When I arrived this morning Allie was quick to let me know she was up and needed to be fed "right now!". I walked in and said hello to Allie and Ziggy while Allie continued to meow at me running around my feet while I cleaned her suite. I got her some breakfast and put her away while I cleaned Ziggy's suite. Ziggy was happy to come out from the night and lounge in the hammock on the cat tree. After breakfast I joined the two of them for some extra cuddles. Ziggy was happy to continue lounging in the hammock rolling around to get some belly rubs and show off his cuteness. Allie was curious to meet her neighbour in the room and ran over to the cat tree to investigate. She ran right up behind him to give him a sniff and a hiss, which Ziggy just shrugged off nonchalantly. He was there first and he wasn't going to let a sassy little cat bug him. Allie realized her act wasn't going to scare him to decided to play with a toy instead. She would grab it from the air and give it a shake, pawing at it as I pulled it away. I left Allie to play with her toy and Ziggy to snooze the rest of the morning away.
Training
Khal had a fantastic training session. We first started off with just going over basic manners, sitting at door ways and not launching ahead when asked to walk. This took a couple reminders but by the time we reached the front door he had it figured out. We then headed outside to take advantage of the sunny weather. We worked on his walking skills practicing sitting, laying down and walking beside me. He is such a smart boy and had it down pat pretty quickly. After doing this a few times up and down the driveway we did some pass by's with Goliath. Once again he was a very good boy with only a couple reminders to nevermind the other dog. We then took a quick break before heading back to his kennel sniffing around and receiving some extra treats.
Extra Attention
Groups
Will decided to start his morning with some exploring. He went trotting around checking out anything that caught his eye. As Will made his way out to the grassy section by the building, he was joined by Bowen. They went around checking things out together. The two of them ended up making their way back to the entrance to the yard. Will was then hit with the need to play. He started to bounce around and on Bowen trying to get him to play. They caught Kizmet’s eye, but they were so absorbed with each other that they ended up continuing to play just the two of them. Will and Bowen went running off the centre of the yard where the wrestling recommenced. Soon Teddy, Kizmet, and Bandit joined them. Will and Bowen were still only interested in each other and continued to play only with each other. Eventually Will needed a break and headed out to do some more exploring. He wasn’t left alone long and was soon being asked to play by Teddy and Kizmet. Will was all for this and went tearing off around the yard while the others trailed behind. He soon needed another break and was happy to head over to the pool to cool off.
Bandit was full of energy, but he wasn’t quite sure how he wanted to channel it. He went bouncing around the yard seeing what the others were up to. When that was done, Bandit decided to do a little exploring to see if he could find anything interesting in the yard. Bandit quickly switched back to seeing what the other dogs were up to. He settled on Kizmet and went to see what he was looking at in the rocks. When Kizmet went to go and see about joining in on Will and Bowen’s fun, Bandit was close on his heels not wanting to miss out on anything. Bandit came trotting over for a couple pets from me shortly after. He spotted Kai checking out the grass in the far part of the yard and went to see what she was looking at. Bandit didn’t stay out there long when he noticed Will, Kizmet and Teddy playing around. He went bouncing over to them and was more than happy to join in on the fun.
Teddy and Kizmet started their morning with some nice exploring around the yard. They each headed out to different parts of the yard to cover more ground. Teddy soon finished looking over his section and went over to join Kizmet. The two of them then went around the yard together checking out anything that caught their attention. Kizmet was distracted from his exploring when he spotted Will and Bowen playing. Kizmet was determined to join in, but unfortunately the other two only had eyes for each other. He took it in stride and went back to roaming around the yard. Teddy was curious as to what was going on and came trotting over to join his brother. Teddy then became aware of Will and Bowen. Teddy and Kizmet both made their ways over to see about joining in. Eventually Will stopped playing with Bowen and Teddy and Kizmet saw their opportunity. They went running over and asked Will to play. This time they got their wish and soon they were all racing around the yard. They all had a blast until Will left to go and play in the pool. Kizmet then set his sights on Kai and Teddy turned his sights on Kizmet. In the end they all had fun.
