Groups

Penny and Pippin immediately set out to do some exploring. They started with the side of the building, but soon moved onto exploring in the grass. Pippin then decided to make her way out to the far yard to join the rest of the group. Penny was still very focused on thoroughly checking out the main yard that she didn’t even notice her sister leave. I called her over and she was quick to come charging my way. Penny came and got some pets then went to have a visit with Higgins, who was rolling around in the grass. Pippin continued to wander around the yard with her nose to the ground. Penny and Pippin noticed that the rest of the group made their way back to the main yard. Not wanting to be left out, they decided to tag along. They were both quick to put their noses back to the ground and set of in search of something interesting. After a little while Pippin decided it was time to come for a visit with me. When she’d had enough loving she went to join Penny and continue exploring. It wasn’t too long after that that Pippin noticed Jake getting all frisky. She went running over and put a paw on his back, wanting to play. Soon they were bouncing around having fun. Penny not too far away met up with Bella. The two of them spent some time checking each other over and seeing how things were going. Pippin and Jake took a break from playing so he could say hi to another dog, but pretty soon they were back to running around. Penny and Bella went over to see what their siblings were up to. Bella and Jake then took off racing. Pippin not wanting to be left out went racing after them. Penny let them have their fun and decided to make her way over to me for some pets and scratches.

Bella and Jake couldn’t wait for it to be their turn to head outside. They stopped to say hi to me before running off to do a little exploring. Bella and Jake wasted no time in running out to the far yard. They went running around checking out anything that caught their attention. Bella stopped suddenly and threw herself to the ground and to have herself a good roll. Jake made his way over to see what his sister was up to. When he’d done that he went back to trotting around checking things out. Bella finished with her rolling and went to join Jake as he went around the yard. They went around with their heads together to check it out thoroughly. After touring around the far yard Jake and Bella headed back to the main yard to spend some time exploring in the shade. Jake took a break from exploring to make his way over to me for some pets. He started to get all excited and extra wiggly. Pippin came running over and put a paw on Jake’s back. They bounced around a bit which caught Bella’s attention. She came running over, wanting to get in on the fun. Jake ended up leaving Pippin to go and see Higgins. Bella then wandered off and met up with Penny. Jake finished with Higgins and went back to running around with Pippin. Bella came racing back and soon she and Jake were off racing to the far yard. When they got out there they started to wrestle and have a grand old time. After a little while Jake needed a break and made his way back to me for some more pets and cuddles. He then took off running some more before rejoining Bella to do some more exploring.

Fergus started his group time off with a little exploring. He had made his way outside when his attention was captured by something along the fence. Fergus made sure to thoroughly investigate it before he moved on to the rest of the yard. After he had done a couple tours of the main yard he headed out to the far yard. Fergus quickly made his way back when he realized not everyone was following him. Tanner went bouncing over and asked Fergus to play. The two of them bounced around for a little while until Fergus decided to go and see what some of the others were looking at over by the jump. When they were done with that they all went trotting back out to the main yard. Fergus took a moment to just watch what the others were up to. It wasn’t long before Fergus found himself being asked to play by Katie. He wasn’t quite sure he wanted to at first, but soon they were play bowing and bouncing around. Fergus and Katie only had eyes for each other. They had a blast bouncing off each other and jumping around. Fergus and Katie pretty much played and wrestled for the rest of group.

Ranger was quick to put his nose to the ground and set off to check out all the grassy sections of the yard. After he had made his way all around the yard Ranger headed out to do the same to the far yard. Ranger was very focused on his explorations, but soon became aware of the other dogs in the yard. When they all headed back to the main yard Ranger decided to tag along. Ranger went right back to his exploring though this time he focused on the gravely areas. Eventually he found himself over by the pool. Ranger noticed it was full and was quick to clamber in. He looked quite pleased with himself and was happy to just hang out in the pool while occasionally taking giant mouthfuls of water. Ranger soon found himself surrounded. He hopped out of the pool so others could have a go. Ranger headed back out to do some more exploring. It wasn’t for long though, as soon the pool was empty once more and Ranger was quick to hop right back in.

Zak has got to be the happiest dog in the world. He absolutely loves his days here. We started the morning off with a walk along the trail with his daycare pal Bella. These two definitely led the way, forcing me to lightly jog at some points to keep up to their strong walk. Zak has a strong nose which makes him walk even faster, trying to sniff everything in front of him. In the yard Zak was first out the door, and was full speed ahead for the entire time outside. He was so happy to meet up with Kaos, Justice, and Magic. These four ripped around the yard at intense speeds. In between each race around the yard, Zak was sure to dip in the pool where he fully submerged himself to get as wet as possible. His friends joined him in the pool and he was always sure to get the commotion started again by leaping out of the pool and zooming across the yard, looking for a chase. Zak loves zooming through the tunnel, however today he spotted a new friend Kyah on top of the tunnel. He tried very hard to get on top like her, however his balance wasn’t quite as smooth as hers. Mostly because he’s such a big boy! He finally figured out how to stand on top and he hovered about with his pal Kyah for a while until it was time to head inside.

