Victory and Nymeria were instant friends
this morning when they met up together in the yard. Nymeria was excited to have
another playful friend to keep her busy. Yesterday it was Sophie but today it
was all about big-girl Victory and they couldn’t have been a better match! Victory
was so excited to be back that she immediately started whipping around the
yard in glee, and Nymeria never turns down a chase across the yard so she was
right there with Victory. This got the attention of daycare pals Charly and
Tsavo and the four of them were speed demons out there! They didn’t slow down
until they noticed the pool; both Victory and Nymeria saw Charly splashing
around and they wanted to test out the water for themselves. Victory put one of
her paws in to test the temperature and she loved the feeling of the cool water
between her toes. Next she was fully in there even though she was much too big
for the pool! Without hesitation, Nymeria jumped right in beside Victory and
the two of them squeezed in side by side with their big floppy tongues hanging
out the side of their mouths! Tsavo was feeling extra playful as well today,
she loved watching Victory and Nymeria chasing one another across the yard that
she just couldn’t resist but join in. Although somewhat reserved at times, she
definitely has a playful side and there was just something about having these
two young pups around that got her feeling extra frisky. Tsavo and the girls
were exhausted by the time they headed back inside, and were thankful for an
afternoons rest!
Victory loved her one on one time. We made
our way out the front door and wandered all around the field. We had such a
nice trail walk, too. Victory led me to the stream where she watched the water
run by. After watching the flow for a bit, she decided to step in. She was
pleasantly surprised at how nice the cool water on her paws felt. Victory
danced around in the stream for a bit, before we continued our walk. After our
walk we had some nice cuddle time in the reception area. Victory is such a
gentle giant. She loves to snuggle and kiss, more than anything else. We had a
wonderful time together, with the company of a few other friends.
Nymeria was quite an excited girl when she
saw me come down her hall this afternoon. She must have known that it was time
for her extra attention because she was waiting right by her kennel door. The
two of us jogged up to the reception where Nymeria immediately found her good
pal Kinsey. Nymeria greeted Kinsey with a few kisses and waiting patiently for
a back rub. Soon enough she was back by my side and ready to play. The two of
us played endlessly with rope toys, stuffies, and even a kong. Shortly after we
were done, it was time for Nymeria’s training. We had Nymeria meet a few new
dogs today on leash, Merida and Victory, and Nymeria did an excellent job of
greeting them. For the most part she was calm and collected. There were only a
couple times at the very beginning where I needed to correct her but she
quickly listened to me.
Vasco had another wonderful day spent with
his favorite friends, being the social boy that he is, he has made a whole crew
of new friends and even so he gets to meet new faces everyday! He was excited
to meet little Poppy and Golden sisters Charlotte and Sophie. Both Poppy and
Vasco decided to check out the pool together and go for a dip on this beautiful
warm and sunny morning. After getting their paws wet, Vasco jumped out and
started his usual rolls in the grass, he likes to stick his bum into the air
and only roll his top half. Well Poppy just thought this was hilarious and
excitedly started running circles around him! While the pool was vacant,
daycare gentlemen Cai, Spencer and Percy decided that it was their turn. Percy
ran full speed towards the pool and leaped in, he even managed to bring a few
toys with him along the way. Spencer was surprised to get splashed by Percy as
he cannonballed in but he actually found it quite refreshing! Both Cai and
Spencer were all tongues today; it was a very hot! After their dip in the pool,
I saw them lounging out together in the shade in comfort! Percy didn’t need
shade today, he embraced the sun and loved running around with new friends
Vasco and Poppy who were just as excited to have a pool party!
Vasco and I had such a lovely time during
his extra attention. I let him lead him around, taking me wherever he wanted to
go. He was so excited to roam somewhat free throughout the field. He led me to
the lovely flower patch in the middle of the field. He looked so handsome
sitting amongst all the daisies. Next, we made our way to the river. He had no
hesitation wandering right in. He loves dunking his face and splashing around.
We slowly made our way down the river, to the bridge where he enjoyed watching
the water pass by. After a nice stroll, we went back inside to have some one on
one cuddle time. Vasco showed off all his commands for me, with much pride. He
is excellent at sit, paw, other paw, as well as speak. He had a harder time
lying down for me, but ended up doing it for some cookies.
Max and Sadie were excited to see good pal
Isis the Husky back out in the yard with them again today. Isis brought along
her sister Sky and both Max and Sadie were thrilled to meet her. Max was on his
best behavior and excited to have some new buddies in the yard. But I think
they were even more excited to have two of us out there with them, two extra
hands for head rubs! Both Max and Sadie ran over to give Leah lots of sloppy
kisses to the face; they were beyond thrilled to have all of this human
attention! Once they got their fair share of hugs and kisses, they were off in
their usual ways. Sadie found the green nylabone, while Max made his usual laps
of the yard but made sure to stop in and say hello to Isis and Sky on every
loop, they loved the company!
