Lola certainly had a great day with all of her friends! She was super eager for her walk and was sitting patiently at her kennel door, barely containing her excitement, when I came to get her. On the walk, Lola was happy to stick by my side and got lots of pets while we were making our way down the trail. Eventually she decided to venture out further and spent some time sniffing along to edge of the path. Of course, in between her adventures she always raced back to my side to make sure I wasn't feeling left out! When we headed out later for groups, Lola was delighted to meet everyone and her tail was wagging like crazy as she politely gave each dog a kiss on the nose. She wasn't quite sure about playing with everyone - she always seems to be shy and bubbly at the same time! - but she did spend some time exploring in the company of her new friend Mercer. The two of them wandered all over the yard before Mercer was distracted by a game of fetch, and Lola headed off to find a more relaxing pastime. She ended up happily snuggled against my leg, completely ignoring the fact that it was very warm and Lola is quite furry. All she cared about was the cuddles. After enjoying a back scratch, she wasted no time flopping over for me to rub her belly. Then she trotted around at my side while I took pictures and played with the dogs. Every time I stopped petting her Lola would rest her head on my leg again to make sure I didn't forget about her. What a sweetheart! It's always a delight to have Lola in the yard with us.
It was another hot and sunny day and Abby and
Dudley both enjoyed being outside. Every time the kennel door would open they would
zoom right out into the yard. They started their exercise with a nice relaxing walk
around the building. Dudley was walking calmly but Abby was zooming around
smelling every single spot. Both Abbey and Dudley made a new friend today.
Teddy, a small dog just like them, played with Abby and Dudley all day. At one
point, Abby was standing on the table and would not let Teddy or Dudley join
her. She held her ground for a while and was determined to not let the boys hop up next to her. However, after a bit, Teddy was finally able to sneak his way up. The
three of them all had so much fun trying to see who would be the first one to
get on top of the table with Abby. Both Abby and Dudley are looking forward to
tomorrow so they have another fun day with Teddy.
It was Teddy and Mickey’s first full day
and they were so lucky to be able to have the sun shinning. They started off
their day here with a nice walk together with another little dog by their side.
They were all friendly and enjoyed the fresh air. During playtime, Mickey was a
little more shy than Teddy with all the other dogs, while Mickey kept a close eye on him. Teddy was walking up to
all the other little dogs to say hello. After a short period of time, Mickey
warmed up and was saying hello and meeting new faces. Teddy made two new
friends today named Abby and Dudley. They were all so excited to be running
around together. Mickey would join in on occasion, however he was more content
with getting used to the new smells and faces. Teddy and Mickey both enjoyed
there first day here and are super excited for another full day of adventures
tomorrow.
Iris, Amber and Darby make quite the trio! They had another great day hanging out with their friends and enjoying the warm weather. After their walk, the three of them were more than ready to head out to the yard for group time. Right away Iris set out to sniff around, leaving the other two in the dust. She was on a mission! There had been lots of dogs going through the yard and as usual they left plenty of interesting scents for Iris to check out. Her nose seemed glued to the ground. Darby, on the other hand, decided that she would rather have a relaxing time outside and lounged around in the shade for a while, as it was so warm. She politely greeted each dog that wandered over to say hello. Amber also stuck with Darby until she decided she would rather be exploring with Iris. She followed right on my heels but was too shy to come over for cuddles, and seemed content to observe from a distance. When Iris trotted over for some snuggles, Amber was right beside her and gave my hand a sniff before she spun around and raced to the grass yard. Her friend Resa was busy rolling around, so Amber went to check that out. Iris was loving the attention and her feet were dancing like crazy while I rubbed her back. Meanwhile, Darby had finally left her cool patch of shade and ventured into the grass. She poked around with her nose and also made a stop to cuddle with me. While Darby was enjoying a scratch behind the ears, Iris wandered off to see what the other dogs were up to. Chase was busy investigating a clump of grass and Iris decided to join him. The two of them stuck side by side for the rest of group time, enjoying each other's company while they explored. Amber ended up bouncing after Darby, who was slowly making her way around the yard. Although the other two were more than happy to cuddle with me, Amber still wasn't entirely convinced and she always lingered right outside of my reach. She would sniff my fingers, consider it, then race off to find something else to do. Silly girl! All three of them spent the last couple minutes cooling down in the shade before we headed inside.
