Abby and Dudley are the cutest little pair during their extra attention. They zipped to the front and then followed me around hoping to snag a piece of my lunch. After I quickly ate, I sat on the floor to be on their level and Abby hopped around on her back feet trying to give me kisses. Dudley made himself comfortable in front of me for some back rubs. After Abby was finished trying to give me kisses she invited her brother to play with her. She somersaulted on the ground grabbing at his feet. Dudley couldn't resist the cute antics of his sister and the two were soon rough housing around the room. They continued their play almost until the end of the time up front. Finally they both settled down for a bit, Abby relaxing on the chair and Dudley at my feet, content as could be.

Mickey and Teddy had a wonderful start to their morning when they were joined by little Abby for a trot along the trail! Dudley was just ahead of them alongside Beagle friends Coco and Timbits. Although they have tiny legs, the three of them motored along just as fast as some of my big-dog walks! It’s definitely Mickey’s favorite part of the day; he loves to hop around and have all the freedom in the world. A short while later, they met up with Abby again outside and Teddy was thrilled to see her brother Dudley. Dudley and Teddy have become the best of friends over the past week and always have such a good time together. While Dudley and Teddy were horsing around, Abby and Mickey were off exploring the yard together - so much to sniff out there! Mickey and Dudley ran over to see Darby and enticed her to join in the wrestle, but Darby was more interested in seeing what her two little sisters were up to. Amber and Iris were already out in the far grassy yard enjoying the sun. Amber is always a short distance away from her confident sister Iris, but as we all know Amber is a confident little one herself and has completely come out of her shell. These three sisters are just the sweetest and have been having a wonderful stay with us so far. They were joined by the perfect pairs of friends who are of similar size; Mickey, Teddy, Abby, Dudley, Darby, Amber and Iris are the perfect little small-dog tribe and it’s so fun to watch them all interact in the yard. They have all become the best of friends and are really enjoying each other’s company.

Bailey had another fun-filled day spent with her favorite four-legged friends. Of course Beagle friends Coco and Timbits joined her, but perhaps the highlight of her day was meeting daycare pal Jemma. Although Jemma is much bigger, she has lots of experience with small, playful dogs and has a similar playful personally like Bailey. The two of them quickly became fast friends! Charly and Jemma had a blast chasing little Bailey around the yard and Bailey loved all the attention she was getting! The three of them had an epic pool party together; they splashed and played all morning long. Jemma was a little hesitant to get in the pool at first, and she delicately tested the water out, but when she saw Bailey run full speed into the pool, she decided it was a good idea to get right in and get wet! Coco was in a playful mood as well. Instead of opting for a spot to lounge out in the sun, she decided to gun it straight for the yard and see if she could spot the stuffie that she and Bailey were playing with yesterday. She wanted to make sure she was able to get it first. She sure did - she has a great eye and spotted it from a distance. She pranced around in pride with that stuffie in her mouth. However it wasn’t long before Bailey snatched it away - she is just so fast! That’s ok, Coco thought, she met up with her silly brother Timbits who was off exploring the yard and once she got his attention, the two of them joined the grand chase around the yard. Coco and Tim started chasing after Charly and Bailey who were whipping around the yard, but they decided that a brother-sister wrestle was in order and they excitedly jumped up on their hind legs and started mouthing each other!

Maya and Rocky decided that they would stay close to the door and out of the way of the chaos, it just happened to be the sunniest part in the yard along the perimeter of the fence! Rocky did venture out into the front grassy yard for a stretch of his legs, but when he saw all the activity going on in the grassy yard, he quickly made his way back to join his sister for some peace and quiet. Maya was very curious about all of the commotion going on out there, and she peeked her head around the corner and started wiggling her bum every time they came closer, but she wasn’t quite sold on joining them. Good pal Charly the Golden did make her way over to say hello, and Maya was pleased to get few nose nuzzles out of her. By distancing themselves from the rambunctious ones, they sure did get a lot of attention; they happily accepted lots of head scratches as they sunbathed!

Tsavo really enjoyed her smaller group today. She was quiet fond of Stella, practically a look a like. These two dark shepherds strolled around the yard side by side. After lots of adventuring, Tsavo got invited to play with some of the huskies. She was keen to dance around with them until Stella came swooping in and captured her attention. Stella got Tsavo racing around the yard, faster than I’ve ever seen Tsavo run. The pair were very cute frolicking in the long grass and dashing around the yard. After a couple bouncy laps around the yard, Tsavo returned to sniffing and exploring. She also took a break by my side to accept pets and cuddles before we returned indoors.

Max and Sadie were thrilled when Tiffani stepped outdoors and launched a whole pile of toys over the fence for them. Max was instantly intrigued by the Frisbee. He is always keen to race around the yard after it as it sails through the air. He enjoys leaping up at it and then wrestling it down to the ground. Sadie was obsessed with the big yellow plastic pig. At first she was carrying it around the yard, until she found a nice place for it in the empty pool. She lay down with it until I launched it across the yard. She happily returned it to my feet, and we played a couple rounds of fetch. Sadie is very agile, able to jump several feet in the air to capture the prize toy. We had a lot of fun playing around with the pig. When she was tired she curled up in the pool for a nap, which I found very adorable. While Sadie was napping, Max had my full attention. We enjoyed some snuggles and then we took a tour around the yard. He was happy to show off his agility skills for me, leaping over the jump with ease. When he was tuckered out, he too found a nice spot to lay down a rest.

