Groups:

Max and Sadie were ready to enjoy this beautiful day. Max was quick to race off to the far yard to see what was going on out there. Sadie took her time to do a tour of the main yard before joining her brother. Max made his way over to Tasha to see what she was looking at. Wit that done he made his way back over to Sadie. Sadie happened to be hanging out by a good rolling spot, so Max threw himself to the ground and did just that. He was flailing so much he almost took out Sadie a couple times. When Max had had enough of rolling he was ready to play. He spotted Boris trying to get Ricky to play. Max went racing over but was distracted by Tasha who was now running around. Sadie was next to head over to Boris and Ricky to watch their antics. Not too long after, Max and Sadie headed off to do some exploring. Max was soon finished exploring and so turned his attention to Sadie and asked her to play. They were soon racing around the yard at top speeds. Boris joined in for a short while until he was stolen away by Tasha.

Tasha and Boris wasted no time in making their way out the far yard. They split up to cover more ground and set off to see if anything had changed since yesterday. Boris was quick to give up on exploring to set off running around the two yards. He met up with Ricky who he then asked to play. Boris bounced around Ricky and occasionally whacked him with a paw trying to get him to play. Ricky wasn’t quite ready to play yet and so they ended up heading off to do a little exploring. Boris only lasted about a minute before he was back to asking Ricky to play some more. Tasha started to feel frisky and went ripping around the yard on her own. Boris and Ricky were joined by Sadie who then decided to just stand by and watch. A little while later it was time for a break and everyone split up and headed out to do some exploring. Boris’s exploring was interrupted when he saw Max and Sadie racing around. He went charging after them not wanting to miss out on the fun. Tasha saw this, went chasing after Boris and snagged him away so he’d play with her instead.

Percy was full of energy today. He was happy to make a new friend, Charlotte, and to see some old friends. Percy went to go running out to the yard, but then decided to hang out with Charlotte and Will for a bit of exploring. Since Percy can only stay stationary for so long he was soon running around the yard debating on what he wanted to do next. He spotted Daytona and Talledaga playing with each other and decided to referee and run around with them. Percy then left them to see what everyone else was up to. Along the way he found a toy that he was more than happy to snatch up and run around with. Percy then left his toy to go and join Will over in the grassy section to do some exploring. He only kept his nose down for a moment, though, before he went to run around with the huskies some more.

Issy and Mocha were the first to make their way out to the agility yard. Issy was solely focused on checking out the yard while Mocha spent a little time checking out whatever caught her attention then went to say hello to the rest of the group. Once Mocha had said hello to everyone and was done with the agility yard, she went trotting off to take up her customary position by the door where she could soak up some sunshine. Issy was still all about the exploring, until she met up with Daytona. She was quite happy to bounce around with him for a little while. When Daytona went off to play with his brother, Issy found herself alone, but not for long. Will went over say hi. Issy was immediately smitten by him and started to bounce around him wanting to play. When they needed a break, Issy headed off to say hello to some of the other dogs before returning to her explorations.

Charlotte was a little shy on her first day at dayare. When she got outside and said her hellos to the other dogs she started to open up a little bit. The other dogs were all very interested in saying hello to Charlotte since she was new to the group. When that was out of the way she wet off to do a little exploring with Percy and Will. Charlotte then left the boys to go and see what Mocha was doing. Shortly after she found herself as the object of Glory’s attention. Percy and Brokk soon joined, but they didn’t stick around long. Glory and Charlotte then decided to hang out with me for a while and enjoy lots of pets. They eventually left me and Charlotte headed out to see what some of the others were up to.

Will was rather happy to be back outside this morning. He went trotting out to the yard to say hello to everyone. Will was happy to meet Charlotte, the new addition to the group. Once he’d said hi to everyone he went trotting off to check out the yard and see if anything had changed. Along the way he met up with Issy, who took an instant liking to him and demanded that he play with her. He didn’t object and they had fun bouncing and running around, until Will felt the need to set off and do some more exploring. Will ended up over in the grassy section of the yard, where he was then joined by Percy. After giving it a very thorough once over, he was hit with the need to run around and did just that. Will then stopped by to have a visit with me to get some pets and loving.

