Jemma had a lot of fun today. She was eager
to arrive and see all her favourite staff members. After bundles of cuddles she
patiently waited for her walk. Jemma loved walking with Tsavo and Cai. These
two shepherds were a great match for her, and the three led me on some adventures along the trails. Jemma was very bouncy on her walk today, leaping
through puddles and sniffing around all the trees with a wagging tail and happy
ears. She was much the same in the yard today. Jemma was thrilled to
investigate the yard before meeting up for some fun. She was all over Spencer
as he raced after a ball. She ended up racing around the yard with him and
Teddy soon joined in. Jemma loved all the attention Spencer was giving her and
was sure to hang around him for a while. She was then happy to sniff and
explore the perimeter of the yard where all the fresh grass is growing. She
also loved wandering over top of the pallets and poking her nose through the
gaps. She made a good fun game of that before making her way to me for some
pets and cuddles.
Spencer was happy to get out for his
morning walk with Teddy. The daycare duo motored along the trail with wagging
tails. In the yard Spencer took his time sniffing and exploring. He loved all
the fresh grass growing, as well as the squishy mud beneath his feet. Spencers
interests quickly turned when he spotted me lifting up a ball. I rinsed it off
under the hose as he danced around me. He was eager for me to launch it and get
a game of fetch going. Spencer competed with Justice for the ball with smiles
on their faces. They alternated retrieving it, which led them to some good
chasing and wrestling. Marley was interested in Spencer's bouncy attitude and joined
in on his fun. From here, Jemma too joined in. Jemma and Spencer then broke off
for some racing and running. After loads of laps around the yard Spencer took a
break on a patio stone to catch his breathe before some more fun started up.
Teddy never stops running and he is always
smiling, too. He loves being a part of all the action going on, and is always
sure to try his best to keep everyone in line. He was extra smiley today, and I
got some good photos of his happy face. Teddy loved watching Spencer, Justice,
and Jemma race around after the ball. He was sure to stay right on their tails
keeping a close eye on all their shenanigans. After he raced and raced around
he finally found a good spot in the yard to lie down and relax. He was happy to
accept pets and cuddles before heading indoors for a nap.
Keegan is always so excited to get going on
his walk. The second he sees us walk down the hall with leashes in hand, he
knows what’s up. He was bouncing all over before I even entered his kennel.
After he settled down I clipped him up and we head out with friends, Scout and
Resa. Keegan motored along the trail with his nose to the ground, weaving left
and right. In the yard he was happy to sniff and wander. As it warmed up he
made his way further into the yard with a wagging tail. Keegan was mostly happy
to sit by my feet and accept pets and cuddles. Keegan was very excited to come up front for his extra
attention time this afternoon. After racing up to the front reception, Keegan
was surprised to see that we were going into the playroom instead. As soon as
we got into the playroom Keegan sniffed everywhere from one end of the room to the other. After giving the whole place an overall sniff, Keegan was ready to receive some treats. We played with the puppy puzzle from quite some time. Keegan wasn't the best at getting the treats out of the puzzle the way he was supposed to but he ended up finding a way to successfully get the treats. Instead of moving the puzzle pieces around, Keegan decided to flip the puzzle over so that all of the treats would come out. What a smart boy. After he had eaten the rest of the treats, Keegan was ready to show me some tricks for a few extra treats. He did an excellent job of sitting and laying down. AT the end of is extra attention time, Keegan and I snuggled in the playroom so a little while. Every time I pet him, Keegan would spin in circles. I'm not so sure he knew exactly which part of him he wanted scratched; he just kept ensuring that every part of him would be!
Maggie is so cute. She started her outdoor
time off by slowly wandering around. As I picked up a toy to bring indoors her
ears perked up and she bolted towards me. I was so surprised to see her so
perky and excited over a stuffy. From here, the games began and didn’t end. She
loved playing tug with me and leaping all over me to get the stuffy out of my
hands. I had a good time tossing it around for her. She bounced to the toy like
a deer in a field. She was so cute perching up on a boulder checking the toy
out, too. Her ears stood up in the wind as she stared at the elephant, and it was
adorable. She was happy to carry the toy around for a while until she ran into her
brother Jack, who was very set on sniffing and exploring today. Despite Maggie’s
best efforts to include him in her fun, he left her to wander around the
perimeter of the yard. Jack was a big
fan of all the fresh grass growing. He spent some time digging and some more
time trying to snag any grass and
branches through the fence. At this time, he met up with little Shelby who
distracted him, as she was very interested in him. Jack was eager to have such
a cute lady pay so much attention to him. They briefly danced around before
Maggie swooped in. Maggie and Jack then took off together to sniff and explore
some more before heading indoors for a mid morning nap.
Jack and Maggie had a whole new room to explore for their extra attention time today. The indoor playroom is big and has lots interesting smells to investigate. They spent some time wandering around the room and then jumped up onto the couch and looked out the window that looks into the reception area. Every time they saw a face looking back at them, their little tails wagged. I sat on the floor and they came to my feet so that we were all comfy for a session of head rubs. After they were more relaxed, it was time to head outside for another play time with their new friends.

Maya and Rocky were so excited to have the
biggest kennel today. They had a big cot, and big bed, which they took full
advantage of. Maya enjoyed a long walk with schnauzer friends, Maggie and Jack.
Rocky was happy to enjoy a short sniff instead. In the yard, both Maya and
Rocky enjoyed sniffing and exploring. I coaxed Rocky into the grassy yard but
he was quick to make his way back to the gravel yard to relax. Maya was sure to
stay close by him Shelby tried her hardest to get Maya to play. Maya gave in for
a couple seconds by wagging her tail and moving her paws up and down. This only
lasted for a brief period before she changed her mind on the playing. Shelby
continued to try until she realized Maya was much happier sniffing and
exploring on her own. Maya was then keen to accept pets and cuddles from me.
Rocky made his way to my side as I was knelt down with Maya to get in on some
cuddle time, too.
Max and Sadie were their usual goofy selves
this morning and ready as ever to get outside to explore and play around the
yard! Max and Sadie are part of our family now since we have the pleasure of
seeing them everyday and today it was all about cuddles! While Max and Sadie
were off exploring the yard, I took a seat on Sadie’s favourite rock to see if
she would notice and sure enough, she excitedly ran over and joined me for some
hugs and kisses. Well Max couldn’t let Sadie have all the attention and he
jumped up on the other side of the rock and started kissing my other cheek.
That was until they both heard someone walking the back trail and they ran over
to the fence to watch Leah, Kyah and Summit have an afternoon walk!
Issy and Mocha were delighted when I
approached their kennel door this morning with leashes in hand, which meant they
were off for their morning trail walk. Mocha could hardly contain her
excitement for her favourite part of the day! A little while later the girls
headed back out again for their group outing and Issy was excited to see some
familiar Husky faces, that of Maya, Teetu and Korvo! A quick hello with a sniff
to the face and she was off exploring the far yard in usual fashion. Meanwhile,
Mocha of course took a seat by the door but had lots of friendly faces coming
over to say hello, both Juno and Maya kept her company and gave lots of kisses
to the face!
Ms. Kimi was in an exceptionally frisky mood
this morning and today was the day that she let her playful side come out! I
mean how could she resist with silly fellow Husky pal Lola in her group! Lola
and Charlotte were excitedly wrestling in and around the play structure and
Kimi was anxiously watching on the sidelines just waiting to make her move. Suddenly, out of nowhere, she was off chasing Lola in the far yard with Charlotte and
Cai trailing behind. She had so much fun running out her energy this morning
that she didn’t even hesitate to come back inside when called, she skipped out
on the sass today!
