Extra Attention:

Bauer enjoyed his time during extra attention today. When I came to get him in his kennel, he got quite excited. He happily followed me down the hall, and we went into the playroom, as he seems to enjoy that room. I made sure to throw a few liver treats in my pocket before getting him. I think that is the first thing he sniffed out when we got in the room. He sat at my feet and started to drool- I knew for sure that he had sniffed the treats out. Since he was being such a good boy, I gave him a treat. I then sat on the floor, and he came over to me and started to stick his nose into my neck and tickled me. He pressed up against me and tried to put his paws on my legs. I scratched his ears and he made a silly groaning sound while tilting his head and closing his eyes. Then, Bauer slid and laid down so that his head was in my lap and the rest of his body was between my legs. This made it perfect to get tummy rubs and cuddles. If I would stop petting him at any moment, he would reach one of his paws up to me gently. He enjoyed lots and lots of cuddles for the rest of the time together.

Bella was such a happy girl during her extra attention today. I decided to bring her outside with me to let her use up some of her energy. It was so nice out and right as we walked out the door she began to zip across the yard since she really wanted to run around. I brought her over to the long line and hooked it onto her collar so she could start running around. Bella was very curious at first and started to sniff around the yard instead of running right away. Another dog came outside and Bella got so excited she couldn’t stop jumping around. She said hi to her as she passed them walked back over to me when I called her. I got her to do some basic tricks for a few treats and after she sat and laid down for me she walked over  to the shade to lay down for some cuddles.

Miko was excited when I went to get him from his kennel today. He had just come back in from group and so looked at me like he wasn't sure where we were headed, but followed along happily. We made our way out to the front yard and into the little pen set up there. I brought some treats with us and Miko was more than happy to play hunt the treats in the grass. He used his nose quite impressively and managed to find all the treats. Since it was pretty warm out Miko and I headed inside to spend some time cuddling in the air conditioning. He was more than happy to get a ton of pets and attention.

Groups

Max and Sadie were waiting expectantly in their kennel for it to be their turn out for group. As soon as I opened the door they were off. Max and Sadie went racing over to say hit to the rest of the group. Everyone then made their way over to the far yard where something in the grass really grabbed their attention. It wasn’t long before Max was bored and ready to play. He went off with Rosie so they could play and wrestle without crashing into the others. Sadie was content to continue her explorations. As soon as she had seen all she wanted to see, Sadie went booking it after Max and the huskies. Not too long after that Max ended up needing a bit of a breather so Sadie went back to her exploring. Max made his way over to Kyah and spent some time flirting with her. He then decided to spend some time exploring with Sadie. Max then noticed the pool nearby and made his way over for a drink and too cool of his paws. With that done, Max made his way back to Sadie to do some more exploring together. Sadie eventually made her way over to the play structure and climbed right in. She was then quite happy to lay in the cool dirt and shade for the rest of group.

Finnigan and Bella found each other about two seconds after they got out the door. They took one look at each other and that was it. Finnigan and Bella started wrestling and leaping around together. Since this way all happening right in the entrance way they went running further into the yard so they’d have a bit more room for their antics. It wasn’t long before Bella and Finnigan caught the eyes of Casey and Duke, who came running over to see about possibly joining in the fun. Bella and Finnigan were so caught up in each other they were kind of oblivious to the others and continued on playing. Eventually they did need a bit of a break and so they headed out to do a little exploring together. Wanting to cool off even further, Finnigan went racing off to the pool and leaped in. Bella was quick on his heels and spent some time debating whether or not to join him in the pool. Finnigan ended up hopping out so Bella was more than happy to hop right in. Finnigan had gone running off I think thinking that Bella would follow him; when she didn’t he went running back to see what the hold up was. It didn’t take him long to convince Bella to come play once more. Once more they were joined by Casey and a couple others.

Casey was so ready for it to be group time. He went running out the door and immediately went to see what everyone was up to. With that done, Casey decided to head out and do some exploring around the yard. That didn’t last overly long when he noticed Finnegan and Bella playing. Casey went running over to see about joining in. Unfortunately they were too wrapped up in each other they didn’t notice. Casey took it in stride and went back to his explorations. After a little while he saw another chance to join the fun. Soon Casey was having a blast racing around and wrestling with Bella and Finnigan. While they were running he met up with Duke. They took stood staring at each other and then Duke play bowed. Next thing Casey and Duke were off tearing around the yard together.