Kai was quick to make her way out into the agility yard. She then turned around and came trotting right back when she realized she hadn’t said hi to me. With that done, Kai headed back out to do some exploring around the yard. When the others started to get crazy and play, Kai went off to a quiet part of the yard where she could stay out of the commotion and continue her explorations. Eventually she was tired of just exploring in that one section and headed out to check out more of the yard. Kai checked on what the others were up to before making her way over to the grass section. When Kai had checked out everything she wanted to see, she made her way over to me for some pets. When she had had enough love, Kai went to head out to see if there was anything she had missed. Shortly after she found herself being asked to play by Kizmet while Teddy tried to get Kizmet to play with him. They had some fun bouncing around.
Goliath went to make his way out into the yard. He then stopped so he could say hello to me and get some pets. That out of the way he went trotting off to shove his nose in the grass of the far yard. Goliath went around the yard a couple times in this fashion. When he noticed that I had made my way back to the main yard, Goliath came running over to see what was going on. After he’d gotten a bunch more pets, Goliath decided now was the time for the pool. He wouldn’t get in while Pearl was in, so he waited patiently for her to vacate the pool. Once in, Goliath spun around a couple times before laying down and getting nice and wet. When Harvey and Charlotte made their way over to the pool, Goliath got out and headed over to see what Abby and Jock were up to.
Pippin was happy to head outside for group. He was quick to head out and start exploring around the main yard. When Pippin noticed the rest of the group had made their way out to the far yard, he was quick to tag along. He checked on what the others were up to then headed off to continue his explorations. Pippin didn’t stay exploring long as he noticed Flora. He went bouncing over to and asked her to play. Soon they were having a great time bouncing around together. When they were tired, Pippin and Flora headed off to do some exploring together. Pippin finished his explorations and came over to see me for some attention. I scooped him up and gave him some pets as we walked around the yard together. He's such a snuggle bug!
Charlotte and Harvey were the puppies of the group and they both very excited to be back. Harvey came and launched himself at me for some pets and love before racing off. It wasn’t long before he met up with Charlotte. Both were super happy to see each other. They were instant friends and went trotting off to the far yard together. At some point one of them found a rope toy. Harvey and Charlotte both had an end and went trotting around the yard together. It quickly turned into them having a game of tug. Charlotte ended up winning the game, but Harvey didn’t give up. Eventually the toy was forgotten and the two of them just had a blast wrestling and running around together. Harvey and Charlotte continued on like this for the rest of the group, only taking a break to have a look around the pool.
Abby and Jock and were all about the exploring in the yard. They did wait to say hello to me and see what the other dogs were up to, but right after that Abby and Jock put their noses to the ground and were off in search of something exciting. Eventually Abby wanted a break from exploring and made her way over to Lola, who was hanging out in the shade. They spent some time checking each other over then just hung out together. Jock spent some more time exploring in the sunshine before he decided to go and join his sister in the shade. They went around with their noses to the ground once more, checking out anything that caught their attention. Jock could only stay confined to the shady section for so long and was soon back exploring in the sunshine. Abby later found herself being visited by Goliath. Jock went trotting over to see what they were up to.
Kaos and Shenzi and were quick to come running over to me for some pets and attention. When that done they went running off to see Khal. Shenzi and Kaos spent quite some time checking him over. When he headed off to do some exploring they tagged along. Kaos quickly finished exploring and started to run around hoping someone would join her. She didn’t have much luck so she made her way over to me for some cuddles. Shenzi had moved on from following Khal around and was off enjoying exploring in the grass. After they had seen all they wanted to see of the far yard, Shenzi and Kaos returned to the main yard to do some exploring. Shenzi decided it was time for a bit of a break and plopped down to just watch her sister. I made my way over to her to give her some pets. Khal joined us and the two of them spent some time smelling each other. When they parted ways, Shenzi made her way over to check out the pool. She chose not to get in and instead went to follow Kaos back out to the far yard. Kaos set out to do some more exploring in the grass while Shenzi lay down in the grass to relax some more. Shenzi’s relaxing soon turned into her rolling around in the grass. Kaos saw this and went running over to pounce on Shenzi.
