Max and Sadie were happy to get outdoors and enjoy the
company of Isis and Sky once again. Max has been doing awesome with this duo.
He is always so excited when he sees them on the other side of the fence. He
moans and howls racing back and forth up and down the fence line until they
come into the yard. As soon as he sniffs them over, he wanders off as if it was
no big deal. Max, Sadie, Isis and Sky were happy to have Katie outdoors with
them, too. She got everyone going through the agility tunnel and leaping over
the agility jump. Max is very impressive with his jumping skills, while Sadie
is a bit more stubborn. She wasn’t to keen on the agility tricks, she chose to
sniff and explore instead. As usual, she found her favourite rock to stand on
and supervise her friends goofing around.
Annie and Zen are such a lovely pair. Today is the first day I got to meet them, as I am normally in on Tuesdays and Thursdays. They are so calm and fun loving, they make for a great addition to group time. We had a great morning walk right when they arrived. They both trotted ahead of me with wagging tails. Annie loved weaving in and out of the long grass while Zen preferred to stick to the path. They both loved sniffing all the flowers and plants along the way. In the yard, they were a big hit with Victory the Newfoundland pup. She tried very hard to get them to play. Neither Annie, nor Zen, felt like goofing around with the youngster. They both enjoyed exploring the perimeter of the yard and checking out all the new dogs. They kept very busy for their entire time outdoors with their noses to the ground or supervising the playing going on.
I was so excited to see Oakley here, on a Friday! I haven’t
been working on Wednesdays lately, and I’ve missed her. Kyah has been missing
her too. I was eager for them to re-unite during their group time. The pair instantly
met up and did a lot of sniffing and kissing. As usual, they also did a lot of
their silly nose to ear whispering too. Oakley loved hanging out with Kyah
while all the youngsters played around them. They were happy to have my
attention while everyone else kept busy. Oakley thought it was very warm today,
and had a lot of drool to show for it. She was happy to wipe that on my leg
when I was cuddling her, as well as Kyahs back when they were relaxing. Oakley
is quite the character, she never fails to put a smile on my face.
Finnigan had a blast today. He started his day off with a
fresh groom. He could hardly wait to get out in the yard and parade his new 'do
off to all his friends. His fresh hair cut seemed to give him the zoomies. As
soon as his clean feet hit the grass he began zipping, zooming, and darting
around. His quick actions caught the attention of Victory, and the pair took
off together. It wasn’t long before Finn’s bloodhound buddy Red was in on the
action too. Next thing Finn knew, he was the center of all the action. Victory,
Red and Nymeria were all over him. There is nothing Finn loves more than being
the center of a good wrestling and boxing match. He had so much fun tugging on
all of Reds excess skin, while bouncing around Nym and Victory. These games
never ended. He seems to always have Reds ear in his mouth, or his paws around
Nymeria, or running with Victory. By the time groups ended he was pooped, and
couldn’t wait for his mid day nap.
Victory had a five star day. We had a very busy walk this
morning, with two other dogs. Annie, the St. Bernard was one of her walking
mates, and she made Victory look small. Victory was intrigued by Annie and her
size. She stuck close to her side for the majority of the walk. In the yard
Victory hit it off with Finnigan right away. She spotted him zooming around the
yard and quickly tagged along. She did numerous fast laps around the yard, and
even entered the agility tunnel while chasing after him. After some fast paced
playing she met up with Justice for some boxing and wrestling. Victory loves
Justice so much. She is such a flirt with him, putting her bum in his face and
wagging her tail, followed by some body bumps and paws. They had some brief fun
before Victory set off to make some new friends. She loved Zen and Annie, as
well as Red and Nymeria. There wasn’t a moment Victory wasn’t socializing or
playing today.
Nymeria had a lot of fun in her group today. She seemed to
enjoy the company of every dog, and got playing with each dog individually as
well as in big herds. She was in love with Finnigan and Red, and insisted on
getting right in on their wrestling match. After a lot of jumping and rolling
around, she set off to explore. Along the way she came across a mud puddle.