Monte, Simon, and Tessa were all pretty excited to head out for group time. As soon as they got outside they did a quick tour of the main yard before making their way out to the far yard. Along the way they met up with the rest of the group and spent some time saying hello. Tessa didn’t make it very far into the yard when she was distracted by something by the fence. She caught Jake's attention, and he came over to see what she was up to. Tessa took one look at Jake and decided she’d rather like to play with him and started to bounce around. Further into the yard Monte was racing around with Miko and Abby. Simon stood watching and debating on joining in. He then decided to make his way over to Tessa and Jake and see what they were up to. Tessa then left them and went over to check out the hole. Simon came for a quick visit with me before going back to watching Monte, who was still having a blast racing around with Miko and Abby. Simon watched for a little while and after almost getting run over, decided to rejoin Tessa. When he found that she was taking it easy, he headed out on his own. Monte noticed this and took a break from playing to go and join his brother. Monte left Simon to come have a visit with me. After some butt scratches he went racing back over to where Simon was now exploring with Tessa. Wanting too cool off a bit, we all made our way over to the shade. Tessa was quite happy to discover the puppies all hanging out there. She was soon having a great time playing with them all. Monte and Simon watched her antics and added some commentary, but where happy to let her have all the puppy fun.

Miko was nice and relaxed today when he went outside this morning with his group. He walked out the door and proceeded to say hello to some of his friends that were outside with him. If they didn’t walk up to him he would go over to them and give them a sniff before going off to explore around the yard. As Miko smelled some of the dogs, all of them began to surround him in a circle so they could give him a sniff as well. Then he trotted over to the grass yard and took it easy as he walked along the fence and to sniff around some of the plants and rocks. This boy sure does love to use his nose when he’s outside! After he was done doing that, he curiously walked over to the middle of the yard where he went to explore some other things. Miko walked all around the agility tunnel and jump then walked over to the hole that he loves to dig in but this time he didn’t feel like digging and rather stuck his face in it to look around then took a seat next to it in the sun to lay down.

Bauer was extremely happy to go outside with his group today and just like Dexter, he was excited to see everyone. Buaer loves to socialize with other dogs, while Dexter more so likes to keep to himself. When they both went outside today with everyone, all Bauer could do at first was run over and bounce around me to try and get my attention so I would pet him. Meanwhile, Dexter was over by the door giving some of the dogs a sniff to say hello before trotting away on his own. After I pet Bauer to say hi to him, he seemed satisfied enough to go off with the other dogs and start saying hi to them as well. When Bauer says hi to the others it  gets him really pumped up and in the mood to play. He started to chase around a couple of the dogs from one side of the yard to the other, trailing behind the group. Good thing this never stopped Bauer from joining in! Dexter kept to himself as he wandered around the further side of the yard. He trotted through the long grass with his nose glued to the ground as he sniffed through all of the plants and rocks that were there. Dexter wandered all across the yard and I followed him until he stopped long enough for me to pet him. Bauer took a break from running around and skipped over to the pool where he stopped to take a big drink of water before continuing on. This time Bauer ran over to Dexter and got him to run for a little while before Dexter got distracted by some of the plants and stopped playing to smell them.

Ranger and Tanner are both so adorable and such a pleasure to have with me outside in the yard. Tanner is always so cuddly with me even while were outside and always runs up and pushes his head through my legs so I’m standing over him so I will pet his back for him as he wiggles between me.  Ranger can be such a cuddle bug as well, but he usually waits for me to approach him first. He loves to explore and that’s what Ranger did all day today while he was outside. This boy walked along the fence to sniff around as he started right at the door and walked along it until he was about in the middle of the yard then wandered around the grass for a big to switch it up. Whenever a dog would pass him he would stop to give them a sniff and say hello before continuing. As I was petting Tanner on the ground in the yard, he was giving me so many kisses which was attracting the company of everyone else who seemed to want some cuddles as well. Of course Ranger looked over and noticed all the love and couldn’t wait one moment to get some for himself. He ran over with such a smile on his face as his tongue hung out and pushed his nose against my arm for me to pet his head. I brought him in and gave him a big hug as I pet him on my lap with Tanner. After that Tanner seemed to be getting a little playful and jumped back and began to play boy at each dog that passed him. He bounced around them and each time he would just he would let out a bark to let them know who wanted to play, and it was him. Ranger seemed to be tired at this point from all the heat and made his way over to the pool slowly and stepped in to relax and cool off. He moved around in the water for a while before all of the others started walking over and he noticed so he jumped back out.