Khal had lots of friends for today’s group. He headed out to see all who was out and say his hellos. Khal then headed out to do a little exploring around the yard. Kaos and Shenzi accompanied him. After exploring for a while, Khal found himself being asked to play by Kaos. He wasn’t quite so sure he wanted to play and in the end turned her down to head off to do more exploring. Khal went around the far yard a couple more times before making his way to the main yard. He met up with Shenzi, they then spent some time checking one another over. They then split up and Khal headed off do some more exploring.
Zak is such a funny dog. As soon as he stepped out the door he started to bounce around and say hi to all of the dogs. He’s so big and loves to jump up on them but all of the dogs in his group are very playful and love when he does. He brings the energy level up and gets everyone in the mood to play. When he walked outside to join them he ran over to me and started to do the same thing. He tried to jump up for kisses but this boy's so big that he almost knocked me down! He started to run around on his own in the grass yard today while Bella was doing the same. She stuck to herself at first and roamed around the yard to explore. Whenever some of the dogs started to play she would run up to them and play bow as if she was about to join in then she would walk off and go sniff around more. Zak headed over to the pool after it was done filling up and took a drink of water. Once all of the dogs got out of it he decided to go ahead in and made a big splash. His whole body didn’t fit in it but he made do and laid in it half way while his other half was sticking in the air. Bella also loved the pool today and whenever she went in it she rolled up in to a ball and laid down then began to roll around in it so she was soaking wet. She then got out and shook off right beside me getting me all wet too!
Max and Sadie were super crazy today. They both ran outside and Max jumped on the dogs to try and play immediately, while Sadie stood beside him cheering him on. Sadie wasn’t being too playful at the start and took off on her own to head over to the grass yard to sniff around. She loves to explore and spent a while sniffing along the fence. When Max walked back over to the dogs he was being very polite and would walk over slowly to sniff each one. Whenever a dog reacted to him he got playful right away and bounced up and down to start playing. Sadie went to go and continue digging in her big hole that she loves to sit in. After Max had a good run around the yard with some of our huskies, he headed over to the pool to cool off. Sadie saw him run over there and she quickly stopped what she was doing to go and join him. Max even stepped in it to get his feet wet while Sadie stood by him. When Sadie was done in the pool she headed over to the side of the building where she sat in the shade to get away from the hot sun. Max didn’t mind the heat and stayed near all the dogs to run around more.
Viggo and Ranger both had a very calm and relaxing day today while they were outside with their group. Viggo was very excited to head out to the agility yard and ran in front of all the dogs to get a head start on exploring. As he was sniffing around, Ranger took his time as he trotted behind him and made his way over to where all of the dogs were. As they said hi to him he stood there with a big smile on his face. He started to sniff around the rocks for a little bit before he headed back to the door to relax. He liked to sit in the shade rather than use up all of his energy since it was pretty warm out. Viggo wasn’t too interested in any of the toys that I showed him until he saw me playing fetch with some of the other dogs. He loved to chase them around the yard as they were trying to get the toy. Later he came up to me as I was sitting down and turned around so I could pet his back. After a bit he headed over to the pool to take a sip of the water before all of the dogs jumped in and took it over. Ranger had a really nice time during his walk this morning on the driveway. He seemed really excited and ran out the door and just wanted to walk all over the place, first he was sniffing around the grass then walked over by the parking lot and back to the gravel, he loves to explore while he walks.
