Cats:

Ziggy was happily curled up in the cat tree this morning when I went to go see everyone. He stayed their content as I cleaned everyone’s suite, once I started feeding he made his way out of the cubby with a big stretch and followed me around looking for his breakfast. I picked him up and placed him in his upper suite to eat. When I came back to the room a few hours later Ziggy was ready to come back out again and snuggle. He gave my hand some head-buts asking for some chin and neck scratches. I then lifted him onto the floor to spend some time with his new friends Bonnie and Archie. They all shared some treats together and a few more cuddles before Ziggy decided it was time to head back to his upper suite for an afternoon snooze.

Groups:

Max and Sadie had a fantastic time at daycare today. When I went to get them for their walk Max was unable to contain his excitement. As soon as I hooked them to their leashes Max made sure to be the first one out the door while Sadie waited back with me. As we made our way through the yard Sadie lifted her nose to the sky, smelling the fresh morning breeze while Max made sure to give the picnic table a thorough sniff as we walked by it. As soon as we made it to the field Max ran for joy, so happy to be in the dewy grass. As Sadie watched her brother, she decided that she too wanted to run, so we went for a run. While we were running along the field Max and Sadie stopped a few times to sniff around in some bushes and some hay but the pair were mainly interested in running through the field. As we got back to the building Max and Sadie seemed a little relieved to get back to their kennel to have a relaxing lay down on their cot. When it was time to go out for their group, Max and Sadie sprung up from their cot, pouncing with excited at seeing all their pals. As we got out the door Max started running laps around the yard as Sadie said hi to all of their pals. After sniffing everyone down Sadie decided she would investigate a very interesting hole in the yard, only to be joined by Rosie who decided it needed to be dug some more. As Max watched Sadie socializing with their pals he decided it was time for him to go say hello to everyone too. As he made his way over he caught eye of Cai and quickly decided to chase him around the yard first. As the group was coming to an end Max and Sadie spent the rest of their time sniffing around with their pals and watching Rosie chase Tsavo around the yard.

Tsavo and Cai had a very action packed day with us today. As I made my way to get them for their walk, Tsavo let out a few woofs to let me know that she was indeed ready to get going. While I was hooking them up to their leashes Cai made sure to give me a few kisses while I leaned over him to hook his sister up. As we made our way through the yards a big bone had caught Tsavo’s eye and she made a mental note to chew on it during her group. As for Cai, he was more focused on getting out to the field so that he hop around in the hay. As we got to the field Cai couldn’t have been any happier as his paws ran through the dewy grass. Tsavo ran ahead, excited to check out all the new smells but made sure to check over her shoulder to make sure that her brother was right behind her. As we made our way through the field the pair made sure to stop a few times to sniff through some wild flowers and have a few nibbles of grass. When we got back to the building Cai was happy to be out of the sun as they went back into their kennel. When it was time to go out for their group Tsavo and Cai hopped around excitedly in their kennel as I opened the door for them to come outside. Once they got outside Tsavo laid eyes on her best pal Rosie and the two of them took off like rockets into the far yard Meanwhile, Cai gave everyone a good sniff down before joining his sister and Rosie in a game of chase me. As the two began to slow down Tsavo discovered a very interesting hole in the yard and went on to sniff around in it while Cai sniffed around the yard until it was time to go back inside.

Teddy loves to spend the day today with his best friend Spencer each Thursday. As I went to get them for their walk Teddy ran in circles in his kennel showing off just how excited he was to start off his day. As we made our way through the yard Teddy let out a few woofs to Spencer explaining just how happy he was to be outside. As soon as we got to the field Teddy bolted through the grass as fast as he could, begging me to run with him, so I did. As we ran along the field Teddy made sure to stop a few times to chomp up some grass but he was more focused on running through the hay as fast as he could. When we got back inside Teddy curled up with Spencer in their kennel and had a rest. When it was time to go outside Teddy made sure he was one of the first ones out the door, then he said hello to everyone and gave them a good sniff down. After greeting everyone, Teddy caught eye of the pool and he ran over to take a quick splash around in it while everyone else was chasing around the yard. After sitting back and watching for a few moments, Teddy decided it was his duty to chase his pals around the yard as fast as he could. After chasing everyone around Teddy decided to finish off his group with a relaxing sniff around the yard.

