Coco, Timbits and Bailey were very curious about the other dogs in their group today. We had a mixture of different sizes, breeds and personalities, with a little something for everyone. Coco sounded her Beagle alarm as soon as she set eyes on Wally and Glory the Bloodhounds across the yard, and slowly approached the fence to get a feel for them. They’re big gentle friends who get along with just about anybody, so it didn’t take long for Coco to march over and give them a sniff. Timbits, on the other hand, wasn’t fazed in the slightest by the presence of larger dogs, and went on his way to sniff around and munch on a strand of grass here and there. The third and final Beagle to enter the yard was Bailey, who marched right up to Wally and rolled on her back while he sniffed her nose. Glory came over to offer a greeting too, and Bailey was suddenly in the mood to play! She dropped into a play-bow and Glory stood perfectly still for a moment, deciding when to pounce. It wasn’t long before Bailey and Glory were weaving around the tunnel, the rocks and the other dogs as they chased one another across the yard. Meanwhile, Timbits had been wandering around and bounced over to join in the fun with Bailey and Glory. Glory left the Beagles to wrestle, and Bailey and Timbits had tons of fun rolling around together, as usual. I left them to it and went to join Coco, who was watching from the sidelines. She thought about jumping in a few times and started to run, but thought twice and came back to my side. She eventually went to lay down in the sun while Bailey and Timbits played with a ball.

Percy the silly goose was full of beans and ready to get going this morning! Right from the second he walked through the door, Percy was full of wiggles and excitement. Luckily for him, he didn’t have to wait long to get out onto the trail and stretch his legs. Percy march along the path alongside his friends Bentley and Cascabelle at a good pace. After his walk, Percy went for a little cool down time in his kennel until it was time for his first group outing of the day. He shot out of the door like a bat from a cave and went to find the best possible toy before someone else did. The rubber bone type toys are always among his favorites, and there were two out waiting to be snatched up, so Percy did just that. He played with each toy intermittently in games of fetch with me in between bursts of sprinting alongside his daycare friend Boris.

Issy and Mocha were delighted to be going for a walk on the trail with Susan this morning! After plenty of sniffing, a drink of water and a rest in their kennel, Issy and Mocha were ready to join some friends in the yard for their first group outing of the day. To my surprise, Mocha marched right out into the yard with the other dogs and stayed with the group for most of the time! She was very interested in our foster huskies Moka and Lotus and spent some time following them and investigating them from a distance. Meanwhile, Issy was roaming the grass with her daughter Tasha and grandson Boris. She always likes to say hello and hang around with her family! Tasha eventually made her way over to Mocha, and Mocha liked her quite a bit! She wanted to play with Tasha for a brief moment, but then decided she would like to spectate more while the hooligans raced around. Eventually, both Issy and Mocha wound up back by the door to relax until our group time was up for now.

Boris, Tasha and I headed straight out onto the walking trail as soon as they arrived this morning. We marched along at a good speed, although they both stopped to sniff our to pounce around in the long grass here and there. After walks we headed out into the yard with some of their favourite friends, such as Merida, Charly, Percy, Issy and Mocha, but also met some new faces, Moka and Lotus the husky fosters. Boris was infatuated with Moka right from the start, and followed her around for a while. Tasha said hello to the girls too, but didn’t hang around for too long. After all of the introductions were complete, Boris and Tasha set off across the yard on a chase, and Percy, Charly and Merida all joined in too. It wouldn’t be a Tuesday if Boris and Tasha didn’t stop to jump and wrestle on the tunnel, so of course they did just that! They both raced through the tunnel and back a few times before bolting off across the yard once again.

Vasco was excited to meet back up with Labrador pal Cascabelle out in the yard this morning. These two had such a good time together yesterday and they were ready for round two! Vasco is such a social boy, and in true Labrador nature he was smiling from ear to ear and racing around the yard to make sure he was able to say hello to all his friends in good time. Today he had two new admirers who were fighting for his attention, Red the Bloodhound rescue and Sophie T the Shepherd. Vasco exudes such fun loving energy, which they just couldn’t resist. Vasco didn’t mind the attention of course and the three of them happily played all morning long! Vasco couldn't have been more excited to see me come down the hallway for his extra attention time. As soon as I got him outside on the leash, Vasco led the way to the creek and was ready to swim. He jumped right into the creek and immediately started splashing all around. He was so funny because he'd try to lay all the way down in the water but didn't want to get his head wet so he would jump right back up again to splash some more. After he was done in the creek, Vasco and I jogged all the way back to the reception. Once we got there, I got Vasco to show me a few tricks for a couple treats and he couldn't have been happier.

