It was another fun day for Cascabelle. She started off her day with a nice walk with her friend Delilah. After that Cascabelle was ready to have special time all to herself and we did what she loves best: play fetch! Even when she got a little tired she would bring the ball back and was immediately ready to go fetch again. She then got to have a little bit of a rest in her nice comfy bed before going outside for playtime. As soon as it was time for group time, Cascabelle was the first one out the door and found a ball right away. She was ready to play fetch again even before I got outside! For the entire playtime Cascabelle ran after the ball. I have never seen a dog more in love with fetch than Cascabelle. She was a very happy dog today and enjoyed the fresh air and warm weather. Cascabelle gets to rest up for the night for another big day of fetch tomorrow. When Cascabelle saw me she immediately jumped up because she knew she was going for some extra attention. She grabbed her favorite ball and we were on our way. She headed to the front field where to play her favorite game. Cascabelle was so excited to play fetch the she started running before I even threw the ball. When I finally threw it she ran like the wind to get the ball. She ran back and dropped the ball at my feet, and when I reached down to grab the ball Cascabelle was, all ready for another round. Cascabelle did not want to stop playing at all she was always ready for the next toss.
Yoda and Viggo first came in this morning, and it was great to meet Viggo's buddy! They got settled into their kennel for a little while before heading out onto the trail for their morning stroll. They were happy to be back and even more happy that it was such a beautiful day. After a relaxing walk they got to go out for playtime. They were both happy to be playing with the other dogs, and both Yoda and Viggo made a friend who was named Annie. The three of them were hanging out and fooling around for the whole playtime. At one point, Yoda went to take a break from the hot sun, and curled up in the smallest patch of shade in the yard, silly guy. After a bit, he figured out there were patches of shade much larger and decided to lay down and stretch out! After playtime they went back into their kennel and both drank some nice cold water and took a little nap. They’re excited for more fun tomorrow.
Viggo and Yoda were both completely cuddled up on their beds when I went to get them for their extra attention time. However, they were up and running as soon as I opened their kennel door. Viggo tore down the hallway while Yoda quickly followed him as he wasn't sure what activity was up next. I started their extra attention time with some cuddles in the front reception. Yoda was especially keen on this idea. He came over immediately and sat down on a big comfy bed that I had set up for the two of them. After a belly rub and a couple treats, Viggo came over and decided he was ready to cuddle as well. He wasn't as interested in the treats but enjoyed getting a head and back scratch. The three of us then ventured off into the front field for a walk. Viggo took the lead once more but Yoda decided to go a separate way. We ended up in the long grass by the little hill that we have up front. The two boys must have been playing in there for at least 10 more minutes before we went back inside. They had a wonderful time.
Poppy began her day with a walk alongside two of her friends. During the walk she was the leader of the group, marching at the end of her leash and making sure she was always first to sniff any smells. If she saw that someone was in front, she would stop what she was doing and run to catch up. After the walk was done she was a little tuckered out from all that running. As soon as it was time for playtime, Poppy was up and moving and excited to go outside again. During her playtime she was making so many new friends. She decided to find the biggest dog, Dragon, and befriend him. They were walking around together during playtime and sniffing around the yard. Poppy loves the warm weather. At one point during playtime, she sat down right in the middle of the yard and stayed there for a good 10 minutes and just enjoyed the sun.
Victory had a great start to her day. Victory day started off with her with morning groups were she strolled along the fence line smelling anything she could get her nose into. After that Victory made friends with Molly and Oscar. The three started wrestling and they were a great match for this big strong girl. Molly and Oscar ran so victory gave chase until she caught up with them again. This continued the whole time they where outside. When it was time for their second outing Victory was excited to see her newly acquainted friends. Once the three of them where out of their kennels they were too excited to see each other and resumed their wrestling match before even stepping out into the yard! Victory and her new friends could play the whole night away.
Victory had another excellent extra attention time. I took her out into the front field for a quick walk before going to her favorite spot. It wasn’t long before she spun around 180 and immediately started running towards the creek. She knew exactly where it was and made sure I knew that she wanted to go over there. Once we got to the creek Victory paused for a moment and then jumped right into the water. She started splashing around and pawing at the surface. I could tell that she wanted me to join so I walked in as well. As soon as I got in, Victory started splashing her paws at me, it was the funniest thing! After a bit more swimming, Victory was ready to continue our walk. We stopped by the daisy patch as she sniffed out a couple scents. Once we got back inside,I gave Victory a couple treats as well as a back scratch before bringing her back to her kennel.
Pippin was ready to start his day when he saw me. When I opened his kennel he ran straight to the door eager to see what today had to offer. Pippin was excited to meet me and he was smelling and licking me, jumping up being super silly. We went out into the yard together and Pippin went to greet his other dog friends before coming over to hang out with me. When I sat down to see him he cuddled up beside me until Jake came over and the two started chasing each other between the yards. They played the time way chasing each other and rolling in the grass. They played like there was no time to waste.
I couldn’t believe how excited little Pippin was for his extra attention time today. I picked him up right away and took him to the front reception to see everyone. He made sure to greet everyone that passed by him but I could tell he wanted to search outside. Off we went into the front field for some adventures. I brought Pippin to our long leash that we have out front and attached him to it. From that moment on his nose went wild with all of the fresh smells. He followed scents all over the place from on top of the hill to the bottom of the hill in the tall grass. The grass was quite a good amount taller than him so it was just the cutest thing to watch him walk through it. Towards the end of his extra attention time to too of us snuggled in the shade while I gave Pippin a long belly rub.
Today was a lazy day for Oakley. She had a long, slow stretch before coming out of her kennel to greet the day during her very first morning outing. When she got outside she was super cuddly always trying to be around me. Oakley would nudge my hand or my side with her nose to get my attention. I kneeled down to Oakley height and she laid on her back waiting for a belly rub. Oakley relaxed in the shade and enjoyed all the attention I could give her. Oakley peacefully dazed into the field watching the other dogs play, always keeping pretty close to me like the sweet lady that she is. She was wondering if she wanted to join them but was enjoying the peace and quiet too much for shenanigans.