Kaos had an absolute party today. She was so thrilled to get out in the yard with her daycare pals. She was quick to meet up with Zak. They started by flirting a little bit, however Zak was quick to show her what he really wanted, which was to play. He play bowed, and danced around her until she lunged towards him which encouraged him to dart off. Kaos was right on his toes and these two sped around the yard at very high speeds. Two of their husky friends Justice and Magic joined in on the running too, these four were very speedy. Kaos wasn’t as sure of the pool as her pals were, so she hovered around the pool, taking the odd gulp, while her buddies splashed about. Later on Kaos met back up with Zak around the tunnel and these two played for the remainder of group time. Kaos isn’t as sure of the tunnel as Zak which made for a fun game. Zak kept looping in and out of it causing Kaos to dart back and forth to each end looking for him. She was a very busy girl the whole time she was outside, which resulted in a well-deserved nap back in her kennel.

It’s been a while since I have seen Bella since I have been away. It was so nice to get to hang out with her. She seemed very excited to see me too, mainly because I had a cookie in my hand, I think. We enjoyed our walk on the trail with another daycare friend, Zak. These two were the leaders during the walk, keeping me on my toes as we scurried along the trail. In the yard Bella was quick to meet up with Justice, a very handsome husky. She was so flirty with him. She was flagging her tail for him, and sticking her nose in his ears. She gave him numerous kisses all over his muzzle and then began to dance around him. Justice played hard to get for a while, then finally gave in to her shenanigans. These two zoomed around the yard together, dodging the other dogs and obstacles that came in their way. After a couple laps, Bella made her way to the pool where she cooled off. I always get a kick out of Bella in the pool. She lays down as far as possible and even tries to submerge her head. At one point both she and Zak were in the pool together, sharing the small space like the great pals they are.

Oakley is always a sweet girl to have around. She makes for great company in the yard while her friends zoom around like maniacs. Oakley was happy to briefly explore the yard prior to meeting up with me for some pats and scratches. Today Oakley sat right on my feet while I scratched her ears. My own dog was out in the yard with us and seemed a little jealous of all the attention Oakley was getting so she came over and sat on my other foot. These two kept both my hands very busy for a little bit while I pet and cuddled the two of them. Oakley was very kind and offered me a couples kisses, and a paw, before she headed over to the long grass to relax. She found a nice spot on a patio stone in the sun where she lay down and watched the group play around from a distance.

Finnigan is such a monkey; he is always full of beans and ready to get going with his day. We had a busy walk along the trail with two other friends. Finnigan kept both of them and myself on our toes as he darted back and forth between the two dogs and myself looking for a play mate and attention. It took a little bit for him to remember that walk time isn’t for playing. Once he remembered that, he was full speed ahead for the remainder of the walk until we got back to the gate. In the yard today he was so excited to meet up with his friends Frida. These two really hit it off on Tuesday, and have become two peas in a pod. Their similar size, and behaviour, makes them perfect play mates. They darted around the yard side by side then had a wrestling match. Once all their shenanigans were said and done, Finnigan found himself a bone to lay down with and gnaw on until it was time to head back inside.

Duke is sweet as can be, I enjoy every minute I spend with him very much. This morning we motored along the trail with a friend of his, Frida. These two can be very silly together. They go from walking in a straight line to pouncing around and leaping through the long grass like deer in a field. It always gives me a good laugh. In the yard today Duke was more than happy to hang out with me and accept all the attention he could get. After he got an endless supplies of pets, cuddles, and kisses, he wandered off to check out what his friends were up to. After saying hello to his group mates, he found a good bone and lay down with it. He enjoyed laying in the sun while licking and chewing on the bone until it was time to head inside.

I was so happy to see Kai this morning. She had only been gone a week, however it feels like she’s been gone for so long since she is such great company to have around. Kai was more than ready to get the show on the road this morning. Kai is so well behaved on her walks. She trots by my side for practically the entire time. She loves rolling in the long, long, grass, then running up to me to catch up. Later on she danced out into the yard with her other friends and began sniffing around. When she saw the two other Bernese Mountain Dogs in her group her eyes lit up and she headed straight for them. She flirted with both the boys for a bit and then made her way over to me for some pets and cuddles. Kai was a very good girl and showed off some of her tricks for me in between pets.
