Maverick and Shyla went out trotting out to
check out the yard. They were intrigued because we were in a different yard
today. After sniffing around a bit, Maverick and Shyla went trotting around off
to the far yard. They were quick to get back to checking things out. Shyla was
then distracted from her exploring when Maggie made her way over to see what
Shyla was up to. When she went to trot off once more Shyla decided to tag
along. They trotted around together for a bit before Shyla decided to head back
to the main yard to hang out in the shade and cool off. Maverick suddenly
stopped sniffing to go racing off across the yard. He ran all the way over to
where Bentley was climbing up on the little picnic table in the main yard.
Maverick stood watching him trying to figure out what he was up to. He then
left Bentley to go and walk around with Brenyn for a bit. Shyla, having cooled
off enough, headed back out into the sunshine to do a little more exploring.
Maverick and Brenyn ended up back in the far yard where they found themselves a
good rolling spot. Brenyn had first dibs, but soon Maverick was having a grand
old time rolling himself silly. Feeling all frisky, the two of them went racing
off together. Maverick quickly got a little warm and decided to take a break in
the shade. Shyla did a little more exploring in the sun before making her way
over to join Maverick in the shade.
Kaos started her group time with a little bit of exploring. I say little because it only lasted about a minute. Kaos was then off checking on what the others were up to. When she spotted Finnigan in the pool she was quick to go running over to see what he was up to. Kaos decided not to join him in the pool and headed off to do a little more exploring. She was soon back over by the water where she watched Finnigan and Zak as they splashed around. The boys then took off racing and Kaos was right here with them. After racing around for a while Kaos needed a bit of a breather. She and Finnigan headed off to do a some more exploring in the grass. Once again the exploring lasted for all of a minute. Soon Finnigan had found a toy and Kaos was following along behind him. She soon forgot about the toy and came barreling over to me for some pets. Happy, Kaos went racing after Zak once more. Zak ended up running off to see another dog, so Kaos turned her sights on to Finnigan who was playing in the grass. She apparently found him highly amusing and spent quite some time watching him roll around in the grass. When Zak started to race around once more Kaos was there and having a blast.
Bella was all about the exploring as she usually is in the mornings. She was quick to put her nose to the ground and set off in search of all the interesting scents. Bella’s journey brought her by the pool. She spent about a second staring at it then quickly hopped in. After she was nice and cool Bella set off to do some more exploring. Bella ended up back by the entranced to the yard where she became very interested in the rocks and plant life along the fence. She spent quite some time going along the fence line checking it all out very thoroughly. Finally Bella was done and made her way back to the pool. She hopped in once more and was quick to submerge herself as much as possible. Feeling nice and refreshed Bella headed off to do a little more exploring. When she was done Bella came to see what I was up to. Oakley and Zak then joined us. Not too long after that Bella was off tearing around the yard with Zak and Kaos.
Oakley made her way out to the agility yard where her attention was quickly caught by the plant life by the fence as she entered. When she had checked it all over thoroughly Oakley went trotting off to see what was going on around the yard. Oakley took a break from exploring to just watch what the others were up to. Pretty soon she was back to having her nose to the ground off checking things out. After a little while the antics of the yard proved to be too interesting and Oakley stopped exploring to watch once more. She ended up catching Zak’s eye and came bouncing over to say hi and see if maybe she might want to play. Oakley let him check her over, but declined the invite to play. She did eventually cave and decided to go and do a little exploring with Zak. Oakley left Zak to come and see what Bella and I were up to. Oakley and I then ended up over by a big rock, which soon started a game of catch-me-if-you-can. I ran around while Oakley tried to catch me. She’s so smart and switched directions and couple times to see if she could get me that way.
Zak was bursting with energy today. He couldn’t wait to get outside and have fun. Zak went running around seeing what was going on in the yard. He then spotted Finnigan in the pool. Zak was quick to go running over and hop in with him. He then proceeded to have a great time splashing around like crazy. Feeling nice a refreshed, it was now time to go racing around. Zak took of racing with Kaos and Finnigan. The three of them had a blast racing around together. After a little while they needed a bit of a break. The other two wandered off to explore so Zak went and hopped back in the pool, where the splashing recommenced. Finnigan and Kaos finished with their exploring and were soon back wanting to run some more. Zak was more than happy to do so and they took of racing once again. Zak became distracted by Oakley. He went trotting over to see what she was up to and see if maybe she might want to play. She didn’t, so they ended up going off to do some exploring together. Zak ended up in the pool once more before he went tearing off around the yard with Bella and Kaos.
Hobart was ready to start his morning with some exploring. He got about two steps into the agility yard when the grass near the entrance caught his attention. Hobart then spent quite some time thoroughly checking it out. A little while later I headed back to see how Hobart was doing. He’d finished with the grassy section was now hanging out in the shady section next to the entrance. When Hobart spotted me heading over he met me half way and asked for some attention. Once he’d had enough I left him to relax in the shade once more. Towards the end of the group Hobart found himself being joined by the rest of the group. He spent some time checking in with everyone.
