Extra Attention
Zoe and Flash had a great time during their extra attention. I made sure to grab some of the treats they brought in before getting them. When I came to get them, they both seemed quite excited. I brought them up to the playroom with me, and once we got in, Flash started to run around happily. Zoe stayed by my feet as we walked around the room for a bit. I think right away Zoe sniffed out the treats in my pocket. She looked at me and began to lick her lips. So, I asked her to sit and she did. At this point, Flash ran over as well. They both sat at my feet, and I gave them a treat. After having a treat, Flash noticed a red rubber toy on the floor. He ran right over to the toy and picked it up. He ran around with the toy in his mouth for a bit, then brought it over to me so I could throw it. I picked it up and whipped it across the room. Flash sped after it. We continued to play fetch for the entire time. Meanwhile, Zoe enjoyed her time cuddling. She was rubbing against my legs back and forth as I gave her back a rub. She also got some ear scratches. At the end of their time, I rewarded both dogs with another treat.
Pippin had his extra attention today in the playroom. I took a seat on the couch as he hopped up right beside me to give him some love. I began to pet him and noticed how tangled his hair was so I got a brush and began to brush him so all of his hair was nice and fluffy. By the time I was done he looked so good, even though I knew it would get ruined as he went outside later in the day to play with the other dogs. After that I grabbed a toy and began to play fetch with him; he only chased after the ball though and never brought it back to that game didn’t last too long. Instead he sat with me for cuddles. Some of the other dogs joined us in the playroom, and he began to get excited and ran over to them to play, he loved to play with them and kept on jumping up on their back to wrestle. Each time he did this they would run off and he would chase them with a smile on his face since he knew he would just try it again. When he was done running he came back to me as he sat for me for some treats and more cuddles before going back to his kennel.
Groups
Pippin had a super exciting day today. He started off with a nice long walk through the dewy morning grass. While on his walk Pippin took some extra time to sniff around in the hay and smell all the fresh wild flowers, I think it’s safe to say he quite enjoyed his walk this morning. After coming back from his walk, Pippin ran straight to his bed, walked around in a few circles and laid down for a little rest. Once it was time to go outside for his group Pippin ran excitedly to the door with all of his pals. As soon as we got outside Pippin went straight to sniffing, and it didn’t take him long to find the perfect grass to roll around in. While he was rolling around his good friend Flash caught his eye, and once he saw him he was up on his feet and chasing Flash around the yard. After chasing some other pals as well, Pippin came over to me and received a belly rub until it was time to go back inside.
Zoe and Flash had a very action packed day today. They started their day off with a nice long walk. When I came to get them they were so excited! During their walk Zoe spent most of her time with her nose to the ground sniffing out all the new scents that the rain had brought; however Flash spent most of his walk right by my side stopping only briefly to snatch up a few flowers. Once we got back from our walk the pair went to their bed and cuddled up together to rest up for the big day they had ahead of them. Once it was time to go outside, Flash eagerly ran to the door unable to contain his excitement to get to see all his friends, Zoe, on the other hand, had waited politely for everyone else before she ran outside. Zoe and Flash were very excited to meet some new friends today, the husky puppies. The pair chased the pups around the yard, and when Vega had taken a tumble Zoe made sure to stop to see if she was all right. After spending some time with the puppies the pair decided to go their separate ways and sniff around the yard until it was time to go back inside.
Coco and Timbits couldn’t have been any happier to be in for daycare today. They started their day off with a nice relaxing walk through the field. At the beginning of their walk they were greeted by some friends, who they made sure to say hi to. Halfway through our walk Timbits spotted the neighbor's horses, which he said hi to as well. By the end of their walk the pair decided to spend the rest of their time outside with their noses to the ground. After getting back from their walk Coco couldn’t wait to curl up for a nap, however Timbits said hi to all his friends. Once it was time for their group Timbits raced to the door, checking over his shoulder a few times to make sure his big sister was right behind him. As soon as we got outside, Timbits went straight to chasing all his mates around the yard while Coco sniffed around to smell all the new scents. After sniffing around for a bit Coco decided she wanted to join in on the fun too. By the time she did Timbits had found a bone and was laying in the grass chewing it. After chewing his newfound bone, Timbits decided to once again chase all of his pals around the yard with his sister until it was time to go back inside.
