Allie was full of beans today! I went in first thing in the morning to clean up her cubby and give her some breakfast. While I was bent over to pick something up, Allie hopped up on my back and started kneading my sweater! She stayed there until I couldn't keep bent over any longer. A little bit later in the morning, Allie was very happy to do some playing. She purred and meowed at the same time, making this funny little vibrating sound. She was concentrating very hard on catching the toy that I was dangling around for her. While Allie was swatting at the toy from the cat tree, she noticed Katie through the window, standing outside the door holding Julie. I got Katie's attention and she turned around so that Allie could get a good look at Julie. It was so cute watching her as she stood on the very edge of the cat tree, trying to extend herself as far as possible to have a good look at the funny little dog.
Groups
Max and Sadie were so excited to be back to start their week. They went charging out the door and immediately went to see who all was in their group. When their hellos were done, Max and Sadie went racing out to the far yard. They set out to do a little exploring when Justice joined them in the yard. It took about a second before Max was demanding that Justice play with him. Justice was more than happy to run around with Max. Sadie left the boys to their fun and went to do a bit more exploring. Max and Justice eventually needed a break so Max headed off to see what Merida was up to. Once his curiosity was satisfied he went off to do some exploring of his own. Sadie, having gone around the far yard a couple times, made her way back to the main yard. I then called her over. Sadie was more than happy to come trotting over for some pets and attention. Max, not wanting to miss out on anything, came and shoved himself against my legs. When they had had enough love Max and Sadie went to check out the yard some more. That lasted about a minute. Next thing they were ripping around the yard a full speed. They quickly caught Justice and Magic's eye. They then came tearing over to join the fun.
Teddy and Kizmet meandered out into the agility yard. They paused to check out anything that caught their eye. As they were trotting along they took notice of Brenyn. After thoroughly checking her out Kizmet was ready to play. Brenyn took off running and Kizmet wasn't that far behind. Teddy stood watching them for a little while before deciding to join in, albeit at a slower trot. It didn't take much for Teddy's trot to turn into a run. The boys had a great time racing around with Brenyn. Eventually they needed a bit of a break from running. Kizmet was then quick to ask Brenyn if she wanted to wrestle. Teddy decided to leave them to it and headed off to do some exploring. After touring the yard a couple times, Teddy made his way back to Kizmet and Brenyn to try and steal Kizmet away to wrestle.
Titan and George were all about the exploring. As soon as they made it out to the agility yard they split up to check out different parts of the yard. Titan was particularly interested in the kennel in the yard. He spent quite some time checking out before moving on. Titan didn't stay away long before he was back by it. It wasn't just the kennel that his attention, but also all the tasty grass growing from between the links. George was all about checking out as much of the yard as possible. He set out with a very determined air about him. George made his way over to the fence where there was frisbee. I thought that perhaps he was interested in the frisbee, but instead he stepped on it and continued to stay standing on it while he checked out all the cracks and crevices of the rocks. Titan eventually branched off from the kennel and headed out to check out more of the yard. As he was going around he spotted Kizmet and Brenyn playing. Titan took a break from exploring to watch their antics. He then stopped and stared at me. Titan came trotting over wanting some love. When he'd had enough Titan was back to exploring.
Kai went trotting out to the agility yard and immediately went around saying hello to the other dogs. When she was done with that she headed over in my direction for a visit. After Kai had received lots pets she left me to go and see what was going on in the yard. She went and did a little exploring in the grass when she noticed Teddy and Kizmet trying to get Brenyn to wrestle. Kai went trotting over to see what was going on then went back to her explorations. She went around the yard a couple more times before heading back over to my side. Kai leaned against my leg and asked for more pets. Once she was satisfied Kai left me to take up a position in the middle of the yard to just watch. Kai watched the others for a while then retreated to her favourite corner to have some grass. Kai had lots of fun in her afternoon group today as well. She was very happy to see Kyah, who had come to work with Leah for the afternoon. The girls ran around like crazy and wrestled, standing up on their hind legs like they were dancing!
Molly had so much energy when she ran outside and into the agility yard this morning. She and Finnigan raced through the doors and made there way to the agility tunnel where they started to sniff around. Right away, Molly came across a black rubber bone and picked it up to show off to all of the other dogs in her group. She trotted around with it in her mouth for a minute before Finnigan saw and wanted the toy just as much as she did. He an over and started to bounce around her as she ran in circles trying to hold on to her bone before he could snatch it from her. It didn’t take much before Finnigan got his mouth on it and the two began a game of tug a war, they were both pulling as hard as they could for a while as all of the dogs gathered around them to cheer them on. I walked over and took it from both of them and threw the bone across the yard. Finnigan ran off to go and play with another dog while Molly’s attention was still directly on the bone. Finnigan started to roll around on the ground and wrestle with one of the other dogs. They were both loving each other and were having so much fun that they didn’t even take a break. It's a good thing Finnigan got his hair cut or else he would have been plenty more dirty than he got today! Molly spent the rest of her group time with m playing fetch outside. She ran like the wind whenever she went to catch it but always took her time to come back to me.
Shyla and Maverick were both in such good moods today when they got out of their kennel. Maverick ran right up to me in the hallway and jumped up to give me a kiss and say hi before we even got out the door! Shyla waited right beside me and followed me out, while Maverick ran ahead with the others. Once they got outside, Shyla began to wander around the agility yard with Maverick to explore. As Maverick was running from one end of the yard to the other with lots of energy while sniffing out certain parts of the yard, Shyla took it a little more slowly and walked around on her own. She kept coming up to me for cuddles at first while Maverick started to become interested in the other dogs as he watched them play. While two of the dogs were playing tug of war, he ran over and started to circle around them with a big grin on his face as he was so entertained. He kept on jumping at them as Shyla ran over to accompany him and socialize with the other dogs. After they stopped playing tug a war and started up a game where they were rolling around in the dirt and wrestling Maverick joined in but only whenever they began to run. He’s not one that likes to get really dirty and so he waited until they got out of the mud each time to start chasing them. Shyla didn’t join in with them but went off on her own after socializing with everybody to sniff along the rocks.
Ranger had a very nice walk this morning with two of the other dogs, he trotted behind them and tried his best to keep up as they ran ahead, he didn’t mind being slow though as he loves to stop and sniff along the trail. He even went off the path a bit and walked along the tall grass to sniff around in it. During his group outside he had a burst of energy as he first got out the door then started to slow down after a bit. He ran around the yard and said hi to everybody as they started to play. He watched them play for a little bit then went off to do what he does best: explore. As he sniffed along the rocks the others continued to play around him but he didn’t even lift his head up once. He walked over to the grass area and explore there before he trotted back all the way to the door to take a break and relax. He sat there in the shade for a bit before I called him back over to me to say hi. After much thought, Ranger decided to come and use his energy to say hi to me then ran back to the door and waited to go back inside.
