Kouza's group was very happy to head up to
the indoor playroom to stay out of the rain. She likes to follow her nose
around to pick up all of the good scents, and there were plenty for her to find
around the room. Kouza came across another dog, who was perched on a cot bed.
He was rolling around and being silly, and Kouza stood at his side, tilting her
head back ans forth to determine what this goofball was up to. I went over and
gave Kouza some pets while she listened to the other dog and his antics. Once she
was finished her observations, I offered Kouza a couple of different toys to
see if she was interested in any of them. She opted to continue exploring, so I
left her to it for the time being. I went back to see her when she went to look
out the window into the wet yard. I gave Kouza a good back and bum scratch
while she peered out at the rain. It was nice to be on the inside of that
window today, that's for sure!
Max and Sadie were extra excited for their playgroup today because we got to stay inside and have some fun in the playroom! It's always an exciting day when this pair gets to rumble around indoors. They each had a good sniff around the room before settling down on opposite sides, Sadie on the couch and Max on the cot. They relaxed for a little bit until Max sprung up from his bed and ran full tilt over to Sadie. He pounced up on the couch, tackling Sadie and starting up a wrestling match. Sadie got up and started running around the room with Max chasing after her. After plenty of rolling and wrestling, Max hopped back on the cot to take a little rest and Sadie went back to the couch. She didn't stay there long, though and flew back across the room to jump on Max. I threw some toys for them and Sadie chased after the orange rubber one a few times, but Max quickly had her wrestling once again.
Beauty is such a funny little girl! I brought her up to the reception area before her first group time in the playroom and she howled a sweet and funny little song to me. I went and got a new friend from his kennel to introduce to Beauty in the playroom. Finnigan is the sweetest boy and he was a perfect gentleman while Beauty got used to having a friend in the room. She was a bit hesitant around him at first, but Finnigan rolled onto his back and let her give him a good head to toe sniff before he got back up again. We spent our time in the playroom getting acquainted and comfortable with one another and Beauty did a great job! Finnigan joined me on the couch for some extra special one on one cuddles while his new friend explored the room. It was a great first group for Beauty, and Finn is always happy for cuddles!

Birdie is such a joyful pup and has endless
amounts of energy to bring to her daily groups. She was thrilled to see new
Husky friend Ayla again out in the yard this morning, they have become the best
of pals and together they whipped up a storm around the yard. It was a cold and
rainy day, but that didn’t stop spirited Birdie from having fun and when she
wasn’t wrestling with Ayla, she was literally hopping around the yard. I love
to watch her ears flap in the wind! The rain didn’t let up this afternoon, so
she enjoyed some time in the warm playroom and to no surprise, her and Ayla
were the centre of the attention and had a blast running around searching for
toys together. Birdie joined a few of her friends in the playroom to keep dry
this afternoon. She found a favourite toy right away, of course! She and Ayla
played keep away with the stuffy for their whole indoor time.
Kai enjoyed her morning with her favorite
four legged friends and she was excited to meet a new face to the group today
and it was that of Colin the Shepherd. Kai is always very welcoming to the new
friends of the group and always makes them feel comfortable as she carries the
most pleasant smile and exudes such a calm and friendly demeanor. While most of
the pups tried to take shelter from all the rain, Kai embraced the rain and
happily sauntered and explored the yard and let the rain trickle down her head.
Kai spent her afternoon indoors so she could dry off and enjoy her time in the
playroom and of course for her extra attention session, lots of cuddles came
her way! After a wet and rainy morning, Kai was ready for some relaxation time in the playroom. I towelled her off a little bit and then set up the treat puzzle for her to nose around at. Kai ate up all of the cookies in no time! She then went straight for the couch, where she rolled around on her back, getting as comfy as possible. I sat down with Kai and she nudged my hand, asking me to pet her head. I obliged, of course, and Kai seemed content to stay right there on the couch for the rest of her extra attention time.
Teddie and Kizmet were excited to meet up
with fellow brothers Fez and Rex for a morning of play outside in the rain. Most
of our big-dog guests like Ted and Kiz couldn’t be bothered by the rain and
continued on with their usual routine outside. Teddie and Kiz were very
determined to play with Bear and together they excitedly followed him around the
yard and gave him a few paws to the back until he turned around and joined in
the wrestle. They were very pleased with that! Meanwhile, silly Rex was
pursuing Husky pal Nyxx, since these two always have a great time leaping
around the yard together. But Fez couldn’t let his brother have all the fun. He
tried his best to keep up and he is a determined one let me tell you; nothing
will slow this one down! Like the rest of our boarding guests, Ted, Kiz, Fez
and Rex each had a turn in the playroom this afternoon and boy did they love
it! Both Teddie and Kizmet spent their time relaxing in the warmth as they
watched the rain get heavier outside by the big window, while Fez and Rex were
up on their feet most of the time, both of them very curious about the big
bucket of toys. Rex was thrilled that he had his pick from the bin!
The ladies of the group April and Sophie
weren’t as thrilled about the rain as the boys were. They did make their way
out into the grassy yard but with much encouragement. As long as I was standing
out there with them they were happy but they always had one eye on me to make
sure I was sticking around. These two girls are both cuddle monsters and
happily followed me into the gravel yard where we found some shelter from the
rain. I had two very soggy but two very happy ladies on either side of me and
they were the best company to have on this gloomy Monday. We sat there together
and watched the rest of the group run circles in the rain, and if I took one
moments rest from scratching either of their heads, they nudged back at me in
protest! When it was time to go back inside, Sophie excitedly ran into her
kennel and curled up on her bed for an afternoons rest, while April happily
followed me up front for her extra attention session, more time to cuddle! Later
in the afternoon, Sophie and April were both pleased to see that they would be
spending some time inside in the playroom! Sophie loved looking out the window
at the drizzle in between pet sessions.
April was very happy to spend most of her afternoon up front in the reception area for her extra attention session. Lots of moving bodies around and that meant extra hands free to pet her with! She was very happy to dry off after coming from her group out in the rain and she found a comfy spot on the floor to relax. She then made her way over to the window to the grooming salon where good pal Luna was getting a bath and April found this quite amusing to watch from the other side of the door! Aprils eyes started to get heavy and sure enough she dozed off for a quick rest.
Allie was having a relaxing snooze in her bed when I came into the cat room for her extra attention session this afternoon. She looked down at me as I approached her condo and she gave me a nice long stretch as she started to wake up. She graciously accepted head rubs and gave me a few loud purrs in usual Allie fashion. She has some new cat neighbours named Linus and Remi and she is very curious about them. You can hear them chatting back and forth all day long. Even though Allie doesn't have to go out in the rain, she is definitely having a lazy rainy day inside; it's the perfect day to curl up and snooze!
