Coco had a little time away from her crazy brother on her
walk this morning. She joined Teddy and Mickey out on the trail and had her
nose glued to the ground the whole way, while Timbits had a more fast-paced
stroll with his friends Bella and Jake. Later on during group play time, Coco
hung back by the fence beside friends Resa, Bella and Julie while Timbits raced
off into the grass yard to wrestle and goof around. He watched Finnigan the
doodle as he played with a Frisbee, hoping to get a turn with the toy too. He
wasn’t worried about the toy for long though, because Bailey flew onto the
scene and started a big chase around the yard. Even Finnigan left his toy
behind to join in on the excitement. A few other dogs noticed the commotion and
came rushing over to join the race, including Coco, who always likes to play
referee with her little brother. Bailey and Timbits were stuck together like
glue with all of the other dogs following along and barking their excitement.
Bailey absolutely loves Timbits, and she was determined to keep the wrestling
match going for the whole duration of their group and even after I started to
round everyone up to go inside. Bailey was a little more keen to follow me into
her kennel when she saw I had a treat, though!
Abby D. and Dudley were as happy as ever after breakfast when
it was time for walks this morning! They may be small, but this pair absolutely
love getting out and sniffing the trail. Last night’s rain must have stirred up
all sorts of good smells since Abby and Dudley both had their noses glued to
the path. After a little rest time on their comfy pillows and blankets, Abby
and Dudley joined their friends in the yard for some play time. Abby was still
in an exploratory mood, and motored around the yard and along the fence to
sniff out anything interesting. Dudley, on the other hand, had an admirer in
the yard, and that was his friend Teddy. Teddy followed Dudley everywhere he
went, and the boys even had a little bit of a play session! They hopped around
together for a few minutes until Abby came full circle, back towards where she
started her sniffing and where Dudley was hanging out with Teddy. Dudley was happy
to see Abby and went to greet her. I sat down on the ground to be more at their
level, and Abby climbed right up on my lap like the snuggle bug that she is. It
was lovely to spend time with my little buddies today! Abby D. and Dudley are quite the funny pair during extra attention time! They each took turns cuddling with Alyssa and getting lots of pets. When it was Dudley's turn, Abby hopped up onto the back of the armchair and hung out there like a cat. After lots of time spent being pet, both Abby and Dudley were feeling extra frisky and started to wrestle together.
My teeny tiny friends Teddy and Mickey were full of wiggles
and excitement when it was time to hit the trail for their morning walk. Once
they were in their harnesses, Teddy and Mickey marched right out to face the
day! The boys led the way down the path, with Coco the beagle and I walking along
behind them. They certainly love to explore and stretch their legs! Once back
in their kennels, Mickey climbed up into their bed and rolled around like a
silly little goose. After a little rest time, Teddy and Mickey were eager to
get up and at it once again, this time in the yard for group play. Teddy was
immediately drawn to Darby the Shihtzu, who he’s grown quite fond of over the
past week. Mickey always likes to stick close by his brother, and followed
Teddy who followed Darby around. He asked her to play a few times and she
politely declined, so Teddy eventually left her to relax and went to play with
his other Shihtzu pal, Dudley. Meanwhile, Mickey was still keeping an eye on
Teddy, but started to venture out and explore around the grass and by the
fence. They both seemed to really enjoy the cooler weather today, and were
happy to have a little nap in their cozy bed before heading back out for
afternoon group.
Max and Sadie were sprawled out on their
fluffy beds when I greeted them first thing this morning. They were slow moving
out the door, they needed time to stretch out their long legs and shower me
with morning kisses! After taking in
the cool morning breeze, they were wide-awake and anxious to head out for their
morning trail walk. Off we went trotting along the back trail; Max and Sadie’s
bums were wiggling in a distance in front of me and it was the perfect morning
for a nice walk. A little while later, they were up to their usual shenanigans
outside. Sadie perched herself up on every rock and the picnic table, only to
have Max come join her moments later to see if he could kick her off and they
battled it out to see who would be the King of the castle! Sadie always puts up
a good fight against her silly brother and usually comes out on top!
Best Golden pals Charly and Merida joined
Boris and Tasha for some fun outside. The four of them had free range of the agility
yard and this gave Boris and Tasha ample amounts of room to play their usual
game of chase. I was just waiting for the grand chase to start and sure enough
moments later, Boris was excitedly whipping around the yard with Tasha and
Charly close behind. Some things never change with these two, and chasing one
another at high speeds across our yards will likely never change! Everyone is
usually always chasing Boris, but at some point they switched directions and
Tasha decided that she wanted to be the bait. I have never seen her move so
fast, and she was thrilled to have Boris and Charly chase her for a change;
what a pair!
Abby S. joined us this morning for her
first day of her visit. She is as sweet as can be and is your typical happy
lab, always carrying a smile around and her tail never stops whipping back and
forth in excitement! She was curious to see who would be joining her outside
and she was happy to meet Shepherds Riley and Viggo, fellow yellow lab
Cascabelle and daycare ladies Annie and Zen. Abby was a social butterfly this
morning and made sure to make her rounds and introduce herself to everyone. I
could tell she was in a playful mood and was just waiting for someone to make a
move and entice her to play. Annie and Zen were happy to meet Abby and although
it was a slow start to the first half of the group, things really picked up for
the latter half. This was the first time that I’ve seen Annie and Zen engage in
play! They just couldn’t resist a good wrestle with Riley the Shepherd, especially
Zen. She was right in the middle of the action and excitedly chased Riley
across the yard with Abby right behind her! Something about Abby and the
Shepherd’s brought out the playful side in Annie and Zen that we all knew was
in there but just waiting to come out with the perfect friends. Well today they
had the best company and had a full morning of play, they were pooped by the
time they headed back in for an afternoons rest before they headed back out to
do it all over again! Abby A. spent some lovely one-on-one cuddle time with Katie in the reception area this afternoon. She enjoyed sniffing around and getting lots of pets. I decided to take her for a walk out in the field and she was very eager to walk through the long grass. We came to a patch of daisies and it was the cutest thing watching Abby stop to smell the flowers.
