Hobart was all about the exploring. At first he made his way into the yard and spent some time debating on joining the rest of the group in the agility yard. Finally Hobart went through the gate. His attention was quickly caught by something in the grass right by the gate. Hobart spent quite some time thoroughly checking it out. When Ghira ended up over by him wanting to see what he was looking at, Hobart was happy to take a break from his exploring to say hi and give her a once over. Once that area had been thoroughly checked over Hobart decided to make his way to the far section of the yard and see what was going on in the grass over there. Once more he finished with that section and headed off to thoroughly investigate another.
Baileigh and Crissie were pretty happy to head out for group time. They both are settling in quite well and were eager to make their way outside to check everything out. As soon as Baileigh and Crissie went through the gate to the agility yard they were distracted by something in the grass. They both stopped to spend some time thoroughly checking it over. When they were done with that Baileigh and Crissie continued on into the yard. Crissie kept on exploring while Baileigh stopped to see what the other dogs were up to. That done Baileigh went and caught up with Crissie so they could do some more exploring together. Baileigh and Crissie made their way all around the yard, then stopped to check out anything that caught their attention. After they’d made their way around the yard Baileigh and Crissie made their way over to me for some pets and attention. Crissie then noticed the pool and immediately headed in that direction. Baileigh decided to tag along. As soon as they got there Crissie was in the pool and dunking herself. Baileigh stood at the side watching her antics. Feeling cooler Crissie hopped out and went trotting off to see if she had missed anything in the yard while Baileigh followed after her.
Finnegan wasted no time in going booking around the yard at warp speed. He came to an abrupt stop when he met up with Adele. They spent some time saying hi until Adele wandered off. Finnegan was then joined by Max and Ghira, who both wanted to say hello. It didn’t take long for Max’s hello to turn into asking Finnegan to play. Finnegan was all for this and took off once more. Max ended up getting distracted as Finnegan went racing over to Duke. It took about two seconds for them to start wrestling. Eventually Finnegan needed to cool down and so went racing over to hop in the pool. Feeling refreshed Finnegan left the pool to see who wanted to play now. He ended up back with Adele. It was pretty cute to watch as she stalked him and he waited for her to pounce. Their was fun was later joined by Max and Ghira.
Jock and Abbie were ready for it to be time for group. As soon as they got out the door both of them were off checking stuff out. Jock ended up checking stuff out with Casper while Abbie headed out on her own. As soon as she noticed that Casper had left Jock, Abbie made her way back over to join her brother. The two of them then set out to do some exploring together. Jock and Abbie quickly decided that it was a little too warm to be doing too much in the sunshine and so decided to stick mostly to the shaded section. After doing a little more exploring the two of them decided to spend some time socializing with the rest of the group. Abbie and Jock ended up meeting up with Benji and soon the three off them were off checking out stuff along the fence line. Once they’d thoroughly investigated everything in the shade Jock finally decided to venture out and see what else was going on in the yard. He didn’t last too long and was soon making his way back to Abbie and the shade.
Benji was quick to put his nose to the ground and set off in search off all the interesting scents. He ended up making his way over to the picnic table and began giving it a very thorough once over. Once Benji finished with the table he continued on his way with his nose still to the ground. After he had gone around the main yard Benji headed out to the far yard to continue his explorations. Benji became very interested in what was going on next to the fence line. He spent some time checking it out with Coco. I left him to his explorations and went to check on some of the other dogs. Benji’s curiosity got the better of him and he quickly decided to tag along after me. He ended up meeting up with Jock and Abbie and doing some exploring with them. When Benji finished with that he made his way over to me for some pets and attention.
Max and Sadie had so much energy when they came in this morning. They started their Monday off just right with a walk around the trail with me. They were both so excited to go on their walk that they couldn’t stop bouncing all over the place as I was trying to put their leashes on. Once we started walking they calmed down a little but that was only temporary because when we went outside again for their group Max and Sadie were tearing up the whole yard. When they first walked out the door Max began to run around almost immediately and chased a few of the huskies into the further yard where they started to run around in circles during a game of tag. Sadie always goes off on her own when she first comes outside; she sniffed around the gravel yard and explored for a bit before joining the others. She made her way slowly to the further yard where she trotted around the grass and sniffed around some of the holes that some of the dogs dug in the ground. As her nose was buried in the hole, the pack of dogs raced by her and caught her attention and she stood up ready to play as well. Sadie joined Max as they chased all of the huskies from one side of the yard to the other. They used up all of their energy so that by the time we were going inside Sadie was relaxing in the shade on the picnic table and Max was circling around the pool and taking big gulps of water.
