Oreo was super excited to go out in the yard today. She ran out of her kennel and down the hallway to go outside. Once she was out there she began to run around and explore. She seemed to have a lot of energy right from the start and couldn’t stay still as she was sniffing around. She kept on moving as she was exploring to work off some of that energy. I called her over to me as she was running around the further yard. Oreo trotted over and gave me a big kiss on my face and I asked her to sit for me which she did right away and immediately gave me a paw! I cuddled her for a bit then went off to find a toy for her to play with as she continued to roam around. I found a rubber ball and she ran towards me as soon as she saw it. I threw it across the yard for her and we played fetch from then on. She was a little reluctant to give up the ball for me to throw, but she did let me have it again and again. After she used up all of her energy during our game she went to go lay in the shade and brought her toy along so she could chew on it before heading inside.

Kai was having a very chill day today. She and a couple other dogs headed out to the agility yard during their group and she started off by taking it slow as she roamed around. She sniffed from one end of the yard to the other. She started by the door and kept her nose to the ground as she made her way all the way to the further yard. When she was done sniffing all the grass she walked over to the agility tunnel which peaked her interest. She stuck her head in it and began to analyze whether or not she wanted to walk through it and play. Kai stood there for a while and decided that she’d leave it for later and walked off to say hi to the other dogs. I called her over to me after and she ran over and did some tricks for me. She’s so well behaved and did every trick without hesitation. After when she was laying in the grass as I was petting her belly she started to roll around. She flopped from side to side as the other dogs ran up to see what she was doing, she got up and had a burst of energy all of a sudden and ran back over by the door where she sat for the rest of the time outside.

Simon and Monte were so playful today. They’re always full of energy and love to get outside just so they can start running around and playing with the other dogs. Today they were so excited as soon as they stepped out the door that they didn’t waste a second before they began to play a game of tag. The two of them started to run around while climbing on top of one another and wrestling as they were running to the further yard. Once they made it to the grass, they began to roll around and hop up on each other’s backs before either Simon or Monte could escape and start to run again. They used up so much of their energy so quickly that they had to take a break after a few minutes of playing with each other. Monte went to go walk around and socialize while Simon went back to wander around in the gravel yard. Simon came across the pool and only sniffed it for a second before hopping right in! He stood in the water and walked around for a little before plopping down on his belly and laying down to cool off. Monte saw Simon in the pool and trotted over from the other yard to check it out. He circled around it for a little while before stepping in the water. He only put her front two paws in though before hopping out to shake off.

Miko was the most energetic and playful dog that was in the small dog group today. He’s always so lively and is always in the mood to play with anybody that’s up for a game of tag with a little wrestling. During his walk this morning he wasn’t as playful as he was later on though. He spent most of his walk trotting behind me and trying to go off into the tall grass to explore. It took him a little while to get him to follow me and keep walking but eventually he did. During groups he ran out and started to play with Simon and Monte right away. The three of them ran around so much! They circled around the agility tunnel a few times when Maya noticed how much fun they were having. Maya was taking it easy at first and spent the first part of her group on her own. She wandered around the gravel yard as she explored then made her way to the further part of the yard to continue sniffing there. She walked along the rocks and tried to bury her nose deep between the cracks but she saw the others wrestling beside her and she ran up and pounced on Miko right away to join in. Miko was loving all of the attention and took off to start running as Maya and the others chased him.

Bogart and Tessa took it easy today out in the yard during their groups. Bogart wandered around and came up to me right away to say hi. I knelt down to pet him and give him some cuddles when I noticed Tessa running around like crazy in the other yard. I watched her as she ran around all excited and began to explore the scenery. After a minute I went over to bring her to the main yard and she continued to run around and explore on this side with her friends. She and Bogart kept to themselves mostly until Miko ran up to them later on to get them to join in with the other dogs and play. Tessa was interested right away and began to run around in circles as Miko chased her. She would jump up on his back and try to wrestle him but unfortunately she was too small to take Miko and he just continued on running. She loved it though and chased after him with a big smile on her face before having to take a break from the sun. She walked over to the shade and explored along the gravel. Miko ran up to Bogart next and started to sniff him and as he was sniffing him Bogart seemed to get a burst of energy and jumped up on Miko’s back. He was pleasantly surprised by this and the two of them started to wrestle on their hind legs, then when they got back on all fours the two of them started to run around together before coming inside.

Maggie set out to the agility yard. She quickly decided that she wanted to start her morning with some exploring. Maggie started with the entryway to the agility yard. When she had thoroughly checked it out Maggie headed out to the middle of the yard to figure out where she wanted to go next. She settled on making her way over to the rocks by the fence. Maggie ended up going all the way around the yard checking in all the crevices and sampling the grass along the way. Needing a break from the sun she made her way out to the shady part to cool down a little. When Maggie had cooled down she took off racing. She headed right for me and planted herself at my feet asking for lots of love.

Issy and Mocha headed right out and set off to do some exploring around the yard. Mocha only made it about half way across the yard when she had to stop to check something out. Issy headed right out to the grassy section letting nothing stop her. Mocha took a quick break from exploring when Merida headed over to see what she was up to. She then headed back out to check out another part of the yard. Issy finished up with one section of grass then went trotting off to the other. When she was finished with the grass Issy headed out to look around the rest of the yard. Mocha eventually had seen enough of the yard. She headed over in my direction. Mocha then plopped herself down next to me and asked for some pets. When she had enough Mocha headed out to the middle of the yard. Once there she sat and watched what the others were up to. Not too long after this Issy went trotting past. Mocha got up and decided to tag along with her sister.

Will went trotting out in to the yard and immediately over to the tunnel. He started giving it a very a quick once over. Will then became entranced by a smell near the end. He spent quite some time smelling it. I’m not if he was trying to figure out what it was or what, but it held him captive for quite a while. Eventually Will left the tunnel alone and went trotting off to check out more of the yard. He then spotted Percy in the pool. Will went trotting over to check out. Percy went charging out of the pool and off around the yard with Will tagging along. They ran around for a while then Percy headed off to do some exploring so Will split off to resume his own exploring. Not too long after Will found himself being pounced on my Sage, who very much wanted to play with him. Percy quickly appeared to add commentary. Sage was then joined by Kyah and the two girls both had fun bouncing all over Will. Justice then went racing off around the yard and everyone went racing after him.

Percy couldn’t wait to be outside. He went trotting around checking everything out and seeing what he might find. I showed him the Frisbee I had and he was very excited to chase after it. After I threw it he decided that wasn’t actually what he wanted to play with and went and snatched up the orange toy. Percy then went racing around the yard showing the toy off to everyone. He then took the toy with him to check out the pool. It was currently empty due to a leakage problem, so he was rather disappointed though that didn’t stop him from checking on it a bunch of times. On one of his trips to the pool Percy was joined by Will. When Percy jumped out of the pool and went racing off Will raced after him. They soon needed a break and soon split up to do some exploring. Percy then headed over to the tunnel to have some fun running through it. Nearby Will was being bugged into playing with Sage. Percy went running over so he could add some commentary. Justice then went racing past and Percy along with the others went tearing off after him.

Extra Attention

Will came in from his afternoon group and then headed up front to come and hang out with me for a while. He said hi then wandered off to check out if anything had changed since yesterday. Will the spotted the colourful, squeaky caterpillar. He snatched it up and brought it over so we could have a nice game of tug. When Will grew tired of playing he was happy to chew on the toy while getting scratches. He then laid down next to me to relax with the toy.
