Max and Sadie came in this morning for their first day of boarding, and what a nice day it was! It was hot hot hot outside so Max and Sadie had some fun playtime in the indoor playroom for their morning group time. They took advantage of the cool space and ran around, wrestling and boxing together.  I tossed Sadie her pink light up ball and she bounced across the room after it. Max only had eyes for Sadie, though and went flying after her, hoping to shift her focus onto him. Sadie caught her ball and started to nose it around on the floor when Max leapt on top of her, tackling her into a wrestling match whether she liked it or not! She kept on playing with her ball while Max mouthed her and whined at her to encourage her to wrestle back. Eventually, Sadie did join in and the pair had so much fun in one of their silly games. They tired each other out and took a little while to relax on the floor. Max watched as Sadie got up and went over to jump up onto the windowsill, which she always does with ease. Max thought he might like to sit on the sill too, but he’s such a big guy that he just fell right off! The pair were ready to head back to their kennel for a little leisure time until we went out into the yard a little later on. Sadie was still tuckered out from her wrestle earlier in the day, and laid down in the empty turtle shaped sand box, which has become her new favourite resting place. Max, on the other hand, could run around for days and did a few leaps over the agility jump before running off for a lap or two of the yard.

Finnigan the loveable goofball took part in two playgroups today. During his first outing, Finnigan met Red the Bloodhound, and they became very fast friends. Finnigan has played with a few of the other Bloodhound foster dogs that we’ve had, so I knew they would be a match made in heaven. Finnigan only took a break from wrestling with Red when he spotted the pool full to the brim with fresh, cool water! He didn’t hesitate for a second and raced over to plop himself down in the pool. He dipped his beard in the water and made sure he was fully refreshed before going back over to see Red once again. Finnigan came into the indoor playroom with his group for some fun in the cooler space, and he and Red simply brought their wrestling match inside! Later on, Finnigan went back out into the yard with another group of fresh faces, and this time he had tons of fun racing around with Georgia, who runs almost too fast to keep up with! Finn, Georgia, and Blue the lab all had a fantastic time trying to catch one another.

Tanner and Hobart joined us for daycare today, and stuck close by each other during their group times. It was quite the hot day, so Tanner decided to take it slow, easy and relaxed while in the yard. Hobart had a similar mindset, and enjoyed sniffing around along the fence and grassy areas, casually saying hello to the other dogs as he went. Tanner came to sit next to me so I could give him lots of pets and attention as we watched the other dogs roam around. Meanwhile, Hobart introduced himself to Nyxx the husky, and was very interested in playing with this new face. He pawed at Nyxx playfully and the boys hopped around together briefly. Hobart must have decided it was too hot to get too silly, and continued on his way around the yard. Tanner had the same mindset as Hobart, and although he did greet his friends, he was happiest hanging out and having lots of pets and cuddles by my side. The boys were even more ready to relax when we headed up to the indoor playroom a little bit later on, where they could keep extra cool on this warm day.

It was great to start the week off with our new daycare friends Annie and Zen! These girls are starting to open up more and more every time they come in. Today, Zen met up with Nyxx the husky, and she knew right away she wanted to be his friend. She walked right up to Nyxx with her tail wagging, saying a friendly and playful hello. Nyxx doesn’t stop moving for long, and Zen was up for some fun. She started to pounce and play-bow around him, enticing Nyxx to play with her. It wasn’t long before the pair were bouncing together, and Nyxx started to woo-woo at his new friend. Meanwhile, Annie kept her nose very busy in the grass, all while keeping an eye on her sister and friends. She saw that Zen and Nyxx were being goofy, and raced over to watch. The girls spent a bit of time near the end of their outing roaming around the grassy part of the yard and sniffing out anything interesting. Later on we had a bit of a change of scenery and went into the playroom where it was nice and cool.

Teddy & Mickey started their activities by going outside for a quick playtime. At first, they were both a little bit hesitant and they were trying to decide if they wanted to leave the kennel. Soon enough, Teddy jumped right out and Mickey followed closely behind. During the first playtime, Teddy and Mickey stuck together for the most part and just sniffed around. By the second time it was ready to go outside, they were both up and ran out of the kennel. Teddy was more confident and was playing around with the other dogs. Even though Mickey was still a little bit shy, he started running around with his friend Bailey for a little bit. Both had another fun and exciting day.

Darby, Iris & Amber were all happy it was another sunny day out. Their day started off with an indoor and outdoor playtime. They got a chance to play in the hot sun and got a chance to cool off. For the most part of the day, Amber stuck around Darby and they were off sniffing around and enjoying each other’s company. Iris on the other hand, was a bit more playful today. She was playing with her friend Bailey a lot of the time outside. She was trying to take Baileys toy away; unfortunately Bailey was able to keep the toy away from Iris. All three of them enjoyed the hot weather. They were also really happy they got a chance to play inside today to take a break from the hot sun. They all can’t wait for tomorrow to be able to play and run around again.

Abby & Dudley had another beautiful sunny day today. Since it was so hot out, Abby Dudley and all the other dogs got to have a chance to play in the indoor playroom. They started off their day with an outdoor playtime then an indoor playtime with all the other little dogs. Abby and Dudley both were fooling around and playing with the other dogs. Both of them had a lot of fun with Bailey today. In the indoor playroom, Abby and Dudley were chasing Bailey around the room. They used teamwork to corner Bailey and get her so she couldn’t run away. However, Bailey managed to escape the trap and the running around continued. They both loved being outside, but not for too long because it was too hot to be running around for long. They are excited for another playful day tomorrow.

Bailey started off her day with a nice playtime with all the other little dogs. Throughout the day and at every different playtime, Bailey would find a different friend to play with. Even when Bailey didn’t have a friend to play with, she had a toy in her mouth and ran all around the yard. At one point, her friend Iris tried getting the toy away from her, but bailey was too quick and kept the toy. They both had so much fun trying to get the toy away from each other. Bailey was always the first one out the door today and couldn’t wait to play. She was ecstatic to be outside on yet another beautiful and sunny day. When we were all inside playing in the indoor playroom, the first thing Bailey did was run to the couch, jumped up and gave me a kiss on the cheek. Another, fun and eventful day for Bailey!
