Kai started off the wonderful morning with a big smile on her face! The weather was really nice so Kai took the opportunity to soak up the sun with her pals in her morning group. While out in the yard, she greeted the other dogs quickly, then went straight to mapping out any new scents. While other dogs might have been running around, Kai simply chose to sit back and observe while her gorgeous black fur warmed up in the sunlight. Later, I got the chance to take Kai and her friends Ayla and Hobart out for a walk. Kai stayed right by my side the entire time, but sometimes she joined in take a curious peak at something the other dogs might have found. By the time we got back it felt like a complete summer day and Kai was ready to go inside and enjoy some cool air conditioning and some water! She settled into her blanket and had a restful nap before she got to go back out side and have more time to explore. she even ventured into the small play structure we have out in the yard and peaked out through the window. Kai had a lovely extra attention time outside today with Tiffani and I and, at first she explored the yard with her nose as she walked around by my side. We decided to get her playing and started to run around the field with her. She began to jump around with me trying to get me to chase her. I hooked her on to the long line leash and off she went. This speedster got out all of her energy this afternoon for sure, I was even out of breathe by the time we went inside. For the rest of the time we came back inside to cool down and got lots of cuddles by me as we laid on the floor.
Fez and Rex had an awesome sunny day together! Rex was excited to go outside and meet the other dogs, and was bouncing all over the place! Fez even joined in with some happy barks while he followed Rex into the yard. When they got into the yard all the dogs formed into little groups to play games and have fun. Where Rex delved right into the jumping and running, Fez hung back and decided to sun himself instead. After group time, Fez got to go for a short stroll and took right to sniffing the path we were on and watching as butterflys flew from each flower to the next. Rex on the other hand, got to go for a walk with his buddies Birdie, Sophie, and Syarah who was their walker. The four of them set off into the sunny field with a bounce in their step. When it was time to come back inside both Fez and Rex were tuckered out and curled up after their treats at lunch. When they went back outside all the dogs were in a playful mood and Rex started right back into a game where even Fez joined in! Both Fez and Rex had a lot of fun on this bright summer day!
Sophie was ready to seize the day, hopping outside to greet the others bright and early in the morning! After she was done making friends and playing a couple games, Sophie went to investigate the yard and even found a few scent trails. After her time in the yard she went out for a walk with her pals Rex and Birdie, where they set off down the path confidently. Once back Sophie was in a playful and goofy mood and she was ready to have some fun! Back out into the yard she was having a great time bouncing around and acting silly, and even started rolling around on her back at one point! Sophie's cheerful mood lasted the entire day, even when she had to go back inside because it meant that she could relax and have a quick nap before going back outside to play again. Today she really got a good chance to soak up the sun, have fun with friends, and in general, have a really fantastic time!
Max and Sadie were so good on their walk
this morning. They were both super excited to get outside right away and
couldn’t stop bouncing around in their kennel as soon as I walked in. Sadie
loved to sniff along all the tall grass on the trail while Max stayed ahead and
tried to keep on moving whenever Sadie would stop to look around. Max didn’t
begin to explore until he went outside during his group time. Both he and
Sadie began to wander around the yard with their noses glued to the ground to
sniff around. Sadie explored around the pavement, while Max headed straight to
the grass yard to see what he could find there. After Sadie had a good look
around the yard, she decided to take a break and relax in the sun. She found a
nice spot on the gravel and laid down to soak up all the heat. Meanwhile, I went
to go and see Max on the other side of the yard. I wanted to get him to start
running around and playing so I began to hop around him to get him more
excited! It worked right away and he began to let all of his energy out and
started to run from one side of the yard to the other. He ran over to Sadie and
started to jump on her. I was hoping Sadie would get excited as well and start
to play but she wasn’t in the mood for it just then. Instead she headed over to the
picnic table and jumped on top to watch Max as he ran around with me.
Teddie and Kizmet are both so adorable! I
love going outside with them in the yard because they love to get cuddles all
the time. At first when they walked out the door they took off and started to
wander around the yard to explore. They both walked over to the further yard
and started to sniff around on their own. Teddie wandered over to the play
structure and took a peek inside, and as one of the other dogs
hopped on top of it he stayed there and watched them as they had a look around inside.
Kizmet made his way over to me as I was sitting on a stool in one of the
outdoor kennels in the shade, he trotted over and placed his head right in my
lap to get some love. He sure loves his head scratches and didn’t move away
until I got up to see the other dogs. Not before he could thank me though and
he gave me a lots of kisses right on my cheek in return. Teddie got a little
jealous and came over right when he saw me with Kizmet. He stood beside he as I
began to pet his back, and kept on moving closer with each scratch. After that
they both decided to wander around again to explore but this time with each
other.
April is such a sweet girl. She was so eager to get onto the yard with all of the other dogs in her group that as
soon as I opened her kennel door she ran all the way outside and watched as the
others followed behind her. At first she began to walk around to explore the
gravel. She put her head down as she began to sniff around all of the rocks as
she was walking. She made her way along the fence until she came up to the
grass yard and walked in their to take a look. None of the other dogs were in
that yard but as soon as they noticed her, some of them began to follow. A
few of her friends walked over to say hello and gave her a nice sniff to greet
her. April didn’t socialize for
very long, but she did walk over to everyone else after to say hello to each
dog quickly before walking away to continue to explore. When I was sitting on
the stool with a few of the others I called her over to me to get some love as
well. She looked at me and didn’t come over at first, instead she continued to
wander around until I called her once more and she began to trot over to see
what was going on. I gave her some cuddles before she walked back away to hang
around the door area to be let back inside to cool off with a drink.