What husky doesn’t love a good dirty hole to dig in? Despite my great efforts
to remove her from the mud, she continued to dig and paw at the dirty pool. I
finally had to shut the gate to that yard to eliminate access to the mud.
Nymeria wasn’t bothered at all, she met up with more friends and continued
running and playing. She was happy to meet up with her aunt Kyah for some
snuggles with me, as well as her husky pals Justice and Magic. She kept pretty
busy playing and sniffing until it was time to come in for her one on one time
and training. Nymeria was ready to get to cuddling when it came time for her extra attention. She raced right up to see Katie in the front reception. Immediately after seeing her, she knew it was time to get a belly and back rub. Katie spent a long time giving her some TLC before Nymeria went off sniffing. She searched high and low for a treat but ended up waiting for one of us to grab one for her. Nymeria sat like the pretty girl she is and waited patiently for her treat.
Poppy had a great start to her morning by heading outside
for her trot along the back trail; Oliver the happiest Weimaraner around kept
her company! A little while later she headed back outside but this time to hang
out with some of her favorite four-legged friends. She was excited to see
Nymeria and Charlotte the Golden were already chasing one another over in the
grassy yard. Poppy wanted to join and raced over and this playful duo soon
became a trio! Nymeria was whipping in and out of the agility tunnel and Poppy
and Charlotte excitedly peeked their heads through each side to see which end
she would emerge from! Poppy was the star of her group today; not only did she
play with Charlotte and Nymeria, but she also had fun with Bernese brothers
Dragon and Gryphon.
Maggie and Jack could smell that I had liver treats in my
pocket from the moment we stepped outside for their morning group. Jack perked
right up and the two of them excitedly followed me around the yard, then would
automatically sit when I looked their way in hopes of getting rewarded.
Rewarded they did, they were so happy to have some tasty treats and of course
head rubs coming there way. It was a rainy morning, so they were excited to
follow me back inside for their extra attention session to warm up and dry off.
They knew exactly where they were headed and enthusiastically zoomed down the
hallway and into the reception area. First it was time to investigate, they
sniffed out their surroundings and of course Maggie had to check out the toy
bin to see if she noticed anything new in there. I took a seat on the chair
beside them and Maggie took this as an invitation to jump up and get some
cuddles, then before I knew it Jack had jumped up there as well and they were
both giving me lots of kisses. While Maggie headed into the grooming salon,
Jack hung out with me on the chair, he was thrilled to get all of the attention
and if I took my hand away from his head for a moment, he would paw at my leg
until I returned to giving him a head rub! Next it was Jack’s turn in the salon
and Maggie had her fair share of cuddles as well.
Bailey followed Jack and Maggie out into the yard to see
what they were patiently waiting for. Then she noticed that I was handing out
treats and immediately put her bum on the floor and paw into the air for one!
Once she got her treat, she was ready to play in usual fashion. She noticed
that little Vanna was still here and these two have become great friends over the
past couple of days. They picked up right where they left off yesterday and
both jumped up on their hind legs to dance! She was so happy to have a friend
just as playful as she was and the two of them were nearly inseparable today.
Maya and Rocky perked right up when they noticed that I was
handing out liver treats to the group. I wanted to see if they would follow me
out further into the yard today. Maya took the bait and followed me out into
the grassy yard but once she got her treat, she ran right back and joined her
brother Rocky. These two have a very special bond and Maya always needs to make
sure that little Rocky is in her sight. If they weren’t going to join us out in
the yard, then we will move the party over to where they were. All the little
ones joined me and surrounded themselves in between both Rocky and Maya and
they were thrilled to have Tiffani come out and give them some extra cuddles
this morning.
Boris and Tasha met up with their usual crew outside for a
morning of fun. Husky sisters Isis and Sky were back and ready to chase silly
Boris around the yard alongside Charly the Golden. I knew their morning was
going to be spent leaping across the yard after Boris like it always does, so I
always make sure to stand off to the side before the chase starts. Boris and
Tasha always start their groups off very calmly, they like to take their time
and explore the yard first bit then a switch goes off and they are ready to
play! Boris always makes the first move and in a moment’s notice he is zooming,
this gets Tasha all riled up and you would never see her move so fast unless
its chasing after her silly son!