Zoey and Flash love to stick together, especially out in the yard. Whenever I pass by them in their kennel they’re always side-by-side either laying down and napping or just glancing at each other. Even outside these two didn’t like to leave each other’s sides as they trotted around the gravel yard at first saying hello to the other dogs together without having to be apart. After a bit though they decided they would be okay if they spent some time on their own as Zoey started to take off towards the grass yard. She did a little bit of sniffing around as Flash stayed in the same spot but became more social with the other dogs. They seemed to find Flash very interesting as they wouldn’t leave him alone and followed him everywhere. He saw that Zoey was across the yard and decided to check it out; he walked along the fence and slowly made his way over to her as he explored. Zoey and Flash did love their cuddles. After Zoey was finished exploring she ran over to me as she kept on rubbing her head against my leg for me to give her some pets.
Miko and Pippin are both so much fun to have here. They are both so playful out in the yard and really know how to get all of the others amped up and in a playful mood as well. When they first walked outside Miko took off to go and explore the yard on his own, he loves to run out to the grass yard and sniff around for a bit before running back over to socialize. Pippin decided to stay by the door at first and socialize with the other little dogs. He’s so friendly and always runs up to each of the dogs to give them a sniff and tries to get them to play with him by pawing at them. He got one dog interested in playing and these two started running towards where Miko was in the grass yard. Right as Miko saw them coming towards him he popped his head right up and began to chase them around in circles. The three of them ran through the agility tunnel and kept on going in circles until Miko caught up to Pippin. Once they were together they started wrestling around on the grass and jumping up on each other playfully. It didn’t take long before they were both all worn out and Pippin started to walk off to go to the pool. He walked around it for a bit before taking a drink, I encouraged him to go in the water but he wasn’t feeling it this time. It wasn’t until he walked back over to the pool later that I saw him hop in quickly then jump back out. Miko wandered over to the big hole and began to dig in it furiously; he loved to dig super fast so all the dirt flew up and went all over the other dogs.
Lexie is such a sweet girl. She can be so shy at times towards both people and dogs but she seems to come out of her shell more when she’s around people. During groups outside this morning just as I opened her kennel door she was all snuggled up in her bed taking a nap, I went over and picked her up as she got comfy again in my arms. When she was outside she kept to herself mostly but stayed in the same areas that all the dogs were hanging out in. As she was wandering around the gravel by the door she started to sniff along the fence as some of the dogs walked over to her to giver her a sniff and say hi. Lexie seemed a little put off and ran over to me as she went in between my legs for some comforting, I gave her lots of cuddles as she climbed up onto my lap to give me a kiss. I got up and walked over to the picnic table and she quickly followed behind me and jumped up right on top to sit beside me the rest of the time.
Extra Attention
Lexie joined some of the other little dogs up in the front this morning, they were all so playful but when Lexie first joined them she was a little bit shy towards them and was unsure whether or not she wanted to play. Since this is a special time for Lexie and all Lexie could do was think about how much she wanted to come up on the chair and sit with me, I let her up and she curled up on my lap and gave me a million kisses as I sat with her. When I tried to get back up she climbed onto my shirt since she wanted to stay exactly how we were, I sat with her there the whole time during our extra attention.
Pippin had a very fun time during his extra attention today; he got to spend some time with his good pals Miko, Bruno, Lexie and Samson as well as all the staff so there was lots of attention to go around as well as fun with friends. He started off with some yummy treats in return for a few tricks; he loves to show us how good he is at giving paw. After spending some time practicing his tricks Pippin started to chase his pals around reception, the group loved running around to get some energy out. Pippin ended his extra attention with lots of cuddles and kisses.
Zoe and Flash spent their extra attention in reception today. The pair couldn’t wait to check out all the new toys we have in the toy bin. After checking out the toys Zoe and Flash went on to sniff around and see all the new scents. Once Flash was done sniffing around he came over and asked for a few treats. Flash loved showing off all the cool tricks he knows, Zoe however sat in the big comfy chair and watched. Once Flash was doing showing off his cool tricks I went over to Zoe to give her some treats and cuddles - the pair definitely enjoyed spending some time up front with us.
Miko was so excited to make his way to the front of the building for some extra attention time. He went charging into the room and started to look around and see what was going. There were a few other people and dogs hanging out up there so Miko ran around saying hi to everyone. I found the yellow chicken toy he quite loves which quickly caught his attention. Miko came racing over to me to try and steal the toy away. We had a little game of tug before I gave it a toss. He went booking it after the toy and snatched it up. Miko then went prancing around quite proud of himself. He eventually brought the toy over which earned him lots of pets and and another toss.