Issy and Mocha were very keen to get out in
the yard to sniff and explore today. Issy was eager to check out the pool, but
wouldn’t dare step in it. Mocha sniffed around it, took a gulp, then made her way
to her sunny wall where she relaxed. Mocha was pleased to accept lots of pets
and cuddles from me and Nicki while relaxing in the warm rays. Meanwhile, Issy
was wandering around exploring. She had her face buried in the grass for the
majority of her outdoor time. It was hard to get her attention to snap a photo,
as there were too many good smells in the grass. The girls were very happy with
their quieter group, which allowed them to mind their own business and enjoy
their time outdoors.
Kimi was particularly fond of Sophie, the
golden retriever today. Sophie approached Kimi in the yard with a wagging tail.
Kimi wasn’t too sure at first, but after numerous circles around one another
Kimi finally gave in. The girls were very cute dancing around. They alternated
tossing paws at each other, and play bowing. Sophie even tried leaping on Kimi,
then darting away looking for a chase. Kimi didn’t want to chase her, however
she did continue to play. Oliver joined in on their fun for a brief period too.
Kimi like the company of Oliver and Sophie, she was very bouncy today. When it
was time to come in she played a little game in the yard, making me chase her
around. She finally came in when she spotted other humans indoors, what a goof.
Teddy was very happy to be in a group with
Cascabelle, who is the queen of fetch. All her fast-paced running and bouncy energy
keeps Teddy very busy. He is always thrilled to follow anyone around with fast
movement, so he can try and control them. Cascabelle is so easy going she
barely noticed Teddy swooping around her. He kept very busy at this until he
finally noticed the pool was full. He then made his way into the shallow water
to cool off. He loves trotting around in the kiddy pool, avoiding splashes at
all cost. Before it was time to head back indoors he did a big explore of the yard
and continued to chase Cascabelle around.
Maya and I had a great walk this morning.
She was very busy smelling on the flowers that are blooming along the trail.
Her walking mate, Tatoo, was very fond of Maya and the pair did a lot of
flirting. Maya was keen to dance around with Tatoo and rush through the long
grass. Back indoors she was happy to find Rocky and hang out with him. When it
was time to go outdoors, the pair happily made their way down the hall and
outdoors to sniff around the yard. Maya braved her way into the grassy yard,
while Rocky stayed in the gravel yard. He enjoyed the company of some quiet,
independent dogs as well as myself. Maya briefly participated in some fun with
Shelby, Vanna, and Bailey. After a couple quick laps around the yard Maya head
back over to Rocky to hang out. They enjoyed their time in the sun together,
and enjoyed some extra cuddles from me too.
Maggie and Jack are such a sweet pair.
There isn’t a moment they aren’t looking for love or offering love. We had such
a nice trail walk this morning, accompanied by Vanna the little Havanese. Vanna
begged and begged for Maggie and Jack to play with her. Lucky for me, Maggie
and Jack know that walk time isn’t play time. They continued to trot along by
my side, stopping to sniff the flowers every once in a while, with wagging
tails. In the yard, Jack was very eager to be pet and cuddled. He laid down in
the grass next to be and accepted some belly rubs and pats. I made him a flower
crown, which he sported very well. Maggie saw me cuddling her brother and
dashed over to get in on the action. She was happy to accept some pets and
cuddles too. The pair wandered off together to sniff and explore side by side.
They were happy to meet some new friends, but mostly keen to explore the
perimeter of the yard before it was time to head back indoors. Maggie and Jack
can hardly wait to get up front for their extra attention, every day. They know what time it is when we open their
kennel and only their kennel. The duo darts up the hall and into the reception
area, eager for some one on one time. Jack got comfy on his chair right away.
He was so excited to receive pets and cuddles from me. Meanwhile, Maggie had my
other hand very occupied playing fetch and tug. We brought her four stuffies
up, which she can never get enough of. We had a lot of fun tossing these
around, before she too wanted to cuddle on the chair. Jack, Maggie and myself
had some nice quiet time on the big chair together, enjoying one another’s
company.
Bailey is quite the character. I am only
here twice a week, and I am getting to know her more and more. She never fails
to put a smile on my face, that’s for sure. Today she was so excited to get out
on a walk with her friend Beauty. These two kept me very busy along the trail,
darting in and out of the long grass. Bailey’s ears flap in the wind when she’s
running, it reminds me of Dumbo the little elephant. In the yard Bailey was
very keen to find a nice green rubber bone to chew on. We played some fetch
with the green chew bone, before Shelby and Vanna noticed the action. They came
bolting over and made quick friends with Bailey. This trio was unstoppable.
They were so fast zipping and zooming around the yard. Bailey took turns
leading the chase and then following. She also loved boxing around with Vanna,
and wrestling with Shelby. She never stopped moving until it was time to come
indoors for her mid-day nap.