Shyla and Maverick made their way out to the agility yard. When they got out there, Maverick was quick to put his nose to the ground and start checking things out. Shyla set off to trot around the yard inspecting as much as she could visually before she used her nose. Maverick made his way out and met up with Riley. They headed over to the rocks by the lounge where they very thoroughly investigated them. Shyla, curious as to what they were up to, headed over to check it out.
She only stayed for a moment, though, before setting off across the yard once more. She ended meeting up with Brenyn. They walked around together for a little while before splitting up. After doing a little more exploring Maverick was starting to really want to play. He met up with Brenyn and soon they were off racing around the yard. Shyla was quick to tag along and after a little while so did Riley. Eventually everyone needed a bit of a breather. Maggie went trotting over to check on them and Shyla decided she quite liked her.

Maggie seems pretty happy to be back today! She went trotting off into the yard to see who all was in her group. When that was done, Maggie set off to do a little exploring. She went around the yard a couple times and then found herself checking out a section of rocks but the fence. A little while later, Maggie was joined by Riley. She continued to explore after he left, but once Maverick, Shyla, Brenyn, and Riley started to race around, Maggie had to go check it out. She ran and ran until everyone needed a break so Maggie spent a bit of time with Shyla. Brenyn came to join the girls and soon enough Maggie took off running once again with Brenyn hot on her heels.

Riley started his morning off with some exploring. He entered the agility yard and was almost immediately entranced by the rocks near the entrance. Riley spent quite some time giving them a good once over. Once he was done, Riley meandered his way over to the rocks by the lounge. He was soon joined by Maverick and Shyla. Riley left the rocks when he spotted me trying to get Brenyn to jump over the agility jump. He came trotting over more than happy to do just that. Riley even threw the tunnel in. Once Riley was done with the agility equipment he went and joined Maggie in another section of rocks. A little while later, some of the others were playing in the tunnel so Riley just had to go and show off his skills.

Kai was being such a good girl today with everyone in her group, especially Kyah. At first when she got outside she started off by wandering the yard to explore. She only walked around for a short period of time before she noticed Kyah from across the yard. Kyah was digging her nose in one of the holes that some of the dogs dug up and Kai ran over to her and began to sniff her to say hi. They were both very intrigued by each other right off the bat and followed each other everywhere. When they split up to wander elsewhere it wasn’t long before they met up again. When Kyah began to play with the energetic dogs it motivated Kai to join in as well. Kai played tag with everyone and ran from one side of the yard to the next while trying to catch up to Kyah, she only stopped when everyone ran through the agility tunnel. Kai would watch as the others ran through the tunnel and was right back in the chase once they came out the other end.

Maya was the most playful girl in her group today, not that it’s surprising! Maya always has the tendency to be very energetic and playful whenever her best pals are in. She was very eager to go outside and waited at the door panting until I opened it. She was the first one to run out and she made her way all the way to the far yard before everyone even got a chance to walk out the door. When she was outside, Maya began to run around and play with the more playful dogs while Rocky and Miko began to explore. Maya was so persistent about playing and didn’t stop even for a second. She started off by playing tag, then ran over to help some of the dogs dig, then started playing tag again. It wasn’t until it was almost time to go back inside that she took a break to do her business. Rocky was excited to go outside as well. He walked out onto the gravel then made his way along the fence to sniff around, he stayed in the shade at first and didn’t go in the sun until I went up to give him some cuddles and to pet him. As I was petting him he relaxed right on the spot and made himself really comfortable by rolling over onto his back. His little legs were sticking straight up and he stayed just like that while I rubbed his belly. He seemed so happy to get all this attention and when I got up he started to follow me into the main yard, then stopped on the grass to do some more exploring on his own. Miko is usually very playful with the other dogs when he comes in but today during groups he seemed to be a little more quiet and he kept to himself. As the other dogs were running around in the far yard he followed behind them but then took off to do some exploring on his own, he kept his nose to the ground as he began to sniff up the grass. He made sure to stop by whatever he saw, whether it was a big rock, a toy or even a hole that was dug to scope it out and smell it. When the others started to run around him he popped his head up really fast and started to watch them as they played. He was much too busy sniffing around and coming to see me for pets to want to join in today.