Spencer was so happy to spend the day with his daycare friends once again. As I went to get him for his walk Spencer let out a few woofs to tell me just how excited he was to be here for daycare. After getting outside Spencer made it his mission to sniff around the yard and all through the field. When we got to the field Spencer started out by sniffing around in some hay only to decide that he wanted to roll around in it. After rolling around Spencer spent the rest of his walk Running around the field along side Teddy. As we got back from our walk Spencer decided he would curl up with Teddy and take a little nap before he went outside again. Once it was time to go outside for his group Spencer jumped for joy as soon as he saw me, excited to see all his daycare pals once again. As we made our way out the door, Spencer’s eyes caught the pool and he decided he would take a quick dip before he said hello to all his pals. As he ran over to see all his pals Spencer made sure to sniff everyone thoroughly before moving on to sniff the yard. After sitting back to watch all his pals run around Spencer decided he would sniff around for the rest of his group, so he did.

Percy was filled with pure joy once he got here for daycare today. As I made my way to get Percy for his walk he jumped excitedly as soon as he saw me coming with his leash. As soon as I had him hooked up he ran straight for the door excited to get outside. As we made our way through the yards Percy passed a few pals and let out a few woofs to say hi to them but quickly continued on with his walk. As we got to the field Percy was so happy as he realized that I was running as he ran to catch up to me. After running around in the field Percy decided to slow down a bit so that he could enjoy all the beautiful morning smells. As we got back inside Percy ran into his kennel and as soon as he saw his cots he jumped on it to lie down for a little rest. As soon as it was time to go outside for his group Percy made sure to be one of the frist ones out the door so that he say hi to all his daycare pals. After giving everyone a good sniff, Percy went over to the tunnel to run through it a few times before running around with all his pals in the yard. While he was running around he had noticed that I was filling up the pool and quickly ran over to splash and dig around in it for a bit. After spending some time in the pool Percy decided to spend the rest of his group sniffing around through the yard as all his pals chased one another.

Issy and Mocha spent their day in the kitchen today, which they were more than happy about. As I went to get them for their walk the girls jumped around the kitchen excited to be going out for a walk through the field. As we made our way through the yards, Issy made sure to sniff around in the grass before heading for the field while Mocha lazily followed behind her. While walking through the field the girls caught eye of a snake slithering through the field and the stood back and watched as it passed by us, as soon as it was out of sight the girls continued on with their walk. As we made our way to the end of their walk Issy and Mocha followed slowly beside me happy to be getting back inside. As we got back to the kitchen Issy and Mocha decided that they would curl up together until it was time to go back outside again. Once it was time for their group, Issy and Mocha shot right out of their beds excited to get to see all of their daycare pals once again. After getting out the door Mocha made sure to say hello to everyone and give them a good sniff while Issy headed straight for the yard. As Issy sniffed around the yard Mocha caught eye of the pool and decided to go give it a few sniffs, although she didn’t go in I could tell she was definitely thinking about it. As Mocha watched all her pals chase around the yard she decided to go see what her sister was up to, with luck, Mocha discovered that Issy wanted to play with her and the girls ran around the yard a few times before deciding to spent the rest of their group sniffing around the yard.

Jemma was more than happy to spend her the day with us here today. As I went to get her for her walk, Jemma jumped for joy as she saw the leashes that were in my hand. She couldn’t wait to get out for her walk with her favourite pals. As we made our way through the yards Jemma pounced around excited to get to the field where the fun would really begin. As we got to the field Jemma bolted as she saw that I was running beside her, excited to smell all the beautiful smells that the morning dew had brought. As we made our way through the field Jemma made sure to stop a few times to sniff through some bushes but she was too focused on running around. As we got back to the building Jemma was more than happy to get back to her kennel for a little rest. As soon as it was time to get out for her group, Jemma jumped for joy at the door and made sure she was the first once to run out. After saying hi to all of her pals, Jemma inticed Percy and Teddy to a game of chase me around the yard. As Jemma chased her friends around the yard she caught sight of the pool and ran over to jump in it. As she stood there palying in the pool the boys decided to come in to join her and the three of them splashed around with each other. Jemma spent the rest of her group playing around with her best buddies, in the pool and around the yard.