Polly had an amazing time at daycare today. She started her day off with a nice long walk through the field. At the beginning of her walk Polly decided to have some fun and chase a few pals around until she spotted a lovely butterfly that she then tried to hunt down. After unsuccessfully hunting the butterfly, Polly decided to sniff around in the hay a bit, unsure of what she should do next she took a few chomps of grass as she walked along. Once we got back inside Polly was so happy to lie down on her cot until it was time for her group. When it was time to go back outside Polly’s ears perked right up as soon as she heard me walking down the hall, she just couldn’t wait to get outside again. Once we were all outside, Polly met some new friends, the puppies. As she sniffed all the puppies over she realized she was still a puppy herself and tried to get them all to play with her, however they weren’t ready to play yet. After realizing the puppies didn’t want to play yet she went over to find her good pal Finnigan and the two went racing around the yard, happy to see each other again. After spending some time with her old pal Polly decided to sniff around until it was time to go back inside.
Abbie and Jock seemed very excited about being at daycare today. They started their day off with a nice walk. When I went to go get the pair they were ecstatic to go outside and see all the changes since they had been here last. As soon as we got outside Abbie and Jock bolted to the field, unable to contain their excitement for their walk. During their walk Abbie spent most of her time walking through the hay, sniffing out all the new scents she could find, whereas Jock ran around and rolled in some grass while grabbing a few pieces to munch on. When we got back from their walk the pair took a much-needed nap until it was time to go back outside. As soon as they heard me open up the door to go outside, Abbie and Jock ran out the door as fast as they could. Once we were outside Abbie ran to the big yard to sniff around and chew on some grass. Jock, however, decided to observe his friends chasing around the yard unsure if he should join in or not. After he decided to join in, Jock raced around the yard with all his friends while Abbie sat and watched them all. After a good run around Jock decided he would join Abbie in observing for the rest of their group.
Finnigan was so excited to be back for another day of daycare. He started his day off with a lovely walk around the field with a few pals. As soon as I clasped the lease to the collar he couldn’t wait to get outside. As soon as I opened up the door he ran out, waiting patiently for his friends to come and once they did he got right down to playing around with them before our walk started. Once we started walking around the field Finnigan took extra interest in the bushes, running over and rolling around in them. After getting out of the bushes, Finnigan spent the majority of his walk with his nose to the ground. However, when we passed the horses, Finnigan seemed to be completely mesmerized. After getting back from his walk Finnigan spent some time lounging around in his kennel until it was group time. Once it was time to go back outside Finnigan ran straight for the door stopping with just enough time for me to open it. As soon as he got outside his friend Polly had caught his eye and he ran straight over to her to check out what she was up to. After figuring she was just sniffing around, Finnigan enticed her to a game of chase me, which she gladly played with him. After chasing each other around the yard for most of the group, Finnigan decided to take the last few minutes to catch his breath and to sniff around the yard.
Max and Sadie were both so well behaved when I went to go let them outside this morning. When I asked them both to sit and calm down before opening up their kennel it only took them a second to pull themselves together and sit pretty for me so I would open the door. During their group outside we went into the agility yard for a change. Max and Sadie were both really excited to go out in a different yard for the day and as they walked out the door they began to run as fast as they could to the other end. All of the dogs proceeded to chase them and as Max noticed all of his dog friends running after him he got in a playful mood and was waiting for the perfect moment to pounce on someone. He stopped running while Sadie continued ahead slowly while looking back at her brother, Max play bowed towards the first dog that ran up behind him and began to chase after him with so much joy. Sadie saw it happen from the other side of the yard and bolted over to them to join right in as well. As Max was right behind the other dogs and wrestling around with them, Sadie’s job was to circle around Max and the others as they were playing. She would occasionally jump in for a second then run off on her own whenever one retaliated but the only dog she really played with was Max. When Max was done running around with the others he trotted off to the pool to cool off and to get a drink of water while Sadie wandered around on her own to sniff around. She walked over to the agility tunnel and decided to jump up on the top of it to observe everyone. Once she was standing up there Max walked over and around the agility tunnel while trying to get Sadie to come down and play with him. When she didn’t, he was trying to jump up as well to get her. That didn’t work and they both fell off leading them to start another game of tag that eventually everyone else joined in on as well.
