Nyxx was really energetic today! When in the yard he explored and played with his friends Lola and Kimi. He was especially kind when he rolled over onto his back and wanted me to pat him! Nyxx was he's usual fun self, pushing forward for cuddles, sniffing around the yard to catch scent trails, and being very vocal when he wants to talk! If you answer him back he looks you in the eyes for a moment and tilts his head as if he wants to understand. After his mini exploration session, Nyxx immediately set off full throttle across the yard in a burst of energy to play with the other dogs in his group in a game of chase. Nyxx also got to go out for a walk with Eric, our volunteer, and Kimi! In the end, Nyxx proudly walked back inside to his kennel and curled up in a ball on his cot. Today, had been very eventful and it was time for some rest.

Today Kimi started off outside with the groups. When it was her turn to be let out of her kennel, I found her sitting very patiently and was able to open the door with ease. Kimi is the type of dog that likes to watch the world around her, and can often be seen looking out the fence to the yard beyond! When out with her group, Kimi went straight to exploring. She went sniffing, and even caught onto a few scent trails which lead her in a wild chase of directions! With the group Kimi is very calm but sometimes she also likes to join in with the squad of more energetic dogs and bounds playfully over. She also got to go out for a walk with our volunteer Eric. Together, Eric, Nyxx, and Kimi set off into the dewy morning with bright attitudes and even brighter smiles!

Lexie had woken up with a lot of energy and was ready to start the day! When I opened her door to let her outside with her friends, Lexie zoomed out and promptly went to greeting the other dogs with little snuffles. She was very polite and knew when it was time to start the other part of her routine-exploring! At one point I sat on the ground and Lexie came right over ready to be cuddled! After groups, Lexie went for a walk with her friends Bella and Jake. All of them walked with a purpose, finding new smells and sometimes looking up at their walker Julie with smiles. Lexie also got to spend some time with extra attention, soaking up every minute of it! Lexie and I started out our extra attention time inside.  I tried to tempt her with some different treats ad her favourite was defiitely the liver treats.  She was sitting and shaking a paw for those.  After her treats and as per usual she ran straight for the front door to look out the window.  Since the rain had let up I decided we would go out for another short walk.  Her personality really does shine when she’s outside.  She was running down the driveway and jumping all over the rocks.  She was also sniff central, making sure she didn’t miss any spots.  Once her second walk was over we came back inside.  Lexie was ready to relax at this point and came up on my lap to sit with me on the chair.  We had a fabulous five-minute cuddle session before it was time for her to head back to her kennel, where she curled right up on her bed ready for a little snooze.
