Pedro and Finnigan were quick to set out
and do some exploring and they both ended up checking out the same section of
grass. Pedro and Finnigan spent quite some time checking it out. Finnigan then
became distracted by Glory and was quick to switch his focus from exploring to
playing with her. Pedro, wanting to get in on the fun, started bouncing around
them looking for an opening to join in. After little bit of wrestling the three
of them took off racing around the yard. Glory ended up slipping off which left
Finnigan and Pedro to continue running around together. They were soon joined
by Magic, and not too long after that Glory reappeared. At this point Finnigan
had noticed a Frisbee and was quick to snatch it up. He ended up finding it
difficult to play with the others while still holding the toy in his mouth, so
he quickly ditched it and went back to having fun with Pedro and Glory. They
wrestled some more then Finnigan went racing off around the yard. Pedro was
quick to racing after him. They raced around for a while until Finnigan was
stopped by Glory who wanted to wrestle some more. After a little more racing,
Pedro and Finnigan decided to take a bit of a breather and go do some more
exploring together. Along the way, Finnigan found himself another Frisbee. He
picked it up and went to go running off with it when he was pounced on by
Pedro, pretty soon they were back to wrestling and running around. Their antics
caught the eyes of all the huskies and soon they were all playing in the
tunnel, well Pedro wouldn’t go in so he participated from outside of the
tunnel.
Vasco was pretty excited to get outside this morning. He went trotting around to see what was going on in the yard. Vasco checked in with the other dogs and saw how everyone was doing. He took a particular liking to Bentley. Vasco followed him around wanting to know everything he was up to. He also tried to convince Bentley to take a break from exploring so they could play. Bentley wasn’t quite ready yet, so Vasco left him to his exploring to see what else as going on. While he was trotting around Charlie stopped him. Vasco soon found himself being thoroughly checked over. When Charlie was done he asked Vasco to play. They bounced around a little bit before they went trotting off around the yard together. Their wandering brought them back over to Bentley. Vasco decided to try once more to get Bentley to play. This time he had much more luck and they had some fun bouncing and wrestling.
George and Titan were all about the exploring as per usual. They both set out and immediately put their noses to the ground. George and Titan then took off to follow whatever scent track they had caught. Titan ended up near the fence, thoroughly checking out the grass growing there. George headed right for the centre of the yard. He then followed his nose over to the tunnel. George entered the tunnel and got about half way through when he quickly decided to back his way out. He then set off to check out what was going on by the lounge. Titan finished with the area by the fence and went to check out the grassy patch George had started at. Titan finished up with that spot then went to join George. They spent quite some time with their heads together. Once they had checked out every last blade of grass they split up once more. George went trotting off to exploring in the grass by the main building and Titan went wandering around the yard. Titan then came across me and decided to come for a quick visit. George left the extra grass section and went wandering around the yard. Titan left me to go and met up with George for a little bit. He was soon back wanting more pets and attention, which I was more than happy to give. George was apparently done exploring in the grass and decided to make his way over to the pool to see what was going on. Finding it empty and not overly exciting he quickly moved on.
Maverick and Shyla were both very eager to get outside and start their day today. During their walk they were both as excited as ever when they saw that there were dogs just ahead of them that were also on a walk. Whenever they see other dogs all they want to do is race ahead and try to catch up with them, which meant we were running the whole way around the trail this morning. During groups outside, Maverick and Shyla both took off separately into the agility yard at first to sniff around. Shyla headed towards the rocks and walked along there to explore while Maverick was really interested in the tall grass. He seemed really interested in Duke today after he ran up to him to say hi. Maverick wasn’t too sure he wanted to hang out yet, but after Duke decided to leave, Maverick ran up to him and followed him around. Shyla kept to herself mostly and spent more time with me than with the other dogs. She came up to me when I was kneeling down by the door and came for some cuddles which she was very pleased to get. Once Maverick was done getting his cuddles he ran off into the main yard and Shyla ran after him since she always likes to stay near him.
Molly was the most energetic girl in her group outside today. She ran out the door and started to scope the yard for her favorite toys right away. First she sniffed around the main yard but once she saw all of the other dogs head out to the agility yard, she stopped what she was doing immediately to follow them. Once she got into the agility yard she was so hyper that she couldn’t help but to say hello to all of the dogs. She walked up to each of them and gave them a sniff before moving on to the next dog and when she was done she continued on her journey for her favorite toy. It didn’t take long before she found her blue rubber bone toy and scooped it up out of the grass to bring over to me so we could start a game of fetch. I threw it for her a few times and Duke saw and started to chase after it as well. Unfortunately for him, Molly was a lot faster and more determined to get her toy so Duke wasn’t able to get it whenever I threw it. He didn’t mind too much though and was still very playful and energetic, enjoying all of the running and chasing. He was running around the whole yard with a huge smile on his face. He would stop and sniff a certain part of the yard then when he was finished he would run back around the yard and do a lap. I called him over to me a couple times and each time he would contemplate whether or not he should come and see me. He would either jump back or play bow towards me to let me know he wanted me to chase him or he would run and see me right away. He can be so sweet and loves to jump up and tackle me to give me lots of kisses.
Ranger had a slow, easy day outside today. He trotted out of his kennel and started to wander around the agility yard at first. He really loves to sniff around the buildings in the agility yard and by the outdoor kennel. He spent most of his time exploring around that area before I went to go and see him. When I walked up he came over to me and turned around right away for me to pet his back. After I scratched it a bit he gave me a big kiss and started to wander off elsewhere on his own. I tried to call him back over but once he is on the move you can’t stop him. He walked over to the main yard and did a couple laps of it to sniff around more before he decided to take a break and lay down on the ground. As he laid on the gravel the sun came out and he enjoyed the warm air. Not too long after, some of the other dogs ran into the main yard to join him and he got up to walk around the grass yard a bit more. When it was time to come inside I called his name and he ran as fast as he could towards me! I’ve never seen him so excited before in my life.

Extra Attention:
Vasco was very excited to go out for his
extra attention this afternoon. Right as I hooked him on his leash he began to walk as fast as his legs would allow, all the
way down the hallway until we reached the door to go outside. When we got
outside I hooked him on a long line so he could roam the front yard freely. At
first he began to sniff around the grass and explore, and after a little bit I
called him over to me to see if he wanted to play with some toys but he was enjoying the freedom of the long leash too much. So instead I decided to take him for a walk around the front yard so that he could let his nose guide him. He loved to explore so he really liked the walk; he tried to run the whole way!
This boy only slowed down when he found something interesting to sniff or if I brought
out a treat. He did a few of the basic tricks for me as I gave him some treats
such as sit, lay down, paw and stay. When I brought him back inside I cuddled him
and did more tricks with him in the front reception before bringing him back to
his kennel.