Dougie is such a playful boy. He has so much energy and really shows it off while he’s outside with the dogs in the yard. Today when he went outside with his group he started off by being greeted by everyone as they ran over to him to give him a sniff and say hello. Immediately after Max sniffed Dougie, all he wanted to do was play with him. Dougie started to chase Max across the yard until Max realized and stopped running as he turned around to look at him. All of a sudden Dougie was being chased but it didn’t last very long as he wasn’t fast enough to stay in the lead of the others. Dougie began to jump up onto Max’s back to try and get him to wrestle with him, Max accepted that offer without any hesitation and these two pups started to play fight around the grass as the others walked over to watch. Dougie was having so much fun as they were playing and was using up his energy fast. So fast that he ran over to the pool not too long after they started playing together to cool off from the heat. He walked around in it with some other daycare dogs that he was playing with for a little while then jumped out to start walking around more with them.
Bella and Oakley are both such sweet dogs. They are always so well behaved whenever they come in for daycare and get along with each other and the other dogs very well. Bella loves to socialize when she’s out in the yard while Oakley is the opposite; she loves to socialize, but only with me. Right as I stepped foot out the door Oakley was right by my side as she was basically attached to my hip the entire time. Wherever I went this little girl would follow me while giving me lots of love the entire time. Whenever I would kneel down to pet her, she would jump up and put her paws on my shoulders to give me a little hug and attack my face with kisses. Bella didn’t pay as much attention to me as Oakley did; instead, she gave all of her attention to the other dogs that were outside with her. As soon as she walked outside she began to go up to each of the dogs to give them a sniff and say hi to them. When Max and Sadie began to run around with Dougie, that’s when Bella started to become interested in playing as well. She watched them for a while as she was standing over by the pool. She waited for just the right moment to join in and just as they all ran by her she jumped up and took off with them as they were playing tag. Bella was running around for the entire time she was outside, just loving to run. She ran through the agility tunnel then made her way over to the pool after a lengthy game of tag. She was out of breath and needed to cool off in some cool water so as Oakley was hanging around the pool she walked over to her to say hi then jumped right in. She laid down in the water so her entire body got wet and stayed there for a minute. Oakley watched over her wondering what on earth she was doing, not being too big of a fan of the pools. While the other dogs stopped playing and began to wander around Oakley walked over to them to say hi for a second before going off on her own to explore some more. After she was done exploring, she ran right back over to me to sit beside me until we went back inside.
Hobart is such a silly boy. He can either be super playful with you or not in the mood at all to play. This morning during his group as I was letting him outside he was napping in his kennel. He was all curled up into a ball as I woke him up. He walked outside after the others did as he was still waking up and joined them in the agility yard. When he first got out there he took it easy as he paced around the grass with his nose touching the ground as he began to explore. This boy likes to sniff everything, and I mean everything. He didn’t lift his head off the ground for almost the entire time he was outside. He walked along the whole yard, over to the agility tunnel then over by the pool where he stayed and hung out for a while. I walked over to him and gave him some cuddles - he loves it when I scratch his lower back and always wiggles his body when I do it since he doesn’t want me to stop. During his group outing in the afternoon as I was letting him out of his kennel he started to get very playful with me in the hallway and was bouncing around me trying to get me to chase him out the door. It was extremely cute to see him get so excited and playful!
Baileigh and Chrissie are both so relaxed when they’re both inside and outside. When I was letting them outside this morning they were both sleeping together on their cot all curled up together, neither of them wanted to go outside but I knew once they got into the yard they would enjoy themselves. After a little motivation, Baileigh decided to take the lead and walk outside and just as she did Chrissie followed her as they went into the agility yard following the rest of their group. They started to wander around the yard together as they began to explore around the grass. Baileigh came up to me from behind and nudged my leg coyly, and as I turned around she was standing there with a huge smile across her face waiting for me to pet her. I sat down and gave her some cuddles as Chrissie was still sniffing around the grass on her own. I called Chrissie over to come and join in and her face lit right up as she trotted over to come and see me. Chrissie especially enjoys the cuddles and once you start petting her it’s hard to stop since she always stays right by your side afterwards. She followed me around the yard for a little while as Baileigh decided to wander off to say hi to some of the dogs. She didn’t play with anyone but she likes to be social with them as they’re walking around as well, Chrissie walked over to a big puddle on the ground and kept on splashing her feet around in it. You can tell she was enjoying herself by the look on her face. Once she was done she stayed standing in it to keep cool as the water was coming from the pool.
