Maya and Rocky were still kind of sleepy when I first saw them but once they realized it was walk time they both perked up right away and couldn't wait to go. Maya ran out before I could put her leash on and began running back in forth in the hallway in excitement. Rocky, being the calmer of the two, waited patiently for the leash before running out. Once everything got settled we went for an amazing walk where Maya ran ahead to scope out the terrain for her brother since he fell behind a little. They both really enjoyed the walk and had lots of fun checking out the trails. When walks were done, it was time to join the others in outdoor play. Maya was still very excited even after our walk and immediately tried to find a playmate. She searched everywhere for for someone who would play with her but the other dogs seemed more inclined to explore the yard, that is until she found Flora. While this was going on, Rocky decided the nice cool day would be perfect for taking a nap and he decided to spread out on the rocks and snooze. Maya was so happy that she ran around with her new best friend for the rest of the time and just like Rocky she had so much fun.
Cooper is just so adorable with his little hairdo and every time I see him I can't help but smile as he runs over for some cuddles. I first saw him today when it was time for groups and he came running out of his kennel. He ran past me but then stopped when he realized I was there, and since he is so sweet he turned around and ran back over to me to be pet. Once he was happy with the cuddles he got, we went out with the others. When we first got outside, Cooper thought it would be fun to go and explore with the rest of his friends. He had lots of fun sniffing around the yard but he just couldn't resist the urge to come get cuddles so he came back over to me with his pals Keegan and Rocky. Cooper, being the leader of their group, came right over and stood on my leg so I could pet him. He had so much fun with all of his friends and he especially loved all the attention.
Keegan is a ball of energy and when he gets excited over something you can tell because he barks in excitement and runs in circles around his kennel. I opened the door to his kennel and he ran out as quickly as he could and ran straight to the door to go outside. When we got outside he ran around the yard in excitement with his nose stuck to the ground, trying to smell as much as he could as he ran by. Once he was happy with what he had smelled and seen, he went and wandered around with his pal Cooper. They walked around together and watched Flora and Maya play, but Keegan being the energetic boy he is, thought they were having lots of fun so he went and joined their game. When he got tired he came and joined Cooper, Rocky and I, where he got lots of cuddles which made him really happy.
Flora was so excited to get outside today and catch up with her pal Maya, who she had played with yesterday. She raced out the door and ran around the yard trying to find her friend, and after a while she finally found Maya. They went in circles around each other sniffing the other as a way of saying hello again before running off to play. Flora bounced around excitedly as Maya chased her around the yard. They switched who was chasing the other a few times before Keegan joined in and began chasing Flora while Maya watched. Flora absolutely loved all of the others that she got to play with and she had a lot of fun today.When all the playing was done she went and explored around the yard and took in all the cool new scents that the rain was bringing with it.
Apple and Sky were very cute in their pajamas today and they looked very cozy even in the kind of chilly weather. They were both excited to get outside today and Apple couldn't wait to see the cool new things that she only saw quickly while on her walk. Sky was a little slower getting out because he had just woken up from a nice nap. Apple had her nose to the ground the entire time we were outside and was having such a great time trying to find the scent that filled her senses. She searched high and low for the source of the smell but in the end just couldn't seem to identify where it was coming from. Sky watched his sister from afar while doing his own searching. He was searching for something that he could use to scratch his back because he just had this itch that he couldn't get by himself. Finally he found a rock that was perfect and he began rubbing himself against it. He was so happy when the itch was gone and for the rest of the time he had fun walking around exploring the yard.
Batman was having a nice little snooze when I walked into the hallway to let him out into the yard. He walked out into the yard and was surprised when he felt little rain drops hitting his head, but that didn't stop him from being excited about getting to play with his friends. At the start, he ran around by himself taking in his surroundings and then all of a sudden he came across Glory and he couldn't help but want to play with her. He ran around with Glory for a long time and every now and then they would stop to bounce around and wrestle for a little while before going back to chasing each other. Batman had so much fun with Glory and also had a lot of fun running around exploring the yard today.
Maverick and Shyla are both just too cute and I couldn't help but go into their kennel to see them this morning. Maverick, being the big cuddle bug that he is, came right over with his tail wagging for me to pet him. Shyla took it a little slower at first but after a while came over for me to pet her and she also licked my face a few times too before going back to sleep. After that I saw them again for group time and Maverick was very excited to get outside so that he could see his friends. He ran around for a little while and then met up with Fez who just came in today, and Maverick being the playful boy that he is, thought Fez would like to play too but Fez was having a nice time roaming the yard so Maverick set back out in search of a playmate. He went and played by himself which he didn't mind and thought was fun. Shyla was very playful today and went to Batman and Glory and played with them for a little while before running off to run around by herself. They both had such a great day today playing with other and getting cuddles this morning.
