Kai was thrilled to see a sunny sky this morning! After a few days of rainy weather, Kai took her time on the walking trail to soak up all the sunshine and sniff around in the grass. She walked with two other dogs who also like to take their time, so there was no need to rush. Later in the yard, Kai was happy just to be back outside wandering the yard, and walked around with a big grin on her face. She met up with a few friends here and there, including Justice the Husky and Kane the Weimaraner. She didn’t stay put for long, though and continued on her way around the yard. Kai stopped to have a sniff and a little dig in the playhouse, which is always a favourite spot of hers. She came out and sat down next to me, and I gave her lots of pets and head scratches as we watched the other dogs goofing around. After another relaxing outdoor group time this afternoon, I decided to take Kai on a little adventure down to the creek for her extra attention time. She loves bouncing through the long grass, and she stopped a few times to roll around. Kai marched right down to the creek bank and paused for a second before jumping right into the water! She splashed around with a big grin on her face and then rolled around in the grass at the waters' edge. Kai then joined me in the reception area for some cool off time before heading back to her kennel for pre-dinner group outing.

It isn’t a fun-filled Wednesday unless Kane is here to stir up the energy! He ran from nose to nose, stopping only long enough to say a quick hello to each one. Kane saw some familiar faces, such as Justice the Husky and Chloe, but he was extremely pleased to meet a new friend named Georgia. These two made the perfect match when it came to zipping back and forth across the yard, and Kane followed Georgia wherever she went. He only left her side to go and pop into Chloe’s wrestling match with Blue, but never stayed too long before he was flying back across the yard to find Georgia once again. When she slowed her pace and started to explore the yard, Kane came to see me and was up for any activity I offered. I tossed the red ball for him and Kane was more than happy to chase after it, considering running is his ultimate favourite pastime! I ran and jumped over the agility jump, and although he dodged around it a few times, Kane eventually leapt over the bar behind me. He was even more keen when I threw the ball over the jump, and didn’t hesitate for a second to chase it!
After a fast-paced walk with her good pal, Kane, Chloe was bright eyed and bushy tailed when it was time to head into the yard for morning play time. She did her rounds and said hello to the other dogs, including her husky friends from last week, but also to a brand new face that she’d never met before. Chloe and Blue the lab hit it off instantly, and chased each other through the gate and into the adjoining yard. They splashed their way through puddles, around the agility tunnel and past the other dogs without blinking an eye at anything but each other. Kane rushed over and joined in the chase for a few minutes, and popped back in periodically throughout group time. Chloe was having so much fun with Blue that I had to offer her a treat to get her back inside! She’ll be more than excited to get back out with Blue and Kane this afternoon!

Sophie W. was absolutely full of beans today! The sunny, warm weather really put a spring in her step. She motored along the walking trail alongside two other Golden friends, Quincy and Seamus. These three were fast friends, and were definitely on the same page during their walk. They took turns taking the lead at the end of the leashes, and hanging back to sniff or roll around in the grass. Later, during morning group time, Sophie zipped back and forth around the yard, hardly stopping long enough to say hello to the other dogs. Her eyes lit up when she saw me carrying a toy, and she raced over and started jumping up and down with her ears flapping. Sophie had a few competitors in the game of fetch, though and she gave it her all each time I threw the ball. Sophie was more involved in the chase rather than in actually catching the toy, but she had just as much fun anyway. Sophie stopped for a little break to lean up against me and show off her famous Sophie smile while I gave her lots of pets and cuddles.

