Groups
Cooper was full of energy. As soon as we got outside he was bouncing around my legs asking for lots of attention and pets. Once he'd had enough, we went walking further into the yard. Cooper then made his way out to the far yard to do some exploring. He noticed the pool back in the main yard. Cooper went trotting over had a sip then hopped in. This caught the eye of Bogart, Monte and Simon. Cooper then hopped out so the others could have some time in the pool. He headed off to do some more exploring. Cooper didn't stay away long and was soon back to me for more pets.
Bogart were so excited to see me when we got outside. After Bogart had enough love we were ready to head out further into the yard. Bogart went off to see what Flora was up to. That done he then made his way over to the pool. Bogart wasn't quite sure what to make of it so helped himself to a quick drink then went trotting off to see what Simon, Monte, and Tessa were up to. He then moved onto just trotting around the yard. Bogart then spotted Cooper playing in the pool. He made his way over, still unsure about going in. I ended up helping him and Bogart decided he rather quite liked it. After getting nice and cool he headed off to do some more exploring.
Simon, Monte and Tessa headed right out to the far yard to do some exploring. Monte then realized Bogart had joined them and went over to say hello. Tessa became curious and went trotting over to say hello as well. Monte went running back to Simon to resume trotting around with him. Tessa then left Bogart to go and check out some things by the fence. When Tessa was done checking out the fence she came trotting over to me for some pets. Simon didn't want to miss out on this whole Bogart thing and was next in line to meet the puppy. He said his hellos then rejoined Monte. The two headed off to do some more exploring. Monte and Simon then noticed Cooper splashing around in the pool. They decided to make their way over and see what he was up to. Simon and Monte spent some time staring at the pool debating on what to do. Simon seemed a little more curious so I helped him out and placed him in. He ended up quite liking it and even laid down to get nice and wet. Tessa had made her way over and was watching her brothers' antics. Monte finally worked up the courage and joined his brother in the pool. They spent a little bit more time in the pool then went to joined Tessa and do some more exploring together. Towards the end of group when the pool was empty, Tessa went over and climbed up. She leaned over the edge and checked it out but decided not to hop in.
Will couldn't wait to get outside for his group time. He went bouncing around saying hi to the rest of the group, then headed off to do a little exploring in the far yard. The rest of the group made their way into the grassy yard. Will was determined to check out the far yard very thoroughly. When he'd seen all he wanted to he joined us in the grassy yard. Will went running around to do some more exploring. He then spotted Kodiak and Justice hanging out by the pool and had to go over to see what they were up to. Will checked out the water conditions, but decided not to join Kodiak in the pool. He then went trotting off to continue exploring. Will ended up in a section of grass full of dandelions and looked quite picturesque so of course I took a bunch of pictures.
Chigo was super excited to go outside today during his group. He ran out the door and followed all the dogs into the agility yard. Once he was there he began to roam around and say hi to everyone who was outside with him. He only sniffed the dogs quickly because he wanted to go off on his own to explore. He took off and started to sniff around the outdoor kennel by the tall grass. Colin ran up to him to say hi. As soon as Colin ran up to him, Chigo seemed immediately intrigued and he began to follow him around the yard, Colin was unsure at first as he was being chased and kept his distance. Once they both stopped running, they turned to each other and Chigo play bowed to let Colin know that he wanted to play. Colin was getting really excited as he was running around him in circles and started to bark at him. He did this while running in circles with him so he was always in sight. When Chigo started to wrestle with him, Colin played for a little while then had enough and ran off to go explore elsewhere. Chigo then took off on his own to see the other dogs. I found a toy on the ground and got Chigo's attention with it to try and start a game of fetch with him. I waved it in the air to get his attention and he sat politely as he waited for me to throw it for him. Once I threw it he ran as fast as he could after it across the yard then began to sniff it. He sniffed it for a while then picked it up to show it off to all the dogs. Meanwhile, Colin kept to himself and wandered around the yard some more, when I called him over to me he started to bark as he ran over then held his head down for me to pet it.
Maggie had a quiet, restorative day today. She trotted out with all the dogs and into the agility yard then began to roam around. She started to sniff along the rocks and explore as all of the others socialized with each other. After she was done sniffing she walked over near me and held her head up high as she was staring at the sky; she watched all the birds as they flew by and didn't take her eyes off of them until she noticed that some of the dogs were playing. It was the perfect opportunity for a little spectator sports and Maggie sat on the sidelines and was greatly entertained by the other dog's antics.
Charlotte was full of energy this morning. She's always bouncing around in her kennel just waiting to for the next time she can go outside while Lucy is snuggled up in her bed taking a nap. During groups Charlotte was excited as I opened up her kennel door and ran down the hall and out the door before anyone had the chance to go ahead of her. Lucy followed quietly behind and stopped at some of the kennels to say hi to the other dogs that weren't in her group. Once they got outside, Charlotte ran off and began to run around the yard. She kept on coming up to me and saying hi while shoving her head in my lap for me to pet her. She gave me so many sweet kisses and wiggled her body each time. She then took off to go explore, running to the pool and walking around it while sniffing. She took one step in then hopped back out and ran to the door. I guess the water wasn't her thing. Lucy stayed in the shade mostly. Every now and then she would walk over and roam around the yard for a bit without going too far to do her business. She sniffed along the rocks and enjoyed herself until the sun got a bit too strong and she wisely headed back into the shade. Meanwhile Charlotte still had lots of energy in her and this girl ran around playing with the other dogs in her group.
Kai and Ranger were both very happy to go outside with their group today. Ranger came in this morning for daycare with a big smile on his face. He hung around up front for a bit with us as he got lots of cuddles from everyone before we brought him back to his kennel. During his walk he started off slow and kept a steady pace as it was very hot. We took our time as we walked along the trail and came back so he could take a nice cool nap before it was time to go back outside for his group. Kai ran outside and greeted everybody, as happy to socialize as always. As she walked around to explore she kept on stopping to sniff some of the toys on the ground, but it was too hot to get too excited. After she was done exploring, Kai made her way to to one of the holes that have been dug in the dirt to continue it and make it even bigger. She lowered her face deep in the hole to sniff it first then began to make it as deep as she could before it was time to go back inside. Ranger took his time to wander around outside. He enjoyed coming up to me to be pet when he wasn't busy sniffing or exploring. He sure takes exploring seriously and nothing could distract him from his mission. Since there is a hole in the pool, we couldn't fill it, but there was still a bit of water at the bottom and that was just enough for Ranger as he splashed around in it then laid right down to get his belly wet before going back inside.
Extra Attention
Will got so excited when I went to get him for his extra attention time. He went racing off to the front of the building. Will did a couple tours of the room checking everything out, seeing if anything had changed. That done he went over to get some pets and cuddles from Alyssa. When he'd had enough from her Will came and got some from me. Will then left me to go and play a little bit of tug with Alyssa. When they were done playing they ended up on the floor with Will getting lots of belly rubs.