Kai had so much fun today playing with the others and also coming over for lots of cuddles with me during group time. Kai started her time outside off by going around the yard with her friends to take in all the different smells that the rain was bringing with it. She had fun following her nose until it led her to her friend, Amira. The pair kept each other company as they roamed around the yard and followed their noses. They both came over to see me a few times for some cuddles and Amira was very happy with the extra attention and even sat at my feet so I would pet her. She had such a great day today and I loved being able to spend time with her.
Fez and Rex came in this morning and right as Rex stepped into the back it was time for him to go on a walk with his new pal Birdie. He had so much fun getting to know her and loved all the cool new smells on the trails that weren't there the last time he was in. After my walk with Rex, I got to go see Fez who was very excited to have some company. He got lots of cuddles while I was with him and his tail was wagging in delight as I pet him. Once that was done it was time for groups and first up was Fez. He had lots of fun outside just wandering around taking in the cool smells that were scattered around the yard. He also spent some of his time greeting the other dogs who kept trying to play with him and then went back to exploring. Next up was Rex, who was very excited to see that his friend Birdie was in his group. He ran around with her and played with Birdie, Charlotte and Millie. He played with them and wrestled playfully which he thought was very fun. They both had a great first day today and were very happy with their groups.
Viggo and I first saw each other this morning when I made my way over to his kennel so that I could take him for a walk with his friend Charlotte. On our walk he pranced around happily enjoying the cool scenery of the trail. While on the walk, he took some time to sniff around and see what had been roaming around all night long. When that was done it was time to go for a nap until outdoor group time with all of his friends. Finally it was time to go and see all of his friends and Viggo couldn't be more excited. He ran straight outside and waited for everyone to join him. He greeted them all happily and followed as they ran around searching around the yard for this interesting smell. Viggo relentlessly searched for the source of the smell. By the end of group time he hadn't found it but he still thought it was a lot of fun.
Charlotte and Sophie had such a great day today and it was so much fun spending some one on one time with the both of them. I first got to spend some time with Charlotte when I took her on a nice long walk with her pal Viggo. She had lots of fun running around and smelling the trail which had some cool new scents that weren't there yesterday. Once walks were done she got to go back and see Sophie who was very excited to see her little sister. I gave Sophie a pat on the head before leaving them to play together. I saw them both again when it was group time and boy were they both excited to get out into the yard. Charlotte ran out to see her friends who were waiting to play with her while Sophie went and wandered around by herself. Charlotte had a lot of fun running around with her friends and wrestling with them. Sophie had fun too while doing her own thing and coming over every now and then to get some cuddles from me.
Birdie and I had an exciting morning this morning when we got to go for a walk together with her new friend Rex. Birdie was very excited to meet him and ran around on leash to show her excitement. They both had lots of fun meeting each other and also taking the time to smell the path and explore through the grass. Birdie, being the great pointer she is, couldn't help but get excited when she heard ducks quacking in the distance. After a lovely walk it was time to go out and play with her friends. She was very excited and loved it when Millie and Charlotte included her in their game of chase and wrestling. She had such a great time running around and rolling on the ground when she would get pinned and then jumping back up and running after someone else.
Millie is such a cutie and also so full of energy which is really cute, especially when she gets to walk with her friends. Today on our walk she was with her friend Lola and the two really loved having each others company. Millie ran around the whole time and thought all smells on the path were very cool. When walks were over it was time to go play off leash with her friends in the yard which made her really excited. Millie ran right out and found Charlotte, her best friend, who loves playing just as much as she does. They ran around together and wrestled with each other which they thought was fun. They then got to play with another friend who joined in which made their game even better. At lunch time Millie came up front for some extra attention and an extra walk which made her very happy and she also got to sit on my lap while I wrote the Pet Journal.
Cats:
It's nice to have Daisy's calm and happy energy in the cat room. I saw her this morning and gave her lots of ear scratches which she really enjoyed and then we roamed around the room for a little while together while I tried to get her to chase the laser pointer. She didn't go after it but instead went onto the little shelf at the window and watched all the excitement outside. She lay down on the windowsill facing me so I went and gave her more attention which she really liked. When all her cuddles were done she decided to take a nap at the window where there would be an awesome view when she woke up.
