We are happy to have daycare pal Kimi
boarding with us this time around and her frisky side definitely came out this
morning when it was time to play with fellow Husky, Lola and Golden friend, Charlotte. Kimi was very amused as Lola and Charlotte started chasing one
another into the far yard, she couldn’t help but get excited and her tail
started to wiggle as they eventually came closer. When Charlotte took cover in
the play structure, Kimi decided to join in and together with Lola
they barked and pawed at Charlotte to come out. The three of them were having
so much fun, that when it was eventually time to come back inside, they decided
that they wanted a few extra minutes to play and Kimi ran out her last
bits of energy before coming back in to relax and recover from a morning of
play.
Kai was excited to spend her morning with
daycare gentleman Finnigan and Tanner, surely there was lots of entertainment
coming her way with these two silly pups around. Kai is such a social girl and
loves being surrounded by such fun-loving pups, and as usual she was her cool,
calm and collected self. Never wants to be right in the centre of the action
but never strays too far either, and of course is never without that infamous
smile of hers. The rain was really coming down at that point and some of us
decided to take shelter, but there Kai was right out in the middle of the yard
enjoying every minute of it, rain or shine! Tanner decided that he would follow
me and take cover from the rain; in fact Tanner never strayed too far from me
at any time, he was in such a cuddly mood and wanted all the attention he could
get. And of course if I looked away from him even just momentarily, he would
submerge his whole body between my legs and look up at me with the silliest
smile demanding pets! Finnigan on the other hand couldn’t be bothered for cuddles
today, we all know that boy is always on the move and today he was trying to
steal the ball away from good pal Nyxx who was guarding it with his life! Of
course Finn didn’t really care for the ball, but he also didn’t want anyone
else to have it. While Nyxx was showing off with the ball, Finn would slink
down on the ground and bark at him in protest. Finally Nyxx got bored and left
the ball stranded. Finn was on the other side of the fence where he left it, and
decided to see if he could paw at it from under the fence. It took a while
before he realized all he had to do was go around and collect it!
Next it was time for the small dog group to
have their fun out in the yard, but knowing them I knew it might be a challenge
to just get them out the door with all of that rain coming down! Well, have no
fear, Timbits said, and took the lead out the door and Nanook happily followed behind him. Let's just say that Coco and the others needed some more
encouragement to get out the door this morning. Once outside, Coco thought it
wasn’t too bad and put her little nose to work as she sniffed out the yard.
Timbits and Nanook had already made it out into the far yard at that point and
were happily exploring around the grass. It was definitely a morning of
exploration and not so much play. Kouza decided to lounge back in the front
yard with Coco to make sure that they were the first ones in the door when they
were called back inside. It was nice to be out getting some fresh air but I
think these two ladies much preferred to be inside in their warm beds. When
Nanook and Tim were done exploring the far yard together, I decided to lead the
small ones into the playroom so they could finish their outing inside and I
could see that both Coco and Kouza were pleased to have shelter! Nanook and Tim
heard me calling and raced each other in to see who could make it in first! By the
time it was time to head out again for their morning trail walks, the rain had
stopped at that point and Coco and Kouza were in much better spirits!
Miss Kouza was way too excited when she joined me for some one-on-one time this afternoon. She didn't seem to know what to do first, so we spent some time doing a nice, soothing side massage and then some top-of-the-bum scratches so she would relax. Once she was feeling really focused, she was good to sniff around without bumping into everything. I took her into the kitchen with me and Kouza had a wonderful time sniffing every square inch of the space while I cut up some apple slices for her treats. After her treat I did a big scratch of her body, starting with below the cone and then moving onto above the cone. She especially loved having her neck and head rubbed and massaged.

It has been a while since I have seen my
favourite brother-sister duo Max and Sadie, but today I was delighted to see
their warm and smiling faces! Eager to get outside as always, they both pounced
out of their kennel and into the rainy yard, but not before giving me the
perfect sit command. Max was ready to make his usual rounds into and around the
far yard with his curious nose to the ground as he sniffed the smells from the
previous group. Max always made his way back to the little turtle pool that
was collecting fresh rain to have a drink; he even brought the ball with him
and splashed it into the pool. Sadie on the other hand wasn’t too keen on
getting her white fluffy paws dirty, and perched herself on top of her favourite
rock as she watched her silly brother splash around in the puddles below her
and it wasn’t long before Max came over to say hello to his sister.