Percy had a lot of fun in the yard today. He was hot on his feet from the moment he got outdoors. Percy was thrilled to see numerous toys on the ground. He trotted from toy to toy, checking them out deciding which one would be his treasure. He was happy to chose the orange bone and begin looping around with it. As usual, Percy bolted through the agility tunnel with a smile on his face. He got his friend Teddy chasing him which he was excited about. Both Teddy and Percy are fast runners and love to herd, which made their running very speedy and competitive. Percy continued to race around until he finally decided to take a break. He happily lay down in a nice patch of grass to gnaw on his toy. When it was time to come in, Percy brought his toy with him to enjoy in his kennel during his rest time.

Mocha was very active today! I haven’t seen her explore so much in quite some time. She loved sniffing and exploring  and had her nose in just about every patch of grass surrounding the yard. She was also very excited to offer me some kisses and snuggles. I thought it was very cute when our new rescue, Red, showed her lots of attention. He tried to get her interested in him by sniffing her, pawing at her, and dancing around her. Unfortunately, Mocha wasn’t too keen on playing with this gentle giant. She made her way back to their favourite resting position to enjoy the sun. Issy was occupied with all the scents in the yard today. She never stopped moving, with her nose to the ground and her tail wagging fast. Numerous dogs tried interacting with her, but she was much too busy to  give in to their socialization requests. Issy continued to sniff and explore until the end of group time when she made her way to Mocha.  The girls relaxed in the sun side by side, enjoying one another’s company on this nice day.

Kimi was very excited to get out on her walk this morning. She loved the company of Cai and Jemma. Kimi spent the majority of the walk in the long grass. Occasionally she would stroll onto the path before darting back into the field for more exploring. In the yard today, Kimi was happy to meet up with her grandma, Issy. These two enjoyed one another’s company as they sniffed and explored. Kimi was happy to spend some time by my side, accepting pets and cuddles as well. Right before it was time to head indoors, Kimi spotted Spencer lying down gnawing on some toys. She was very interested in him for some reason, and began dancing in a circle around him. He didn’t care much for the games she was trying to start, but this didn’t hold her back. She continued to wiggle around him and paw at him until he got up and danced back. They briefly enjoyed goofing around before Kimi set off to explore the yard on her own.

Hobart is always keen to get out on his walk. That’s his favorite part of his day here. When he saw me walking down the hall with the leashes in hand he began bouncing around his kennel. After politely sitting for me, I hooked him up and we head out. Hobart, myself, and two other pups enjoyed the stroll along the trail. Hobart was particularly keen to explore the long grass, that will soon be baled. All I could see was his fluffy tail wagging about. After loads of sniffing and exploring he made his way back onto the path, and led the way for the remainder of the walk. In the yard today, Hoabrt was mostly interested in sniffing and exploring on his own. He briefly met up with Kimi and danced around her, but then returned to his solo adventures. Later on, he was in a group with Jemma who was very smitten with. Hobart danced all around her, and she reciprocated his friendly attention. The pair enjoyed one another’s company before it was time to head in for a late afternoon break.

There’s nothing Teddy loves more than a group full of fast paced dogs. His group kept him on his toes today, from start to finish. All of his friends were eager to race and run around and he was thrilled to be the one leading them around the yard. He loved looping around after Percy, jumping on top of Spencer, and bolting behind Red. He didn’t stop moving very much, unless it was to accept pets and cuddles from me. In the afternoon, Teddy was happy to have the pool set up. He didn’t go in it much, however, he loved dipping his paws in and sticking his muzzle under water, just enough to cool off.

Cai is such a sweet boy. He is mostly interested in spending his time in the yard by my side, looking for as much attention as possible. He didn’t stray too far from me, which I was okay with. The sun made his coat very warm, which was nice to cuddle up to when the breeze picked up. Cai did break away from me for a bit to sniff and explore alongside some of his mates. He was interested in the longer grass by the back portion of the yard. He loves to dig at the ground and stick his muzzle into the cool dirt, picking up on whatever scents he can. Cai was happy to spend time with his daycare friends too. Although he didn’t get involved in much playing, he is always eager to supervise the action and simply enjoy their company.

Spencer is always a leaping bundle of joy. He couldn’t have fit this description better when walks rolled around this morning. He practically has springs in his legs as he leapt and bounded around his kennel before I could get him on a leash. When we were finally ready to take off, he set off out the door with a smile on his face. Spencer led the crew on our walk with a wagging tail. He enjoyed weaving in and out of the long grass. In the yard today Spencer was very focused on the bundle of toys that had just been put outdoors. He couldn’t decide which one he wanted the most, so he carried two around. He loved the stuffed raccoon, as well as a little plastic chew bone. He rotated between them, while also supervising his friends. Spencer briefly left his toys to run around with Teddy and Percy, but was quick to return. Kimi tried getting Spencer’s attention for more games, but he was much too focused on his prized possessions to get goofing around with her for long. He brought the yellow chew bone back indoor with him, and enjoyed gnawing on it in his kennel until his next outing.