Keegan and Cooper are both such free spirited dogs and love to do whatever they want while they’re outside in their group. As soon as we all walked out the door, Keegan ran off to the further yard to do his business while Cooper chased after him. Cooper stopped when he was halfway there and turned around to come and see me. Cooper just loves attention and would love to be pet all day if he could. When he ran up to me he would jump up on my legs unless I was kneeling down, in which case he would hop up on my lap and give me lots of kisses. When he was done he ran over to find Keegan who was wandering around the grass and saying hello to everybody. They chased each other in a circles for a second before splitting up and running in different directions. Keegan though it was a good idea to run over to the gravel and roll around on all the rocks. He jumped up off of the ground right after he realized how grass would feel much better to lay on. Cooper saw how much Keegan was rolling around and decided to try it out for himself and the two of them started doing it together.

Olive was being such a sweet girl outside. She came up to me right away as I was kneeling down and hopped up to put her front paws on my leg and give me a kiss. She ran around Julie a few times then went up and began to sniff her for a little while as she stood there trying to sniff Olive back, but before she got the chance, Olive took off into the further yard to start exploring in the grass. She wandered around for a little while and stuck her head in some of the big holes that have been dug up. I noticed that she loves to lift her head up and stare at the sky as the wind blows on her, which she did quite a few times today. When she saw how Cooper and Keegan were rolling on the ground, Olive thought it would be a cool idea to give it a try so she laid down and began to roll around while scratching her head on the grass. I walked up to her and started to pet her belly as she was laying in the sun. She had a huge smile on her face and laid there as still as a statue until I got back up.

Apple and Sky were so sweet on their walk this morning, Apple was especially excited to go outside as she was jumping up and down at the door of her kennel. Sky was fast asleep and woke up as soon as I opened the door. They both trotted along the path right beside each other the entire time; they only stopped to sniff some of the long grass by the side of the trail. During their group outside they both went off on their own to explore like they always do. Sky kept to himself and walked along the rocks in the further yard by the fence. Apple started sniffing on the grass then made her way over to see Sky. She made sure to run up to him every now and then to see what he was doing. Sky didn’t mind, of course, since they like having each other as company. I was trying to get Apple to play with me a bit and I grabbed a plastic bone and started to run around her while waving it in the air like I was about to throw it. It got her attention for a bit but instead of playing with it she thought it was fun enough to bounce around the yard on her own in circles. I never knew how fast she was! When I walked back to the door they both followed right behind me. When I stopped and was kneeling on the ground, Sky ran up and gave me lots of kisses out of nowhere! He hopped up and put his legs on me which almost knocked me over even though he’s so tiny.

Training:
Since Tasha went for her training first yesterday, I started with Boris today. We did all of our work outside since it’s such a nice day! Boris paid attention the whole way down the hallway towards the door and sat very nicely every time we stopped. Once we got outside I started to mix things up for his structured walk. I changed my pace drastically, switching between a very slow walk to a light jog, and Boris matched me no matter how fast or slow I went. He’s really got the hang of heeling. I mixed in some ‘sits’ and ‘downs’ as well because although he’s a master at sitting, sometimes he’s reluctant to lay all the way down. When we made our way back inside, I did some more ‘doggy push-ups’ in the reception area to keep Boris focused on going from sitting to laying down and back again. He did a great job by the end of our time together.

Tasha was very eager to go for her training by the time I came back to the kennel with her son. She could smell the treats in my pocket which meant she was ready to focus right off the bat. Tasha and I followed a similar routine to what I had just done with Boris. First we did a structured walk with some ‘sits’ and ‘downs’ thrown in to mix it up. We also walked at different paces to keep Tasha focused on what was coming next. She was a little bit too eager a couple of times so we worked on being patient and not jumping up for the treats. When we made it back to the lawn, Tasha and I did lots of ‘doggy push-ups’ and practiced waiting for treats patiently.
