Monte and Simon went trotting off to do
some exploring around the yard. Simon then stopped to spend some time with
Benji near the gate. They were both intrigued by some grass growing there.
Monte continued on his way out to the far yard. He went running over to
Timbits. They checked each other over, bounced around a bit, and then split up
to check out different parts of the yard. Simon left
Benji and went racing
around the yard with his ears flying out behind him. He came tearing over to me and hopped up
onto one of the bigs rocks. Monte came running over to hop up with him and Timbits
went running over to see what they were up to. Monte hopped down so he and
Timbits could start racing around. Simon left the rock and came and climbed up
on my lap. He was then content to watch his brother’s antics. With it being so
hot out today, Monte and Timbits didn’t run around for long. They then headed off to do some
exploring together. Simon, not wanting to miss out on anything interesting, went
running after them. Shortly after we headed inside to cool down in the
playroom. Monte was quite excited to see all the toys and ran around picking
them up then putting them down, only to pick up a different toy. Simon ran
around for a little while not quite sure what he wanted to do. He then decided
he really just wanted love and made his way over to me to get that. Monte
eventually left his toys and went to see if Benji wanted to play. The two of
them were soon having a blast wrestling and running around.
Tessa took it nice and easy considering it was fairly warm out today. She went to go do some exploring around the yard. When Tessa left the shade she quickly
changed directions and headed back into the shady area. She went around checking out
what she could then decide to just sit and relax with Julie so I made my way over
for a visit. Tessa came trotting over to me and asked for lots of love. We were
soon making our way into the indoor playroom where it was nice and cool. Tessa watched the others for a
little while before decided that she really just wanted more love and
attention. I took turnes cuddling with both Tessa and with Simon. After a little while
Tessa noticed Timbits hanging out on the cot. She went trotting over to see
what he was up to.
Like Tessa, Coco was taking a chance to relax in this hot weather. She made her way outside and quickly decided that she wanted to stick to the shady section. Coco went around with her nose to the ground checking out all she could while still remaining in the shade. Once Coco had seen everything she could, she went to spend some time with Lola, who was enjoying sunbathing. Coco eventually figured that maybe sunbathing wasn’t such a bad idea. She sat herself next to Lola and the two of them just hung out, soaking up the sun. When we headed inside for indoor play, Coco was pretty happy. She went around checking out all the toys. She eventually found one she liked and settled down for a good chew.
Timbits couldn’t wait to get outside. He
was so ready to play and have fun! Timbits went tearing out around the yard, but quickly stopped and
switched to exploring. He then met up with Monte. They spent some time checking
each other over before starting to bounce around. The playing didn’t last too
long and soon they split up to do some exploring in different parts of the
yard. Timbits then noticed Monte and Simon hanging out on one of the big rocks.
He went trotting over to see what they were up to. Monte ended up hopping down
and soon he and Timbits were off racing around. Once again they got hot quickly
and so they decided to head out and do some exploring together. After going
around the far yard the two of them headed out to the main yard with Simon tagging
along. Since it was so warm, we headed into the playroom to have some cooler playtime.
Timbits was so excited to be inside with all the toys. He went tearing around
trying to decide what he wanted to do. Timbits settled on a red toy and went
running around with it. As he was running Timbits spotted a rope toy. He ditched
the red toy and snatched up the rope toy. Timbits then watched as I put down
another cot. He went bouncing over and hopped on.
Benji said his hellos to me then went
running off to explore; he seemed happy to be back today! He didn’t make it further than the gate when he became
very interested in some grass growing by the fence. Simon went over and joined
Benji. The two of them spent some time checking it over very thoroughly.
Eventually Benji was done and went trotting out to explore more of the far
yard. He went all the way around the yard with his nose to the ground. When
Benji had seen all he wanted to see, he decided to make his way back to the
main yard where Coco and Lola were hanging out. He spent some time with them
then returned to exploring. I made my way over to visit with him. Benji was
happy to get some pets and attention. We then made our way inside to the
playroom. Benji looked around the room for a little while until he met up with
Monte and the two of them started to wrestle and race around having a great
time.
Chigo went trotting out to see all of what
was going on in the yard. After touring around the main yard he headed out to
the agility yard. Chigo continued his investigating and went all around the
yard stopped to check out anything that caught his eye. One thing that ended up
catching his eye was the pool that was about half full and still filling up. Chigo
spent some time watching before eventually decided he wanted to dip his toes in the pool.
He climbed in slowly. Chigo pretty much spent the rest of our time outside in
the pool. We headed into the playroom early due to the heat. Once in the
playroom and much cooler, Chigo was ready to play. He was so excited about all
the toys. I showed him a couple, but they weren’t quite right. Chigo eventually
settled on the blue and white rope toy. He shook it around and had a great time
all by himself. Chigo then brought it over to me so we could have a game of
tug. He of course won. He then left me to go and play tug with Finnigan.
Spencer set out and after saying hello to
the rest of the group headed off to do some exploring. He started in the main
yard, but when the group made their way out to the agility yard he went
trotting along with them. Spencer made a beeline for the grassy section by the
lounge. He spent quite some time exploring in the grass. When Spencer had seen
all he wanted to see, he went trotting off around the yard. He paused to say a
quick hello to me as he trotted past. With that done, Spencer was quick to put his
nose back to the ground and head of in search of something extra interesting. A
while later Spencer lifted his head to watch Finnigan splash around in the
pool. Eventually his curiosity got the better of him and he went over to see
what Finnigan was up to. Since it was so hot outside we were quick to head in
to the playroom. Spencer then found himself a rope toy that he was quite happy
to swing around. Tired he then laid down with his toy to relax.