Miss Oakley enjoyed her walk this morning alongside her new friends Georgia and Red. Her walk is one of her favourite parts of the day with us, and she always has a big grin on her face while we’re on the path. Oakley was feeling very snuggly in the yard this morning, and stuck next to me to get some ear scratches and watch the other dogs for a while. She was soon joined by Nyxx the Husky, though and he absolutely loved Oakley! Nyxx sniffed and kissed Oakley’s face as she stood next to me, and even wandered off into the yard with him for a little while. She was quite content watching as the more playful dogs chased after some toys, and didn’t mind one bit when Nyxx raced off to join. She wound up back by my side as I threw the toys for the rest of the group. Nyxx did come back to see Oakley a little bit later on, and I managed to sneak a picture of him giving her a kiss, although she did look a little embarrassed! All in all, Oakley just enjoys being outside on a beautiful day like today!
It was great to see Annie and Zen back for their second day with us, and it looked like they were just as excited to be back. Much more familiar with their surroundings and routine, they were ready to head out for a morning trail walk on this beautiful morning. The best part about coming back is the new faces they get to meet and today Sophie R the Golden accompanied them for their trot. A quick hello later and the three of them were happily exploring the trail together and taking their time to sniff and investigate. A short while later, Annie and Zen headed outside again but this time for their group outing and there were lots of new faces to meet! They remembered Charly the Golden from last time and were happy to see a familiar face, but they were much more interested in meeting Golden brothers Quincy and Seamus and our new Bloodhound foster Red. They also got to explore a new yard today and they were thrilled to be in good company on this beautiful day. Still a little cautious of the camera, but they managed to grace me with the most beautiful smiles!

Abby and Dudley graced us with their presence bright and early this morning, ready to check in for their visit with us. They are here for a longer visit this time and ready to get the fun started! But first and most importantly, they headed out for their morning trail walk, their favorite part of the day. Although little, they are quite strong and eager as ever to explore the trail together, it was the perfect way to start their day. Next up they were heading outside with the rest of our small four-legged guests. They remember being in this grassy yard last time and wasted no time running out to explore and say hello again to their friends. Abby zoomed right out there and let her little nose lead the way. Dudley was a little bit more cautious; he took his time to investigate his surroundings but was excited to come over to me when I called him for some cuddles. It was a lot harder to get Abby’s attention, she was too busy doing her own thing, and she’s an independent little thing that’s for sure! They sure were excited when it was time for their extra attention. At first we went up to the reception area where they were both very interested in investigating every like nook and cranny. They were really focused on the door, so we moved into the playroom. Now this was much more exciting. Abby bounced around the room while Dudley sniffed and snuffled around the room. Abby got the zoomies and invited Dudley to play with her. The wrestled and tussled around on the floor together until they were both tired and needed a snooze in their kennel.

Coco and Timbits are our regular Beagle daycare friends, but there is a new Beagle in town and it’s little Bailey, and she fits right in with pals Coco and Timbits and it’s the cutest sight you could ever see! Bailey and Tim are especially the best of friends; they share similar spunky attitudes and always manage to have a blast when out in the yard together. Coco definitely has her playful side, but she told Tim and Bailey to go ahead and play without her, it was a beautiful sunny day and that meant she would be pre-occupied sunbathing most of the morning. Sure enough when I opened the door, she found a comfy spot in the sun and sprawled out, her signature move. Shelby and Resa kept her company most of the morning as well, but she did manage to move to different locations and sprawl out there depending on where it was the warmest! Meanwhile Bailey and Timbits were already long gone racing one another out in the furthest grassy yard. Bailey found herself a bone to play with, and she excitedly pranced around with it in her mouth but it meant she had to dodge Tim who was trying to steal it away from her. Bailey loved the attention and Tim loved chasing her around the yard just as much. To no surprise they were the last two to come in, they were too busy playing to even notice it was time to come back inside!

Bella and Jake were excited to watch the Beagle chase around the yard; they both took turns introducing themselves to Bailey who is the new face of the group. Bella especially loves meeting new puppies and she gave her a few nose nuzzles to say hello. I could see that Jake, the more playful one of the two wanted to join in on the wrestle between Bailey and Timbits, but he found it hard to keep up! Instead he ran over and said hello to Beauty who was exploring the yard, he remembers her from last week and Beauty wiggled her tail in excitement as Jake said hello! Bella spent most of her time with the ladies who were sunbathing up front; she enjoyed the company and warmth of the sun as well. The two of them did make sure to spend some time by my side as well for endless amounts of cuddles. I can always count on these two happy pups to keep me company!
