Groups

Tasha and Boris were pretty excited to head out for group time. They went charging out to the yard and immediately went to say hit to the rest of the group. With that done, Tasha headed off to check out if there was anything interesting to find. Boris wasted no time in racing off to play with Justice and Koda. After racing around the main yard a couple times we decided to make our way to the agility yard. Tasha was happy to have a new place to check out and joined the rest of the group. As they got out to the yard, Boris took a quick break to see what his mom was up to. It wasn’t long before he was back racing around with Justice and Koda. They ended up racing out back to the main yard. Tasha decided to take a break from her exploring and go and see about joining in the fun. She set her sight son Koda and kept bouncing on him trying to get him to play. I think he was a little confused, but soon they were having fun. Needing to cool down, Boris, Justice and Koda made their way back to the agility yard and into the shade where they then enjoyed some tasty greenery. Tasha decided that looked like a good idea, but she went a few feet down so she could enjoy some solitude. She then became aware of the pool and quickly went and hopped in. Boris noticed his mom in the pool and went and joined her.

Bruno couldn't wait to get outside. Once we got out there though he was all about getting as much attention as possible from me. Eventually I had to stop petting him so Bruno headed out to do some exploring. Bruno's attention was then captured by Timbits over in the far yard. He went trotting out to see about getting him to play. Bruno pounced on him trying to get him going. It wasn't long before the two of them were having a blast wrestling. Soon Timbits took of running and Bruno went charging after him. Needing a bit of a breather, Bruno made his way back over to me for a pat, then he was off racing around with Timbits once more. They were joined by Emma and Abby as they went tearing around the yard. Timbits took a break from running to go and get a drink from the pool. Bruno quickly decided that was a great idea.

Coco and Timbits were both waiting at the kennel door to get out for group time. As soon as they got out the door they went trotting off together out to the far yard. As soon as Coco and Timbits got out there they split up. Coco made her way around the yard with her nose to the ground. Timbits met up with Max and soon they were having fun wrestling and running around. Coco continued on around the yard pausing occasionally to check on Timbits. Timbits ended up losing Max when he headed out to do his own exploring. He wasn't alone long as Bruno came running over to tackle him. Timbits and Bruno were quick to start wrestling and having a great time together. Timbits took a break to say hi to Emma and see how she was. When Emma moved on, Timbits and Bruno's fun recommenced. Coco's exploring paid off as she found herself a nice bone. She settled down to have a nice chew. Coco didn't stick with the bone long and decided to make her way over to the fence to start thoroughly investigating everything. Timbits and Bruno took a break from wrestling to go racing around the yard. They were soon joined by Emma and Abby. They boys didn't seem to mind the company and continued to rip around the yard. Timbits and Bruno then decided to have some more wrestling fun. Coco finished up with the fence and went to go see what Timbits was now up to. Once she was done that she headed out to see if she'd missed anything around the yard. Needing a drink Timbits made his way over to the pool to cool off.

Emma wasted no time in go trotting out into the yard to do some exploring. After a quick tour of the main yard she headed to the far yard to continue her explorations. Emma was distracted from her exploring when she noticed Timbits and Bruno playing. She made her way over to see what they were up to and see how they were doing. When they took off Emma watched them and debated on joining. I could see her twitch wanting to pounce and go racing off. Finally Emma couldn't resist any longer and went charging after them. The racing came to end when Timbits and Bruno started wrestling so Emma stood nearby waiting impatiently for the running to start once more. When the boys went to get a drink in the water Emma decided to make her way over to the shade and spend some time with Julie.

Finnigan and Bauer had such a fun day outside this morning. They were both in great moods as they ran out into the agility yard to start their day. Bauer was acting extra playful since there was a new dog that joined their group and I think he was interested in her. Finnigan is always super playful out in the yard, so it was no surprise to me to see him running around with everyone right as he got out the door. He started a game of tag that Bauer and some of the others joined in on. Bauer looked like he was having such a good time burining off some of his energy. After the game of tag he had to walk over to the pool and have a drink of the water before finding a spot on the ground to lay down and rest. When I sat down with him he got up a bit and crawled onto my lap and sat down again. He’s a little too big to be a lap dog but he sure does love the cuddles. Finnigan saw me petting Bauer and got a little jealous. He was across the yard digging in one of the holes and ran over to me to try and get in on all of the cuddles. As I was petting them both they seemed to have made each other excited again and they both got up to start round two of their game of tag, except this time they played separately. Bauer played with his new friend while Finnigan took on the rest of the dogs, they ran as fast as they could from one side of the yard to the other until eventually their games joined into one. Finnigan didn’t stop until he reached the pool and decided to take a dip. He laid in the water and rolled around in it so his entire body was wet. Bauer stayed around all of the dogs outside of the pool instead.