Will ran out and was very excited to
see all the dogs. He had so much energy that was just waiting to come out while
he was in his kennel and he was glad he could finally start to play. He ran up
to all of the dogs and greeted them as they first walked out. He bounced around
each of them to see who would want to play with him. He started following a
couple of the dogs at first while they were exploring and decided that he only
wanted to play with them. When they weren’t playing back he didn’t mind and
just chased them around the yard anyway. After he was done running around the
agility yard all of the dogs ended up running into the main yard to do some
playing over there. Will seemed to spark an interest in Cooper and kept on wiggling and bumping him to say hi. It wasn’t long before he got him to start
playing and they were bouncing around together.
Cooper and Outlaw took it easy at
first when they both got outside. Cooper trotted into the agility yard with a
big smile on his face while Outlaw walked around the main yard at first to
sniff around and explore. After he was done he walked into the agility yard to
join everyone. He walked up to some of the huskies in the group and said hello. He stayed near them for a bit while he explored more. Meanwhile, Cooper was
wandering around on his own, I called him over to me and he came running with
his tongue hanging out to say hi. I pet him for a bit then he took off again.
All the dogs ran into the main yard and Cooper and Outlaw started to get really
playful. Outlaw started by being very interested in one of our huskies, Brokk,
and kept on jumping up on him to play. They were running around in circles both
trying to catch each other while Cooper saw and ran over to join in right away.
He was tagging behind Outlaw and whenever he saw Outlaw jump he would jump up
as well for back up. Then Will got excited when he saw Cooper and ran over to
steal him so they could play on their own.
Kai was being so playful as soon as
she walked out the door today. It was so hot out but that didn’t stop this girl
from running around! She began to chase some of the dogs around the main yard
until they all ran into the agility yard when I called them over. Kai trotted
behind them and she looked so happy and ran right past me to catch up to them.
After a little bit she started getting tired and went off over by the grass
area to explore. She kept her nose glued to the ground as she sniffed all the
scents that were coming up from the grass. I tried to get her to come in the
pool with the other dogs but she wasn’t interested and just circled around it
then walked away. By the time we got in the playroom she was so tired out and
plopped right on the floor to take a nap. She layed on her back as I rubbed her
belly and you could tell she was enjoying it by the look on her face.
Viggo is always happy to get out of
his kennel and into the yard. He ran outside today and took off into the agility yard to start to
sniff around. He kept to himself mostly after saying a quick hello to some of the other dogs. He wandered around the entire yard while sniffing and I called him over to see if he'd like to play. I offered him a toy but he opted to keep on following his nose. When he was done walking along the rocks, Viggo wandered
over by the outdoor kennel when one of the dogs ran up to him. She wanted to
play with him so badly and even though she was much smaller than him it didn’t
stop her from trying. She kept on jumping up to him as he was walking. I called him
over to me when he was by the door and his face lit right up with a smile he
trotted over and turned around so I could pet his bum for him.
Willow was full of beans during her group time today! She went outside without Morley for the first group since she was getting groomed, but that didn’t stop Willow from having an awesome time! She was so hyper as soon as she walked outside and began to run around the yard to look for a playmate. Whenever she gets excited his body starts to wiggle and she can’t stop herself so she just keeps moving around. She ran up to a few of the dogs to say hi and tried to get them all to play. As she was running around, she passed the pool and couldn't resist dipping her toes. Willow started off by sticking one paw in then stood there and started at the water for a moment before jumping right in. She made a huge splash and then stayed in the water until it was time to go back inside.

Teddy
and Kizmet are both so adorable, they joined their group outside today in the
agility yard and began to wander around. Kizmet separated from Teddy right away
and took off to explore around the yard; he loves to sniff along the grass and
I even caught him chewing on some at one point. Meanwhile, Teddy stood by me
watching all the dogs run around with a big smile on his face. He walked over
to them and started to socialize. As they started to play, Teddy didn’t join in
for some reason but always stayed near them as they ran around to watch. After
he saw all he wanted to see around the yard, Kizmet walked over to say hi to me. He gave a a big kiss on my
face as all the dogs started to run around him. They all wanted to get him to
play but all Kizmet wanted was cuddles. After he broke free from all of the dogs
offers to play, he put his head down in my lap for me to pet it. Teddy walked
over to the pool to cool off when he got too hot and jumped in right away. He
stood in the water for a little while as Kizmet walked over to cool off as well. He didn’t want to jump in though and just stood at the side and watched his brother.
Extra Attention:
Today for Will’s extra attention we threw
in a little training. We made our way outside and set off to do some heeling
work. Will did awesome so I let him relax and go smell some of the plant life.
We then got back to work. I threw in some sits along the way and he nailed it
every time. Since it was so hot today we didn’t stay out too long. Once we were
back inside. Will was happy to some more sits and downs then just hang out and
cuddle for a bit.
Cats:
Allie was all snuggled up in her bed when I went in to visit this morning. After a good stretch and some head scratches, Allie hopped down from her cubby and went to rub her face on the leg of the chair. I took out some toys to see which one she'd like to play with. She started with a little sparkly ball and batted it around before running over to the cat tree. Allie climbed up into the cubby area of the tree and looked at me with playful eyes. I waved a long fluffy toy around for her and she swatted and grabbed at it. I also took out the laser pointer but Allie opted to keep playing with the fluffy toy. She's so much fun to play around with and it's great to have her back!
