The lovely Victory was delighted to meet a couple of new friends this morning during her walk time. She roamed the misty trail alongside Leah and Poppy, who had just arrived this morning for their weekend stay. Victory later met up with some old friends out in the yard, including Vega the Husky and Gracie the Boxer mix. She happily trotted along the fence with Gracie, sniffing around and snacking on a piece of grass here and there. Victory was content to just hang around today and watch the goings on around the yard with the warm summer rain falling. Victory decided it was playtime a little bit later on during the day, when she saw that Vega was goofing around with Harvey and Casey across the yard. Victory raced over and joined in on their silly wrestling match, which went back and forth from the outdoor kennel, out of the rain, and back out into the puddles. She went for a little rest in her kennel to dry off for a little bit until it was time for her extra attention time with Katie in the reception area. Victory was still feeling silly and playful, and had lots of fun chasing the blue and orange ball around the room, only stopping for a little snack of liver treats; what a lucky girl!

Sophie the Golden is one of the happiest dogs I know! She’s always wagging her tail and ready for anything, and today was no exception. Sophie motored along the trail after breakfast this morning, and I could tell she was already envisioning what she was going to do during playgroups in the yard. When the time came for our first outing, Sophie ran straight out into the yard and did a couple of laps, keeping an eye out for a toy. She spotted one, but it was on the other side of the fence in the adjacent grass yard. I opened the gate for her and Sophie flew in and grabbed the green rubber toy, tossed it up in the air, and then laid down on top of it where it landed! She’s so silly. I tossed the toy for Sophie as many times as she wanted, until she decided to have another roll on top of it. Sophie took a break from her fetch game to say hello to some of the other dogs, including Gracie, Victory and Casey, and made sure to give me some cuddles as well!

Gracie was sprawled out on her big comfy bed and blankets when I went to get her ready for her walk time this morning. She stretched her legs and sniffed along the trail, as happy as a clam. She was even happier a little bit later on when I took her out into the yard with the rest of her group for some play time. We were lucky enough that it hadn’t started raining yet, and Gracie enjoyed roaming the yard and sniffing away around the fence line with her big pal, Victory the Newfoundland Dog. Once her thorough sniffing was complete, Gracie went to see what Vega was doing up on top of the tunnel. She thought it looked like fun, so when Vega hopped down, Gracie jumped right up! She walked along the top of the tunnel, showing off her agility skills to her friends, and then leapt down to go and stand on the new pallet with Victory. Gracie finished off her group time by saying hellos to the other dogs and having some cuddles with me!

Bailey couldn’t have had a better playmate in the yard today. She was over the moon excited to meet her new pal, Barbara the lab puppy during walk time this morning. Bailey wanted to play the whole way around the trail and just couldn’t wait until group time to have some fun. As soon as she set foot in the yard for playtime, Bailey instantly ran to Barb and tackled her, starting up a wrestling match! From that point on, Bailey and Barb were inseparable and spent all of their time playing together. They raced from the doorstep out into the grass yard, around the agility jump, under the picnic table and over to the tunnel. Bailey’s Beagle buddy Timbits joined the girls for a wrestle here and there, but for the most part Bailey and Barb were stuck together like glue!

Max and Sadie have been doing so well with their friends Isis and Sky lately! They seem so happy to have some company out in the yard, and today they were delighted to have Isis join them for walk time too. The trio walked through the misty and dewy field together, sniffing and pouncing through the long grass the whole way. During group time in the yard, Max and Sadie were feeling more on the calm side today, and enjoyed their time relaxing and lounging around. Tiffani joined us in the yard, which meant there were even more hands to pet them with! They’re such sweeties and it’s lovely to spend time with them every day.

Boris and Tasha were completely full of beans this morning. They came racing down the hallway when it was time for one of their playgroups and Boris crashed right into me when he first got outside. As soon as he did I was greeted with plenty of kisses before he took off into the farther yard. Tasha was close behind him but she also took a bit of time to say hello to a couple friends in the yard. Soon enough I saw Boris and Tasha running around the yard with their friends Isis and Finnigan. Boris was definitely in the lead for the most part. It seemed as though both Finnigan and Isis were trying to catch him. However, the two of them really weren’t able to keep up. Tasha wasn’t following him, but instead she had come up with a wonderful plan to try and get him. As soon as he raced around the agility tunnel, she was there to jump out and surprise him. It worked somewhat successfully because she did play tackle him but she ended up down on the ground as well, silly girl. After the game of chase was over, Boris followed me around, waiting for a game of fetch. He joined his pal Finnigan and the three of us threw a bright green toy bone around for a little while. Tasha was off on her own as she followed her nose around the yard. After my game with Finnigan and Boris was over, Tasha made her way over to see if I had any treats left in my pocket. She was in luck! I finished off her group time by getting her to do a couple tricks for the few treats I had left.

Annie and Zen did a little bit of everything this afternoon! They seemed to always be on the move no matter what they were doing. When they first got outside, I don’t think they knew just exactly what they wanted to do. Zen seemed a bit tired from her adventure this morning so the two girls started simply roaming around the yard together. They let their noses lead them in all sorts of directions before they got a bit more playful. Zen liked to follow along with the races that were happening in the yard. She was so funny because she’d jog with them for a little bit but then stop and wait for the chase to come back around. Annie caught onto the idea as well and the two of them took turns hooping into the chase every so often. Next up was cuddle time with me. Annie was the first one to trot over my way. She rubbed her back up against my legs and wait for a little head rub. However, as soon as Zen saw this, she decided that she just had to join in on it. I ended up giving Zen a full back scratch before the two girls bumped into their new friend Bella. All three of them ended up in a big rain puddle as they splashed around one another. Overall they had a wonderful day!

Bella had an excellent first day here at Tails & Trails! She was a little bit shy when she first met her group but she soon settled in. When she trotted into the yard, she was greeted with all of her new friends. She didn’t seem to mind the attention and simply waited until everyone had finished sniffing. She was soon involved in short race around the yard with her new pal Finnigan. Bella led the race as she took off into the yard with Finnigan following closely behind her. She raced through all four of the yards before coming over to see me. After a little bit of a back and head scratch from me, Bella was ready to venture back with her friends. This time Bella decided she wanted to observe what everyone was doing. She really enjoyed following her friends around the yard but didn’t join in on the racing until she bumped into Annie and Zen. The two girls and Bella hopped around one another for a little while but Bella decided she actually wanted to play a short game of fetch with me.

Finnigan was just as happy as ever this morning when he first arrived. After greeting everyone he passed, Finn was excited to see a big comfy bed waiting for him in his kennel. He jumped right on top of it and got himself all snuggled up until it was time to go back outside. However, Finn was up and more than ready to join me for his long outdoor playgroup a little bit later. He raced outside and immediately sniffed his old and new friends. Finnigan was interested in a new friend named Bella right away. He always seems to like the younger pups that come in. As soon as he met her, the two of them began a short race around the yard. They bounced all over the place before Finn decided to come over and see me with a big green bone in his mouth. I knew it must be time for a game of fetch or tug-of-war. It turns out Finn was in the mood for both! The two of us played for some time but all of a sudden he decided he needed to use some energy for another few races around the yard. This time he joined his friends Boris, Tasha and Isis. The four of them gallivanted as quickly as they could around the yard for quite some time.
