When he’d had enough attention, Khal headed back out to do some more touring of the yards. Khal wasn’t gone long and was soon back at my side wanting more pets.
Maverick and Shyla were both very excited to come in this morning! They ran down the hall with the biggest smiles on their faces and waited until it was time for their walk. During their walk, they both had so much energy and wanted to go off of the trail so badly, it took a while for them to settle down and stay on the path. Not much was different during their group time outside. Maverick took off into the agility yard to start sniffing around as Shyla headed out behind her brother to explore. As Maverick was sniffing along the fence, Shyla kept on walking back and forth from the door and back into the agility yard. Some of the dogs started to follow her and when she noticed them come up behind her she began to get really playful. She started to jump around them and play bow as they did the same to her in return, then they ran back into the agility yard where it caught Maverick's attention and he ran over to see what was going on. Maverick sniffed the dogs but decided to leave Shyla to do all of the heavy playing. Later on when they were all by the door, both Maverick and Shyla were being so cuddly with Alyssa and they gave her lots of love.
Goliath is always such a happy boy. He loves attention and as soon as I came outside he ran up to me and started to follow me around everywhere. I went to where they all were and he stopped to say hi to them with Goliath tagging along. AFter saying hello t everyone, he went over to the fence to have a sniff around in the grass. When Goliath was done exploring and he saw the pool was filled up, he trotted over to check it out. He didn’t hesitate at all and walked right in as Miko ran up behind him to get a look for himself. Goliath swayed in the pool then layed right down on his belly making the water overflow onto the grass. When he got out he was soaking wet and ran up to me as I was sitting on the picnic table. He hopped up onto my legs and gave me kisses before running over to the pool again.
Goliath was such a happy boy during his extra attention. He
peeked through the door of the office and stared at me as I called him
over to come and see me. Immediately his face lit up and jumped up and
put his front two paws on my legs to reach and give me kisses. Unfortunately for me he was all wet from going in the pool earlier, but I didn't mind! I got some treats and he followed me wherever I went up front, once he knew I had them of course. He sat for me and hen laidd
down at first, when I went to sit back down he walked over to the
reception and started to sniff around while saying hi to another dog
named Julie. He then came back over to do some more tricks for me such
as paw before getting more cuddles.
Miko was really interested in the pool as well but could never work himself up enough to jump in it with the other dogs. He was super playful today like usual and ran around with some of the dogs. He played tag for almost the entire time. As he was chasing one of the dogs and they ran into the pool he stopped immediately and waited until they got out to start chasing them again. When he wasn’t playing tag you could find Miko over where all of the dogs have dug holes in the dirt, Miko was continuing on from where they left off but he was so small compared to the size of the hole that he fit in it completely. It was super cute watching Miko sit in the hole like a little bunker as he watched the other dogs. He jumped out and ran off to play some more before we headed back inside.
Merlin and Pippin had such a nice day out in the yard. Pippin ran off as soon as he got outside and headed over towards the shade to hang around there for a bit as all of the others dogs went to play. Merlin was full of energy and was bouncing around me in circles as I was trying to make it out the door. After I gave him a treat, he went off to go and see the other dogs in the grass yard. He walked around for a little while and said hi to them when Pippin decided to start exploring himself. He trotted over to where Merlin was and walked along the grass until he met up with him. They exchanged sniffs when Merlin decided that he wanted to play with Pippin. All of a sudden I saw them both jump up on each other as they were standing on their two feet then hopping back down. They kept on doing this until Pippin started to run in the other direction and Merlin chased after him. Pippin decided to take a quick break from playing while Merlin went and dipped his feet in the pool to cool off.
Bella was very calm out in the yard today. She kept to herself mostly where as Jake was the complete opposite. They got outside and both ran into the further grass yard to start sniffing around. Bella only walked around for a couple minutes before she ran over to me to say hi; she’s such an affectionate girl and loves her cuddles and kisses. As I crouched down to pet her she backed up between my legs and stayed there as she wiggled her body for more scratches. Jake kept on wandering around the yard as he started to watch some of the other dogs play. He didn’t join in at first and just stayed near them as they ran around. He kept on walking up close to them and trying to sniff them as they weren’t looking. Eventually he started to get in the mood to play and spent some time running around with Maya. Meanwhile, Bella walked back over to the door to go and relax in the shade. Bella started to socialize with the other dogs as we hung out in the shade. Jake was still running around the yard not wanting to finish his game of tag just yet.
Maya came in on her own this morning instead of with her favorite older pal Rocky. She still had fun with her other friends outside though and it didn’t stop her from having a great day! When Maya first got outside she ran into the further yard and started to sniff around the agility tunnel, she then made her way to the corner of the yard where she sniffed the rocks for a little while before heading back over to see all, of the dogs. She watched them play for a while and then decided to take off. She walked over by the door where she watched all of the others from a distance. After a little bit she couldn’t help herself and ran back over again, and this time Harvey was all over her asking to play.
Harvey is just a puppy and is such a happy and free spirited boy, he was the center of attention today out in the yard as everyone was loving his energy and just wanted to play with him. He first began to play with Timbits and they wrestled around the yard for a good while before he sparked an interest in Maya. Those two played so rough but they both loved it as they chased each other from one side of the yard to the other. Maya hopped in the pool before we went back inside to cool off as Harvey went over to take a drink out of the water. Harvey had so much fun with the rope toys during play time. He played some tug of war with the other dogs and with me.
Timbits was so playful today, just like he usually is. His high energy was rubbing off on Coco as they were in their kennel together today. Whenever I walked by they were bouncing around together. When they got outside they both ran as fast as they could to the grass yard to begin to explore. Timbits followed Coco along the fence until they reached a spot of tall grass. Coco seemed to be so interested in it that he spent a while just sniffing around it and digging it up. Timbits stayed for a bit and joined him then ran over to go and play with Harvey. Those two got along so well since they’re both so playful. The two of them bounced around the yard in circles as Coco stayed by the fence. When Coco saw how much fun they were having, she ran over to join in. She chased Timbits at the same time as Harvey was and the three of them were having a blast as some of the other dogs walked over to either try and join in or just watch. Timbits and Coco then ran off on their own and began to wrestle around the grass. Timbits is so rough with her but she always knows when to put him in his place and Timbits usually listens.
