Max and Sadie were loving yet another wonderful sunny day here at Tails & Trails. The two of them came into the building in an amazing mood and raced back into their kennel, excited to go out for their morning walk. I had Max and Sadie go out for two walks today. Their first walk was this morning and boy they could not wait to go go go! Max and Sadie trotted out into the yard and the next second we were all on the trail, stream rolling along it. Max was the leader of the walk today and had his nose to the ground for most of the time. Sadie was quite funny throughout the walk time as she kept getting distracted by the smallest things. There were a few butterflies circling around us and Sadie decided she had to follow them wherever they went. After chasing them a few times, Max noticed them as well and joined in on the search for butterflies. When it came to their long outdoor play group, the duo was just as excited to go outside. This time they went their separate ways right off the bat. Max was captivated by the kiddy pool in the yard. He spent some time sniffing around it before deciding to put a few paws in. It wasn't quite warm enough to go swimming just yet. Sadie climbed up onto her favorite rock to observe the yard. She enjoyed simply standing on top of it and sniffing the air as it blew past. Towards the end of their group time Max had decided that he wanted to join Sadie up on the rock. This led to quite a funny little game of king of the castle. Sadie definitely wanted to keep her rock all to herself but Max ended up getting on top for a little while.

Barney was full of beans throughout the day. He was just the happiest little boy when it was time for him to go outside for his long outdoor play group. Barney trotted right outside and immediately started greeting his friends within his group. After saying hello to everyone, Barney started to venture into the longer grass. He seemed to be completely absorbed in all of the smells found within the grass. Barney spent some time searching through anywhere the scents lead him but he was soon ready to come find me. To his surprise I was sitting up on the picnic table right behind him. Barney soon jumped up and sat on my lap, waiting for a chin and back scratch. Barney thanked me with many kisses before jumping down to join his friends once again. This time he ran around from yard to yard, trying to find someone to play with him. His friend Timbits was ready to join him in a game of tag so the two boys took off into another yard. Towards the end of his group time, Barney made his way over to the pool to stick a couple of paws in.
Barney was super excited to get out of his kennel for some one on one time. As soon as I opened the door he ran out and down the hallway to come up front with us. I brought him into the kitchen at first with me for some love, he sat on my lap as I pet him. Every time someone walked down the hallway Barney would stand up and run to the door and try to sniff out who it was by pressing his nose against the crack. When I brought him into the reception he all of a sudden got more playful and began to run around the room and explore. I had some treats that he was super eager to get his hands on and followed me around the room until I’d give him one. He sat for me each time and even gave me some kisses in return.

Boris and Tasha were excited to meet up with frisky daycare friend Finnigan for a morning of fun, but not before the three of them headed out for their trail walk first! After coming back from their morning trot, they were ready to run and splash around in the pool. Of course Finnigan noticed the pool right away and ran over to investigate. First it was one paw in to test the temperature and next it was his whole body fully submerged and boy was he happy about it. Best Golden pal Charly ran over to test out the water for herself and brought a couple balls over for both her and Finn to play with and the two of them splashed around and went bobbing for balls! Boris and Tasha were too busy exploring the yard and catching up with Husky pals Magic and Vega before they even noticed the pool. Then Boris heard Finn splashing around and decided to run over and take a dip himself. Then Finn was off leaping around the yard and enticed Boris to chase after him. Once the two of them were up and running, Tasha and Charly couldn’t resist joining in. Tasha never misses an opportunity to chase her silly son around! After multiple laps around the yard, Tasha decided that she would join the pool party and cool off her paws!

Nymeria couldn’t have been more excited to spend her day with Mama Ariel who just happens to be boarding with us at the same time! But even more exciting was that they were paired with Husky friends Maverick, Lola and Nyxx! Nymeria and her Husky pack wasted no time getting down and dirty and off they went speeding around the yard after one another. Usually with Ariel in the lead, Nymeria tried her best to keep up but boy is her mom fast. Not to mention she was usually intercepted by Lola who was trying to entice Nymeria to play with her. They would stop for a quick wrestle in the yard but then speed off to meet up with the rest of their pals who were whipping in and out of the tunnel! Vasco the sweet lab and Ariel’s brother Nick were thoroughly entertained this morning from all the Husky action. While Vasco loved spending his time with Nick, he couldn’t help but join in the Husky fun and they welcomed him in their pack with open paws! Vasco has been having a great first day with us so far; he especially loved his morning trail walk with pals Hudson and Casper and was excited to sniff out the trail. Not to mention it was a beautiful day and I don’t think I ever saw Vasco without a great big smile on his face; he truly is your typical sweet, fun-loving lab!
Nymeria is just so darn cute and I couldn't wait to spend some extra time with her. To take advantage of the beautiful weather today we went outside into the grass to play. I hooked her up to our long line and squeaked a ball. This instantly got her attention, I tossed the ball into the grass and Nymeria bounced along after it, pouncing on the ball, picking it up and showing of her prized possession. We did this several time before we relaxed in the grass together for some cuddles.
Vasco was having a nice nap in his kennel when I brought him outside with me on a leash for his extra attention. We walked around the yard at first before I put him on a long line where he could roam around on his own the whole time. At first he began to sniff around the grass and explore all of his surroundings. After that I was able to get his attention and called him over to me. He trotted over with a big smile on his face as I sat in the grass, he put his head in my lap for some cuddles and even gave me a couple kisses. He saw a few dogs being walked across the yard and was so intrigued that he ran over to get as close as he could to them. He sat there and watched them walk by before coming back over to me, I brought out some treats to try and get him to sit but once I held out my hand to give him one, he decided to eat all of them at once instead!
