Groups:

Bella M. and Jake did a quick tour of the main yard then made a beeline out to the far yard. They were quick to put their noses to the ground and set off in search of something exciting. They went all around the yard checking everything out. Bella and Jake then decided to make to make their way back to the main yard to give it a proper once over. Once that was completed, Jake went racing out to the far yard. He caught Pippin’s eye and she went charging over to see what he was up to. When Bella came racing through shortly after, she also found herself being inspected. Jake and Bella made their way over to the fence and spent some time exploring the nearby area. Bella also spent some time staring out beyond the fence. Once Jake had seen enough he headed over in my direction for some pets and cuddles. His attention was the caught by Higgins. Jake went trotting over to see what Higgin’s was up to. When it didn’t look like he wanted to play, Jake put his nose back to the ground. Feeling a little warm Bella and Jake decided to make their way to the shady section. After he had cooled down a bit Jake headed back out to do some more exploring.

Pippin and Penny headed outside and got right to checking out the yard. When they came across a dog they would stop to say hello before their noses hit the ground once more. Not wanting me to feel left out, they both took turns coming over to say hi and get some pets. After thoroughly going over the main yard Pippin and Penny made their way towards the far yard. Their attention was soon snagged by something near the fence. They spent some time giving it a very thorough once over. Pippin finished with it first and entered the far yard. Penny noticed her sister had moved on and was quick to enter the yard after that. Once more their noses were to the ground and they were off in search of something amazing. Penny spotted me crouched down. She quickly made her way over to ask for lots of pets and cuddles. Pippin continued her explorations. She was distracted from her search when Jake went racing across the yard. Pippin went charging over to see what he was up to. Bella was next to come racing in to the yard and so Pippin left Jake to go and check on Bella. Penny having had enough, love decided to head back out and continue her exploring. She ended up making her way over to where Bella and Julie were hanging out by the entrance to the yard. They spent a bit of time hanging out together. Pippin went and joined Penny. The two of them then decided to head back to the main yard to explore some more. Penny and Pippin did take a break from exploring to come over for some more pets.

Boris and Tasha were so excited to get out for group. Less then a minute after they got out to the agility yard, Justice and Magic tackled Boris. Next thing they were off booking it around the yard. Tasha trotted along after them, but decided not join in the fun right that moment. Boris, his half siblings and Bella continued to have a blast racing and wrestling around the yard. Tasha left them to it and went to go and do a little exploring. Bella left the fun and headed over to meet up with Tasha. They spent some time saying hello, and then Tasha wandered off to continue exploring. A little while later Boris needed a bit of a break from the racing and made his way over to the pool where the labs were hanging out. He quickly decided he did not want to get in and instead went to go do some exploring. Tasha wasn’t far behind Boris in going to check out the pool. She helped herself to a drink then went to meet up with Boris. Feeling refreshed and full of energy once more, Boris took off to race around with Justice and Magic. Tasha decided she didn’t want to miss out on the fun this time and went tearing after them. It wasn’t long before she needed a bit of a breather. Tasha stopped to watch her kids continue to race around. Pedro went over to join her and see and see how she was doing. Soon Bella and Boris came over as well. After a little socializing they decided to make their way to the pool to cool off. Boris still wasn’t sure about actually going in the pool, but he was happy for a drink. Magic went tearing past. Boris, not wanting to miss out, went tearing after her. He then found himself being pounced on by Bella. Boris was more than happy to play with her and soon they were having a great time together. When Bella went diving in the pool Boris finally got up the nerve to hop in the pool. He quickly realized he rather loved it and proceeded to splash around like a crazy. Tasha went and hopped into the pool with them making it rather snug. Boris eventually got out to run around some more, but Tasha was content to hang out in the pool with Bella for a while.

Bella T. went trotting out to the agility yard. All most as soon as she got out there Bella spotted Boris, Magic, and Justice playing. Bella went bouncing over to see about joining in. She raced around with them for a little while before deciding to go and wander the yard a bit. Bella met up with Tasha and spent a little time hanging out with her. Phoebe hopping in the pool quickly caught her attention. Bella went racing over to hop in the pool as well. She was quick to submerge herself as much as possible. Phoebe ended up hopping out so Bella had the pool to herself momentarily. It wasn’t long before Justice was in the pool with her. Once Bella was sufficiently wet she hopped out of the pool and set off to do a little exploring. When Boris, Magic, Justice and Tasha went ripping around the yard, Bella was quick to go tearing after them. When Tasha stopped running, Bella made her way over to see what was going on. Shortly after that Bella ended up back in the pool. Feeling extra frisky Bella went racing off to see about getting Boris to play with her. Soon the two of them were having a great time. Of course after all that playing they had to go and cool of in the pool.

