George and Titan had a great time outside with their doggy friends today. The two boys were super happy to be going outside bright and early in the morning. They explored around the rainy yard together. Not long after that, it was time for the boys to go on a walk through the grassy trails. After their walks, their group went outside again for a play time. Titan happily greeted their friends, and George wandered off happily on his own. George really enjoyed exploring as usual, and he loved sniffing around in the long green grass. Every once in a while he'd have a nibble of it too! Titan explored around too, until his friend Boomer came over to him. He began to sniff Titan, and Titan sniffed back. From then on, Boomer followed Titan everywhere. They were inseparable!
Max and Sadie were very excited to come in and play today. In the morning when they arrived, I took them on a walk right away. Max was very excited to go, as well as Sadie. After the walk, they cuddled up onto a cot together for a quick nap. Not long after that, they were out again for their first group rotation. I made them both sit before I let them outside to see their friends, Magic and Justice. Max was so happy to see his friends and went over and licked Justice's ear. Sadie was happy too, and followed behind Max. Sadie wandered into the grassy part of the yard, and began to explore around a deep hole that had been dug into the ground. Meanwhile, Max stood on top of a picnic table and looked down at Justice. He swatted at him from up high, then jumped off the picnic table to chase him around.
Lola was super happy to get cuddles today. When she arrived this morning, she went on her walk right away with Magic and Duke. They all had a wonderful time walking through the trails together. A little while later, it was time for her to go outside with her group play time for the first time. She was very happy to see me outside, and quickly ran over for some cuddles first thing. From then on, Lola enjoyed following me as I went around the yard. Every time I stopped walking I would make sure to give her a cuddle. When the other dogs in her group started playing, Lola was jumping around and barking with excitement.
Vasco had a great first day. When he arrived this morning, he settled in for a bit then went on a walk on the trails with his new friend Tallee. He really enjoyed the walk. After that, it was time for him to meet his new friends in his outdoor play group. He was so excited, and sniffed everyone happily. In particular, he enjoyed sniffing Pedro. Vasco leaped around Pedro and tried to get him to play. Pedro would pounce back at him and then Vasco would run off. Vasco also enjoyed playing with Bentley and Twister. They would all run around together. After that outdoor rotation, Vasco came up front with me for his extra attention. He sniffed some toys when he first got into the room. I got a few treats for him and got him to do some tricks. He really seemed to enjoy the yummy treats. Then he came over to have a cuddle with me. I could tell he loved having his back scratched by the way that his tail would whip back and forth.
Twister had an awesome day with friends. In the morning, Twister had a great time outside during his first outdoor group rotation with his pal Pedro. After that, it was time for walks. Twister enjoyed a one on one walk today. Not too long after his walk, it was again time for Twister to go outside with his group for an outdoor play time. This time, there were a few new friends in the group. Twister happily greeted the new friends. He really took an interest in Vasco and Lola. Pedro came over to Twister and pounced at him playfully. They ran around for a while together. Twister really enjoyed playing with his friend Bentley as well. He ran over to Bentley and started to pounce around at him. Bentley stood there with his ears perked up, then suddenly jumped at Twister. They began to play, and seemed to have a lot of fun.
Shyla and Maverick were glad to see that the rain had stopped by the time it was their turn outside. Both of them trotted into the yard with their heads held high and set out to explore. Maverick must have discovered something quite interesting because he spent a while sniffing around by the fence. The grass was still damp and once he had finished sniffing, there were water droplets all over his nose. Shyla decided that she’d rather check out the agility yard and headed over there with a few other dogs and I. She made her way to the grassy area and started to nose about. After a few minutes, she saw everyone else getting attention and didn’t want to be left out, so Shyla came running over to stand nearby and wait until it was her turn. Maverick suddenly raced into the agility yard and splashed right through a puddle. The two of them sat beside me for the rest of groups and got plenty of cuddles while we watched everyone else wander around.
Poppy was so excited to get outside with her group. She went leaping out the door and made a beeline for the fence, where she proceeded to thoroughly sniff and nibble the grass. I tried catching her interest with a toy, and Poppy came hurrying over to see what I was waving about, but she decided that the Frisbee wasn’t for her and continued to wander around. The others in her group were also feeling a bit quiet today, so Poppy had plenty of company while she explored. After she had checked out everything there was to see in the agility yard, Poppy made her way towards me for some attention. I gave her a nice long backrub and she was so happy she couldn’t keep her feet still! After Poppy had her fill of cuddles, we headed over to the main yard again and Poppy occupied herself by checking out this new space.
