I was excited to see Ammo’s sweet face again bright and early this morning. He had so much fun yesterday and he was back to do it all over again! To start his morning off, he headed out for a trail walk with new Husky friend Sky. Sky is a little bit slower than Ammo, so he would loop back around and encourage Sky to keep up! Ammo has so much fun-loving energy and he was excited to head back outside to see which friends he would meet today. Het met up with Kai the sweet Berner and Kane the energetic Weimaraner and the three of them were fast friends! Kai is always cool, calm and collected but I could see her little bum start to wiggle as Ammo approached her. It’s always the young energetic ones that seem to bring out the playful side in Kai and boy let me tell you she has a playful side! Ammo just adored Kai and would run over and give her a good nose nuzzle to say hello, but he saved all his crazy energy for Kane! I knew Kane and Ammo would hit it off right away, they are both young energetic males who love to run laps! Kane started his usual sprints around the yard and this quickly got the attention of Casper and Ammo who tried to keep up. Good luck boys, Kane is a fast one! Lots of goofy smiles from Kane again today, I love to snap photos of him mid-run, they always give me a good giggle and instantly puts a smile on my face.
We did something a little different today for Kai's extra attention. Instead of bringing her for a walk or up front, Nicki brought Kai out into the yards so that she could have all of the space to herself. I could tell that she was ecstatic as she trotted down the hallway and immediately out the door. Kai ventured around all three yards a couple times before settling down beside Nicki. She was then ready for all of the TLC she could get. Nicki gave her a long belly rub, ear rub as well as a back scratch and she loved every minute of it. Once they got back inside, Kai got a couple treats and was ready to return back into her kennel. 

Boris and Tasha had a beautiful and relaxing trail walk this morning first thing upon arrival. They weren’t as eager to rush their way along the trail and preferred to sniff out their surroundings. When we finally made it back around, they were ready for a quick rest before they headed back out for some play with Husky friend Isis and Sky and unlikely pal Charly. Charly and Boris have bonded over the past couple of weeks and they enjoy running laps around the yard together! Tasha is always eager to catch Boris on the other side of the yard as he whips by. It’s a tough job trying to keep up with that young son of hers, but let me tell you, she enjoys every minute of it, huffing and puffing along the way.

Barney had another fun filled day; he has been with us for some time now and enjoying every day surrounded with all his favourite small four-legged friends. He was excited to see sweet little Amber and Iris who were joining us for the day. The three of them joined forces and started their day off right with a morning trail walk. Barney loves his walks, its probably his favourite part of the day, especially when he has such good company. He could see that little Amber was a little shy, but she happily accepted a kiss from Barney who encouraged her to pick up the pace, it was so sweet! Sure enough Amber grew her confidence and started leading the pack with her ears perked right up. Iris was happily trotting behind her sister Amber, and the wind was blowing in her hair! This happy trio were ready to meet up again a short while later for a play session outside, but this time they were joined by daycare pals Tag and Shelby. Amber excitedly followed her confident sister Iris around the yard like she usually does, and Iris made her way over for her usual cuddles. Amber isn’t quite ready for cuddles just yet, but she does come closer every time. Amber, Iris and Barney had a morning full of entertainment today just watching silly Tag chase and play with Shelby across the yard. Tag loves to play and today was no different, she was thrilled to have a little buddy to keep up with her like Shelby. Shelby got a case of the zoomies and started sprinting into the far yard, Tag went chasing after her. Amber, Iris and Barney followed along but made sure not to get in the path of chaos, Barney found a comfortable seat on top of the picnic table to watch! Tag was wiggling and moving all morning long, and was in need of an afternoons rest before she headed back out to chase Shelby for the rest of the afternoon.  
Barney was thrilled for his extra attention today and raced to the front reception area. With a big smile on his face he pranced around the desk buzzing with energy. I clipped a leash on to his collar and we headed out front to the grass. I sat in the grass with Barney and he contently sat in front of me enjoying cuddles and a nice back massage. He lifted his nose high into the air to take in the fresh smells of spring. Barney continued to laze in the grass relaxing until it was time to go back inside. 

April loves to spend her time outdoors and in good company of course. She is definitely a sucker for human attention and happily follows you around the yard. Who could resist that sweet face, she was my sidekick for most of the morning and happily accepted head rubs as we watched the daycare crew run circles around us. Well she had to fight for my attention, because daycare lady Oakley was in in the mood to cuddle and the two of them were both at my sides vying for my attention. But I was on the move as well, just trying to keep up with Sophie, Finn and Nyxx who were all chasing after the ball. April then found a comfortable spot to lounge out in the sun for the most part of the morning. Oakley ran over and sniffed out pal Nyxx who was guarding the orange tennis ball. Well of course Finn wanted the ball and when he didn’t succeed at stealing it away, he would roll over on his back in protest and start pawing at the air. He did this a couple times when he met up with April, he couldn’t believe how big she was and was very submissive around her, what a character that one is. Not only did Finn want to steal the ball away from Nyxx, but so did Sophie. Sophie may be a little bit older than the pair but she loves to play fetch and those great big ears of hers would perk up every time I mentioned the “B” word. Luckily she was able to get the ball in her mouth a couple of times and she was very proud that she was able to steal it away from Nyxx the macho Husky. Bella was excited to see Nyxx our male Husky out in the yard today, she remembers how much fun she had with him last time and she immediately ran over and jumped up on his back to entice him to play. She got a few good wrestles out of him, but his attention was mostly pre-occupied with the ball. But when they would wrestle, they jumped up and danced the tango, it was hilarious to watch! Luckily Bella had lots of friends in the yard today to keep her busy since Nyxx’ attention was somewhere else. Bella is one of our regular Wednesday daycare pals and she is basically family to us now, and we will miss her!

April loves when it comes time for her extra attention. Today I took her for a stroll outside and boy was she ever happy. April took me wherever her nose lead her in the front field. We walked all over the place, from one end of the field to the other April was ready to venture. After we spent a while walking around, April decided it was time to relax out in the sun. She brought us over to a sunny spot on the hill we have out front. After immediately laying down, I could tell she wanted a belly rub. I ended up giving April a good long belly rub until she was ready to go back inside. After a few treats inside, I brought April back to her kennel for an afternoon snooze.