Leah and Poppy are always so wonderful to have here whenever they come to stay with us. They’ve both opened up so much since they started coming in, especially Leah. She loves to run over to all of the dogs and hop right in the center of them so they all start playing with her. When she did it today a few of the dogs started walking around her as if they were ready to run across the yard. Leah play bowed and decided to run herself. She raced across the yard and stopped as everyone followed her. Poppy was being a tad shy when she first came outside today. She wandered around the gravel yard for a little while before making her way to the door to sit and relax by herself. I walked over and got her to follow me into the agility yard where the rest of the dogs were. She didn’t seem too interested in the others though. He sat down and I sat beside her to pet her, she was enjoying it so much that she moved over to go on her back so I could give her a belly rub. I tried calling Leah over so she could join us as well but she was way too busy socializing with the other dogs to look over at me. She was being so friendly with everyone and was always in a group.

Bella was having so much fun out in the yard today, along with her pal Casey. Bella is a very happy dog and has so much energy! Whenever she comes out into the yard she always has to bounce around everyone for a few minutes before she can settle down and decide what she'd like to do. She started wandering around the yard at first with Casey. They sniffed along all of the rocks that are against the fence. Casey was acting a little shy at first and spent some time on his own for a little while. Bella took it upon herself and walked over to see Casey as he let her give him a sniff. Casey soon opened up and they both took a break from exploring to walk over to all of the dogs. Bella was more ready then ever to start playing. She picked up a rope toy and held it in her mouth as she bounced up on some of the dogs to get them to chase her. Finally some of them started to run and she ran around the yard a few times before running back over to the pool to cool off, she jumped in and stood in the water to cool off as she continued watching everyone play. Casey wasn’t interested in playing tag but he loved to watch. He stared at the others as they ran around the yard. I went over to give him some cuddles as he held his head down into my lap for me to scratch it. When he started walking around again he walked over to some of the other dogs to greet himself before Bella ran back over to try and get Casey to play with her; to my surprise it worked! They were both wrestling with each other on the ground for a minute before Bella ran off again.

Extra Attention

Bauer had definitely figured out that when I go to get him outside of group or walks it’s time for extra attention. He got to his feet immediately and went trotting up front. Bauer wandered around and checked everything out. With that done, he came and presented his butt for some scratches and pets. Bauer was pretty happy to spend the rest of our time like that. We were the joined by Isis and Sky who came and said hi. Bauer was happy to spend some time with them as long as it meant that the pets didn’t stop.

Bruno and I got to spend some time together after walks for his extra attention. As soon as I opened the door of his kennel he knew exactly what time it was and started bouncing all over the place with excitement. Once I had the leash on him, we headed out the lounge for some playtime. He could hardly wait! On the way there, Bruno kept running around my legs to encourage me to walk faster. When we were in the lounge I took the leash off Bruno and he immediately began racing around the room to sniff everything. He thought the table was quite interesting and spent some time checking it out before he moved on. Bruno had so much energy that he couldn’t sit still and just kept running around. He discovered a nice bone and decided to carry it with him while he explored, until a new toy caught his eye and Bruno went bounding after it instead. Once everything had been sniffed, Bruno came over to cuddle with me for a bit. He leaped onto the couch and sat there happily while I petted him. After that, we played for a bit with the bone and another toy. Bruno grabbed the toy in his mouth and started rolling around on his back while knocking the toy around with his paws. Then Bruno decided he needed a break, so he rolled over at my feet for a belly rub.

Bella was so excited when I opened her kennel door this morning for her extra attention. She ran all the way up the hall to the playroom where she waited for me with her tail wagging like crazy and a big smile on her face. When we got in the play room she rushed over almost immediately to the first rope toy she saw on the ground. She shook her head while it was in her mouth playfully and dropped it at my feet to throw. I threw it across the room as she chased after it with so much excitement. I threw it a bunch of times for her and each time she brought it back to me. At one point she got a little distracted by the rest of the toys in the room that she decided to drop two or three toys at my feet to throw. I sat down on the couch and Bella jumped right up and sat beside me as I gave her a bunch of cuddles, the more I pet her the more excited she got and gave me lots and lots of kisses.