Finnigan headed right for the pool when he got out to the yard. As soon as he got there he jumped in without a moment’s hesitation. Kaos was wondering what he was up to and went over and joined Finnigan. She didn’t join him in the pool though, she stood on the side looking in. Finnigan didn’t have the pool to himself long as Zak came bouncing over. He didn’t seem to mind sharing. Eventually Finnigan got out to do a little exploring. Not too long after that, Zak was wanting to run around. Finnigan is always up for a good run and was quick to join him and go tearing off around the yard. After racing around for a while everyone needed a bit of a breather. Finnigan decided to join Kaos and do a little exploring. While they were going around, Finnigan found himself a nice rope toy. This meant that he now had Kaos following him around. When Zak started splashing around in the pool, Finnigan quickly forgot about his toy. Zak then took off running and Finnigan was quick to go chasing after him. Zak ended up wandering off to see another dog. Finnegan decided to take himself off to the grassy section and start rolling around. He caught Kaos’s eye and she stood watching him.
Higgins was super excited to go out and join his group this morning even though he was curled up into a ball lying in his bed when it was time to go outside. He hopped right out of his little donut position and ran out the door to start his day. When I was giving a treat to Julie, Higgins ran over to me and was eyeing my hand as he saw me give it to her. We both stared at each other for a few seconds before I gave him one, then he immediately turned around and trotted the other way once he got his snack. He walked over to the far yard and explored around the grass with Pippin and Penny. As I took a seat on top of a rock, Higgins got so excited and skipped over to me where he began to run around the rock in circles. He stopped running around and I didn’t see him for a second before I turned around and saw that he joined me and hopped up onto the rock to sit with me. After a long time in the sun, he walked over to the shade where the picnic table was and jumped onto it to sit with some of the other dogs.
Pippin and Penny are always both so energetic and excited every time I see them. They love to run around and sniff whatever they can get their noses into. During their walk this morning they were both so wiggly that it was difficult for me to put their harnesses on. They hopped around and kissed me until I was able to get them all ready to go. Once we got on the trail the two settled down because instead of wanting to run the whole way, they were very focused on exploring and stopped to sniff in the tall grass. During their group outside today they were both really happy when they first walked out the door to greet their friends. They explored around the gravel yard at first while saying hi to the other dogs before heading out to the grass yard where they ran around with Higgins. I came across a huge rope toy and waved it in the air to see if anyone wanted to play. Penny ran up to my feet and barked until I threw it. She chased after it but only sniffed it when she reached it and then circled back to see me again.
Duke was in such a playful mood today and loved the warm weather. Good thing for him that there was a full pool filled up to the top, waiting for him when we got outside. He began to play as soon as he ran into the agility yard. He ran around the entire yard once and on his way back scooped up his favorite orange plastic toy and shook it while it was hanging out of his mouth to show it off to all of the other dogs. He started to run around in circles as I was trying to get the toy from him so I could throw it and start a game of fetch, but whenever I got near him he would run away. Finally when I saw another toy on the ground I showed him and then threw it for him to chase but he wasn’t interested in anything other than his orange toy.

Ranger had more of a quiet day just like he
usually does when he comes in for daycare on a hot day. He seemed so happy to
go outside and walk around and that’s exactly what he did. As he trotted out
into the agility yard he stopped in the middle of the yard and started to look
around to see everything around him. He was deciding what he wanted to go
explore. Of course Ranger walked over to the rocks along the fence right after
since he loves to sniff along there, and when he was done he walked over to the
side of the buildings and then over to the pool where some of the dogs were
cooling off. He took a drink before he decided that he wanted to go all in as
he took a step in the water then his whole body followed him as he splashed
around. He stood there and cooled off with a nice smile on his face.
George and Titan are two of the happiest boys. They were both looking super clean outside during their group after they got their baths. George’s hair was so fluffy and Titan’s coat felt so soft and silky. When they got outside George ran all the way into the agility yard and wandered to the very end by the fence. Titan, on the other hand, was in no rush at all to start exploring and ran in the middle of the yard and looked at me with a big grin. I called him over as I knelt down and he rested his head in my lap as I pet him. He loved all of the attention but had to take a minute to greet the other dogs when they came to say hi. George was off exploring in the tall grass and whenever I looked over he would be pawing at the grass. After Titan said hi to some of the dogs in his group and socialized he trotted over to the pool and took a sip of the water before he jumped right in. George saw Titan stepping out of the pool and trotted over to go and see him when he was done exploring. They both sniffed each other then George went to go and drink some of the pool water to cool off. He jumped right in the pool after that with no hesitation at all and stayed in it for a while, enjoying the water on his paws.