Maverick and Shyla were being so good during their walk today. Yesterday they were very energetic and wanted to run off the trail to go and explore and whenever they saw a dog they’d try to run up to see them. Today they seemed to be very calm and walked ahead of me on the trail the entire time. All of that changed when they went outside during their group today, though. They were so playful right from the start and Shyla was ready to socialize with all of the new dogs. As Maverick ran off to do his usual sniffing around, Shyla ran up to all of the others to say hi. She seemed very intrigued by Kelly who was new to the group and was a little nervous at first. Shyla made her feel very welcome and they began to play tag around the yard. Maverick saw and ran over to go and meet Kelly. He sniffed her for a second then went off to go and play with Finnigan who was playing fetch. Maverick tried each time I threw the ball to go and catch it but he just wasn’t fast enough. After all the running he did he walked over to the pool to jump in. He walked around in the water for a while to cool off as he watched Shyla playing with two of the other dogs. When Shyla ran past him, she stopped and walked over to say hi to Maverick.
Kelly and Riley stuck close by me when we first went out to meet the rest of their group. After some pets, Kelly decided to go and say hello to some of the other dogs. The other dogs greeted her enthusiastically which seemed to bring her out of her shell. Riley left Kelly to go off on his own and do some exploring in the long grass. As all of the dogs started to chase Kelly she started to open up more and more. She began to run around with them as they chased after her and wrestled with her. She rolled around on the ground as the others jumped up on her and she looked like she was having so much fun. Riley ran over on his own to see for himself and he wanted to join in as well. He began to chase the dogs that were chasing Kelly to the other end of the yard. He ran as fast as he could when Kelly jumped up off the ground to join. Riley ran over to the pool and started to sniff around it very curiously; he was unsure whether or not to go ahead and jump in so he waited until the others got out of the water to give it a go. Once he was in, he started to paw at the water as if he was trying to swim, it was flying everywhere and when Kelly ran over to go and see him he ended up getting her all wet! Kelly stuck around the pool for a while too but didn’t want to jump in with him, instead she kept on running around with the others.
Finnigan is such a funny boy. He always has such a blast whenever he comes in for daycare during the day. He went outside into the agility yard and headed straight to the rope toy. He picked it up as he ran and it swung around his head. Maverick saw and ran over immediately to try and snatch it from him but he wasn’t a match against Finnigan since he's small and speedy. He started to run around with it in his mouth as I tried to grab it to throw it for him, but whenever I got near him he ran as fast as he could right past me. He picked up a frisbee later and trotted around with it. When he saw some of the others in the pool he headed over with it still in his mouth and jumped right in. When the frisbee sunk to the bottom he started to paw at it to try to pick it up but he had no luck. I picked it up for him and he jumped up to snatch it out of my hand splashing the water everywhere. When he wasn’t in the pool he was running around and wrestling with one of the new dogs. He loves to meet all of the new dogs especially when they’re playful.

Will ran all the way up to the front today during his extra attention. He hung around the reception and office area with me and was being so affectionate at first. He rested his head on my thigh as I was sitting down so I would pet him. After when I got some treats he was doing his usual tricks for me. He kept on sitting then laying down then standing back up to sit and lay down again until all of the treats were gone. After that he roamed around the room to explore and see if there was anything interesting to find. He found a bone on top of one of the beds and grabbed it from under the blankets right away. He brought it to a corner of the room and begin to chew on it for a while before going out to do some training. We had already worked on his sits and downs so we did some work on leash manners.
Goliath was really happy when he realized it was time for his extra attention. We headed out to the front where I clipped up to the long line so we could play with some of the toys. Goliath was more than happy to go chasing after them, but failed to pick them up and actually bring them back. After I’d thrown all the toys we settled down to have a cuddle. We stayed outside a little while longer then headed inside. Goliath was happy to just hang out in the front room and get lots of attention and pets. He spent some of his time up front watching little Julie. She's always very intriguing to other dogs because of the way she scoots across the floor instead of walking on four feet. Goliath seemed quite entertained watching Julie while getting a back rub.
