Darby, Iris and Amber were quite the trio throughout the day. The three of them were very happy girls when they realized it was time for their morning walk. Iris almost leaped into my arms so that I could put on her harness and gave me plenty of kisses until it was on. Amber wasn't so sure she was ready to go but once Darby and Iris hopped out of her kennel, it was go go go time. The three girls trotted down the hallway with Darby leading them out. However she quickly lost her lead as a smell stopped her dead in her tracks. She examined a few areas and was then ready to go once again. Out in the field, Darby, Amber and Iris were always on the move. They seemed to usually be sniffing or travelling through some of the longer grass in the field. When it came time for their long outdoor play group, Iris and Darby were both snuggled up into their beds. I'm not so sure they were completely awake yet but once they saw me they shot up out of bed and came over to their kennel door. Amber seemed to be already at the door waiting for them before I had even gotten there. The three of them took to the yard and were ready to explore. Darby was the most adventurous of the three of them. She roamed around endlessly, always on the hunt for something to sniff. There were a few times were I saw her searching through the long grass after a certain scent. Iris was a little cuddle bug throughout her group time. As soon as she got outside she found me in the yard and immediately wanted some attention. I picked
Abby and Dudley started their activities with a nice walk with Puggle friend, Duke this morning. It was a beautiful morning and all three enjoyed the freshly cut trail though the fields. For their morning playgroup they were joined by quite a large group, which meant there were lots of friends to meet. Dudley was more adventurous than Abby today and she watched him as he checked out the other little ones in their group. After a while, Abby warmed up and became more social as well. When things got a little more active in the yard, Dudley was drawn to the little spaniel puppy, Henry as well as Darby, his little twin. Meanwhile, Abby checked out Henry's big brother, Charlie and followed the lovely Beauty around. After group, I brought Abby and Dudley to the reception area for extra attention time. Abby was thrilled to sit on Katie's lap at the desk and give her lots of kisses, while Dudley sat on my lap and cuddled. Once Abby got down, she came and curled herself up right next to me.
Poppy was part of the big dog playgroups
today. She was so excited to get outside and play. It was a warm sunny day and
Poppy enjoyed every minute of it. She was running around and playing with two
other big dogs, Red and Bentley. She liked to show them that just because she
might be smaller, she is just as tough. Poppy then sat in the shade for a bit
trying to cool off and catch her breath from all of that running around. She
didn’t have that long of a rest because Poppy and her other friend Nyxx started
fooling around. Nyxx was digging a hole under the play structure and Poppy was
so curious to what he was doing that she tripped right in. She quickly got up
and had a good shake and off she went to go play with everyone else. Another
fun and happy day for Poppy.
Max and Sadie loved this warm weather we had today. We got
the pool all set up and Max was the first one to play in it. He dunked his feet
right into the pool and got cooled off. Every few minutes he would rush back
over the pool for a quick drink and a dunk. As Max was playing in the pool,
Sadie was either lying down in the shade or she was lying down in the empty
pool soaking up the sun. Max and Sadie were fooling around together but it was
so hot out today that Sadie always needed a quick break in the shade. Max would
then continue to run around and jumping all over the little table in the play
yard waiting for Sadie to cool off before they started playing again. They were
both extremely happy to be outside and enjoyed another daycare day.
