This morning started off with very
beautiful weather; you could tell because Nymeria was excited and happy to run
and play outside! Waiting patiently at her kennel door, Nymeria greeted the
world happily with a bounce in her step. Nymeria pranced out the door with her
walk buddy Nyxx, and they happily set off together down the trail. Later when
the dogs had come back from their walks and had started off in groups outside,
they were acting ecstatic! The sun was shining bright and Nymeria had decided
to join in with the goofy games with the other dogs. At one point she even
jumped up onto the small play structure in the yard to get a good look at her
surroundings. After lunch, Nymeria got to go out for extra attention! She went
out in the sunshine once more to play in the dandelions and chase after a ball,
which she loved to pounce on. She even found a nice patch of shade to sit and
watch the butterflies. When we had to go back inside, Nymeria zoomed to her own
kennel and gulped down some water, ready to relax for the rest of the
afternoon.
Vasco was ready to start the day this
morning smiles all around! He went outside to explore with the other dogs in
his group and quickly made some friends to run and play with! Later in the
morning Vasco went for a walk with his buddies Casper and Hudson, and they
walked together as if they’d know each other forever! All three of
them walked the grassy expanse with curious sniffing and Vasco often lead the
group down a scent trails he was able to find. After coming back, Vasco got to
enjoy the beautiful weather again for extra attention! We went out on the
hillside and Vasco was put on a long tether so that he could relax and just
enjoy himself. I even had some liver treats so he did a couple basic training
moves! He showed his appreciation by a couple of little kisses as I sat on the
ground to chill with him. After we came back inside Vasco rushed into his
kennel and looked as if he was ready for a long, well deserved nap.
Barney is such a cute little boy and he loves his time outside with his friends here. When he first walked out the door into the yard his curiosity hit him and he began to sniff around and explore right away. Barney made his way over to the fence and began to run his nose along the grass as he walked along step by step. As some of the dogs ran over to him to say hello, Barney turned around quickly and let them give him a sniff to say hi, but at the time Barney wasn’t too interested in playing and wanted to finish exploring before he went to see them again. He made his way into the further yard and started to trot around the rocks along the fence, eventually he made his way up to me by the picnic table and jumped right up into my lap for some cuddles. Barney had a huge smile on his face even before I gave him some love. Some of the other dogs ran over to greet him as he stood tall on the table and that’s when he started to get some energy into him to play. Barney hopped down and started to chase the others back and forth in the grass starting a game of tag. When he was done chasing them and needed a break, the others decided to take it upon themselves and began to chase Barney instead! He was excited for another extra attention time this afternoon. Right from the get go Barney and I were all over the place. I started off our time together with a short walk. Barney's nose was going crazy as we explored the front field further than before. He searched high and low for new smells. We then settled down on top of the hill out front for some snuggle time. Barney and I sat there for a while as he enjoyed getting a belly rub. We then went inside a little while later to end of his extra attention time. Barney must have known that it was treat time as he raced inside and immediately sat down right in front of me. I had Barney do a few tricks such as sitting, laying down, giving a paw and even jumping up onto one of our comfy chairs. After another belly rub Barney was ready to head on back to his kennel.
Max and Sadie started off their day today with a nice long walk around the trail. They are so well behaved on their walks and love the time outside of the yard. During their walk they couldn’t stop smelling everything, they both have such curious noses and followed scents the whole way until they came back inside. During their group time I was expecting them to be super playful with me, but instead they were very relaxed and spent the time exploring instead. When they walked out the door they both split up as they walked in different directions and began to sniff around the grass. Sadie walked right towards the fence and dug her nose into the rocks, there must have been something underneath seeing as how intrigued she was by it. Max on the other hand was all over the place, he walked from one part of the yard to the next sniffing around on the ground the whole time. I called him over to me as I was sitting on the picnic table but he was too distracted to come over at first, after I called him a few times he finally made his way over to me. He jumped up on the table and sat next to me while giving me a million kisses, he got so excited as I was petting him and loved all the love that was going around. I called Sadie over at the same time but she was too busy laying down on the rocks sunbathing. She even fell asleep a little bit I noticed as I was walking over. I gave her some cuddles and a big belly scratch before walking over into the gravel yard where Max was. Sadie followed and said hi to her brother then they both did a lap of the yard before coming inside.