Maverick and Shyla were so excited to go for their walk this morning with me. Shyla was maybe a little too excited as she kept on jumping up on my back to give me kisses as I was trying to hook the leash on her collar. On the trail the two of them tried to reach up to the dogs that were ahead of us the entire time so instead of walking we jogged along the trail until we came inside. The jog wore them out and once they got back into their kennel they both had a lot to drink then went to lay on their beds. During their group outside, Maverick scurried off to go sniff along the building while Shyla chased the dogs into the further grass yard. She ran to the middle then started to look around as if she was wondering what she wanted to do. She began to sniff around the grass when I went to take a seat on one of the big rocks. I called both her and Maverick over to me and they skipped over to give me some cuddles. Shyla would reach her head down for me to pet it then jump back as if she was teasing me, while Maverick was loving the cuddles so much that he kept on spinning around between my legs to get cozy and for me to pet his bum. At the same time he wanted his bum scratched he tried to give me kisses, but unfortunately he wasn’t that flexible.

Reese was such a good boy out in the yard today. He’s been opening up slowly each day he’s been here and has gotten more and more comfortable in the yard. Today when he walked out the door he was so excited to see everyone that he ran into the agility yard and ran up to all of the dogs to say hi quickly before he walked off on his own. He kept walked to the door then back over to the yard as he was exploring. Every once in a while when I called him over to me he would come running with a big smile on his face. He couldn’t be pet for too long though since he’d get distracted each time and go run off to see another dog or sniff around more. When I was sitting by the pool I called him over and he started to sniff around it curiously. Right as one of the other dogs jumped in he started to like the idea of it more and dipped one of his paws in. After waiting a little bit as he had one foot in he decided it was time to go all the way in the water and hopped right in with the others. He walked around in it to cool off before jumping back out.

Tsavo and Cai are both so much fun to have whenever they're here. When I took them out for their walk this morning, Cai just couldn’t stop running around and jumping up in their kennel because he was so excited to go outside. Tsavo wanted to let me know she was excited by barking as well. The two walked so well together and took their time along the trail to smell all in the bushes and explore. During groups outside, Tsavo was quite energetic. She ran into the agility yard and began to chase Finnigan around the yard when he got one of his toys. She was trying to get it from him and whenever we were playing fetch she’d run after the ball then stop half way there and give up. I called her over to me to give her some love and she came to me with a big smile on her face. Cai was being his super cute self, too. Whenever he saw me petting another dog he would run as fast as he can over to me and bump them out of the way so he would get all of my attention. When he wasn’t giving me lots of kisses he was running around the tall grass in the agility yard. He stuck his nose to the ground and smelt along the grass, Tsavo ran over at one point and join in to keep him company.

Finnigan was so playful and energetic out in the yard today, which doesn’t surprise me at all. He always loves to run around and socialize and play with everyone that is willing to which makes him such a fun dog to have here for daycare during the week. He ran out of his kennel and started to run up and down the hallway a bunch of times before he even made it outside. When he got to the agility yard he began to run around in circles as some of the dogs chased him. He ran through the agility tunnel as fast as he could. Duke saw him from across the yard as he was smelling the plants and stopped what he was doing completely to go chase after him. As Finnigan was running around he noticed a green ball on the ground and scooped it up while Duke was chasing him. He brought it into the tunnel and Duke sat outside of it to wait for him. When he got out he ran over to the pool to cool off. Duke went over when he saw that Finnigan was there and sniffed around the bottom of the pool. I don’t think he wanted to go in it though and stayed on the edge of it with me. I gave him some cuddles as he attacked my face with lots of kisses. Unfortunately he drools a lot and that went all over me as well. After that he started to wander around again and say hi to the dogs that he wasn’t playing with before he walked over to the door to sit in the shade.

Extra Attention:

Reese was such a happy boy during his extra attention today. I woke him up from a nap as I went into his kennel to take him outside. We walked up and down the driveway once before I put him on the long line where we sat in the grass together. At first he started to wander around and smell everything very curiously, each time I called his name he would come running over and stand beside me for a second before wandering off again to sniff around more. When he settled down he sat in the grass beside me as I gave him lots of cuddles and scratched his back. He’s so cute and always has such a huge smile on his face whenever somebody pets him. I tried to get him to play with one of the rope toys but each time I held it up he would jump up to try and bite it then drop it on the ground and wait for me to do it again.  After we were done outside I took him to hang around the front reception with me for a little while since it was so hot outside. I think he likes being inside a lot more as well whenever it’s really hot out.

Bella was very wiggly and happy when it was her turn to come and hang out for her extra attention time. She trotted out on her leash to go for a wander around in the front field. We did a loop around in the long grass before going to hang out on the long rope in the front yard. I tossed a couple of toys for Bella but she was more focused on chasing than catching. Once we started to feel the heat, I took Bella inside for a drink and some more one-on-one time. She sniffed around the front room, smelling all of the dogs that had passed through this morning. She was then approached by Julie, who she met yesterday. She wasn't too sure about Julie since she was in her wheelchair. Bella took her time to inspect Julie's chair before settling down on the floor. Some of the other staff and I gave her tons of pets and love (and a few treats) before it was time to head back for an afternoon snooze.