Nymeria also joined Vasco and friends out in the agility yard this morning. I knew we were in for a good time with this little fiery redheaded Husky around! Sure enough she was the star of the group; much like Vasco, she has such a spirited personality that draws in the attention of everyone around her and no one could resist a good chase after Nymeria in the yard. She started leaping from the moment she set paw outside and soon enough she had resident Huskies Justice and Magic chasing after her. She ran and took cover in the agility tunnel and I could see her little head poking out to see if the coast was clear and then she was out whipping around the yard again! Later in the day I took Nymeria to the reception area where she met her good pal Julie, who was feeling feisty and ready to play. Nym never passes up on an opportunity to be silly, and she happily pawed at Julie and shared some stuffed toy games with her. It's adorable watching those two together! She then went out to have another group play time, but not long after that came her training session. It was perfect timing, since when we went out to the front yard, Leah was just coming in with her Husky, Kyah, who was off-leash and ready to greet Nymeria. I had her sit and we waited patiently to say hello to Kyah, though Nym was very very excited to see her! Next we went over to the long line and practiced the same recall exercise as yesterday, and with a little encouragement, Nymeria was running back to me when I called her. Before wrapping things up, Tiffani joined us outside with another Husky friend, Magic. Again, I had Nymeria sit and wait patiently to say hello to Magic. She just loves everyone so much it's hard for her to stay still! Our final meet up was with a smaller, more shy dog named Resa, and her calmer energy encouraged Nymeria to approach her more calmly and slowly. She's such a happy and social Husky!

Maggie and Jack were quite the social duo this morning for their first group outing. They had just come back from their morning trail walk with Bailey the Beagle and they were now ready for social time with the rest of their small-dog pals. They followed me out and into the grassy yard and started putting their little noses to work; they were ready to explore the yard. But they were quickly interrupted by daycare pals Miko and Pearl who darted over to say hello. Miko especially liked Jack and gave him a few friendly nudges to his back to see if he could entice him to play! Jack preferred to hang out with his sister Maggie, these two have an undeniable bond and win the award for best smiles! Jack and Maggie joined Tiffani for some one-on-one time in the reception area this afternoon. Jack is always up for some relaxation time in the big green chairs, but Maggie was, of course, ready to play! She loves stuffed toys, and she was jumping and flying around the room after a squeaky purple elephant. Jack stayed put in his spot on the chair and relaxed into a very cute position while he watched his sister's antics.

Daycare trio Miko, Lola and Pearl were happy to be back on another beautiful warm Tuesday. Lola in particular was quite pleased with the warm sun shining down on the edge of the yard and slumped herself down into a seat to enjoy! Pearl on the other hand is always a busy body and had already made it out into the far grassy yard to make her usual investigative laps around the yard. Miko was excited to say hello to all of the new faces he met this week and made his rounds to re-introduce himself to Vanna, Teddy and little Mickey. He had so many little friends to choose from to play with today; he especially loved little Vanna and excitedly followed her around the yard until she finally caved into a wrestle! Pearl had looped back around at this point and wanted to see what Miko and Lola were up too. Lola managed to get herself up from her comfy spot to come over and say hello. These three always manage to have a blast and love their Tuesdays together!

Max and Sadie are coming to an end of their of their week long boarding with us, luckily we have the pleasure of seeing them everyday for daycare so it’s never goodbye for long! Outside they were up to their usual Max and Sadie ways and made the most of their time outside. Max decided that he wanted to claim the top of the picnic table before Sadie even had a chance. He whipped out the door and excitedly claimed his spot. Unfortunately he didn’t get the satisfaction he wanted because Sadie didn’t seem to mind; she was too busy finding a spot to sprawl out in the sun! While Sadie was sunbathing, Max gave me a few perfect leaps over the agility jump; he was quite impressed with his moves and circled around the yard a few times after each jump until he made his way back again. These two definitely know how to keep me entertained and are the certainly the best company to have!