Molly K. wasted no time finding a toy as soon as we got outside. She went bounding through a puddle, splashed water on everyone nearby, and then pounced into the grass. After a bit of sniffing around, Molly managed to dig up a Frisbee. She picked it up and carried it over to me. Molly had a great time attempting to catch the Frisbee while I tossed it for her. A few times she managed to stop it in mid-air and then snatch it up once it landed on the ground, and she even grabbed it out of the air once or twice. Whenever it was too high over her head for her to reach it, she still had fun chasing after it. At one point it landed flat in the grass and Molly wasn’t quite able to get a hold of the edge, so she attempted to dig with her feet instead. It didn’t work as well as she hoped. I headed over to retrieve the toy and we played a few more rounds of fetch before Molly paused for a break, and spent some time cuddling with me.
Duke was so excited to get out with his friends. He wasn’t even fazed by the rain and went racing into the agility yard with no hesitation. Everyone else followed right behind him, eager to get the play started. Luckily for Duke, the rest of the dogs had just as much energy as he did and they all wanted to play! Before he could run around with them, though, Duke had to come over and say hello to me. Then he trotted a quick lap of the yard to sniff out anything interesting and make sure that everything was in order. After that, he jumped right into a game of chase with Lilo and Charlotte. Duke ran around with them for a while and then noticed Harvey playing with a Frisbee, and hurried over to see if he could play also. The two of them had quite the challenge picking it up off the ground. They took turns pouncing on it and eventually decided that they’d much rather chase each around. Duke spent the rest of group time going back and forth between sniffing around the grass or racing all over the yard with the other dogs.
Lilo certainly has a lot of energy! She had disappeared into the agility yard as soon as we got outside, but soon came flying back to say hi to me. I had her sit nicely for a picture and then I spent some time petting her. Lilo was way too excited to stay still for very long, so after a brief cuddle, she was racing away again. First Lilo jogged around the yard and did a quick once-over of everything. Then she saw Kasper looking for a friend and bounded towards him. Both of them stood completely still for a moment, then they play-bowed and pounced on each other. Lilo wrestled and ran around with Kasper for a while and then moved on to other friends. She played chase with Charlotte, Harvey and Duke, and had a great time spinning, leaping and showing off her moves. Everyone calmed down for a few minutes after that – they were all plenty tired – and Lilo trotted over to me for some attention. Not too much later, the entire group was racing around the yard again.
Tallee had a nice walk this morning with her new friend Vasco. At first both of them just trotted side by side and took their time sniffing the grass. About halfway through the walk, they both got a sudden burst of energy. Tallee spun around in a circle and then play-bowed to Vasco, who wasted no time pouncing on her. By the time we reached the end of the walk, I had two tired, happy dogs and a big mess of tangled leashes. Tallee had a quick nap and then was raring to go once it was time for groups. She explored the yard for a little bit and occasionally joined in on a game of chase when the other dogs ran past her. She also made sure to spend plenty of time cuddling with me. Then Tallee bumped into Kasper and soon they were wrestling with each other. Kasper was much bigger than Tallee, but she certainly showed Kasper how it’s done. After that, the rest of the dogs had started a big game of chase around the entire yard and Tallee wasted no time jumping into the middle of it.
Charlotte got to hang out with the big guys today. At first she was a tiny bit shy but soon she opened up and started playing with Harvey, who was about her size. They wrestled and ran around non-stop for quite a while. Eventually Harvey paused for a break, but Charlotte seemed to have an endless supply of energy and went hunting for another friend to play with. She forgot all about being shy and pounced on the first dog she saw. Luckily, Lilo was also looking for a playmate. The girls chased each other across the yard and caught the attention of Duke, who soon joined in. Harvey returned not too much later, and soon Charlotte was right in the middle of everyone and she was having a great time! She played a bit more with Lilo, then she moved on to Lyla, and even attempted to tackle Kasper, who was more than double her size. Charlotte certainly made lots of new friends today.
Kasper did great on his first day! All of the dogs were delighted to meet a new friend. He trotted around the yard and say hello to everyone, and then made his way over to cuddle with me for a bit. After that, Kasper headed out to explore the yard. He hadn’t been sniffing for that long before he bumped into Lilo. Soon they were wrestling and chasing each other around. Eventually Lilo moved on and Kasper continued to check out any interesting scents that he could find. He played a bit with Charlotte, Harvey and Duke when the three of them ran past him, but he seemed quite content to just sniff around with the company of a few quieter dogs. Then Kasper decided that he was ready to join in the action again, and went bounding towards Lyla. She jumped to the side and Kasper almost crashed into Tallee. They pounced on each other right away and had a brief wrestling match. After that, Kasper ran around with Tallee and Lyla for a bit.