Bandit was super excited to go outside with his group this morning. As he walked out into the yard with all of his friends he began to look around and observe everyone at first. He stood by the door and watched everyone run out into the further yard as he soon followed behind them. He made his way up the grass until he reached the picnic table and he started to sniff around it as he seemed curious. As he was smelling it some of the other dogs came over to check it out as well. They jumped up on top of it and started to paw at Bandit to try and get him to play. Bandit wasn’t in that playful of a mood and after he was finished smelling the table he trotted away. He walked over to another group of dogs and greeted them and said hello. He stayed near them for a while as he continued to ponder around in circles. I think he liked their company. As I started to walk away Bandit noticed me leaving and started to follow me. He started to get a little playful with me all of a sudden as he was bouncing around my legs.

Bogart is such an energetic little boy. He loves to prance around all of the dogs outside to get them excited and try to get them to play with him as well. When he walked out this morning he barely made it three feet before Jock, one of our daycare dogs, ran over to him to say hi. Jock usually prefers to explore around the yard with his sister, Abbie, but today Jock was feeling particularly social,  especially with Bogart. Jock ran over to Bogart who was dancing around my feet in circles and started to jump up and paw him playfully. Bogart jumped up and turned around immediately to see who it was, when he noticed it was Jock Bogart began to sniff him to say hello. After that, these two started running up and down the gravel while jumping all over each other playfully. At the same time they were playing with each other Bogart was also trying to see the other dogs and kept running off and going to greet someone, then running back to Jock right after. As Bogart was running over and getting them excited, he went back to see Jock and some of the dogs began to follow him and wanted to play with them as well. Bogart loved this idea and started to run around with them as well but the only dog Jock had his eyes on to play with was Bogart. He did say hello to the other dogs but always found himself back by Bogart's side. I tried to get Abby to come over to us in the grass yard to play with us but she didn’t seem to be interested and kept on following her nose. Abbie left Jock to do the playing and decided to stick to the more quiet dogs and hang around the door instead. She wandered around the gravel with one of the other dogs and started to sniff along the fence. She loved to sniff the plants that were sticking through the cracks and kept on rubbing her pace against them. I walked over to her to pet her and she stood there as happy as ever, she loved to get a good cuddle in much more then to run around with the other dogs. When I walked back over to everyone else I saw Abby quickly lift her head up off the ground and trot over to follow me. She stopped when she reached around half way in the yard and started to sniff around the grass there on her own while still watching the other dogs and I. When we all started to walk back she ran back towards the door to sit before going back inside.

Maya and Rocky are both such sweet dogs. They came in this morning and after their first outing in the yard with their group they both came up to the front to get a little pedicure. Maya was extremely well behaved and sat like a princess as she was getting her nails done, while Rocky was much happier being held in Katie's arms. During groups outside it was a super hot day, which meant Maya wasn’t in the mood to do as much playing, and more exploring. This didn’t mean she wasn’t being social with the other dogs though, this girl still walked up to all of the others in her group to say hi. At one point she and another dog were getting along so well and started to cuddle up with each other. She gave them kisses and they returned her kisses with more. Meanwhile, Rocky hung around the door area with the more quiet dogs. All of the other dogs always seem to be a little interested in Rocky since he always plays it cool and hangs out in the shade. So whenever all of the dogs are outside, Rocky always ends up with a few visitors where he relaxes as they come over to say hello. He sat there in the sun as if he was trying to get a tan and said hi back to them. I walked over to Rocky right after and started to pet him. I got him to lay on his side as I rubbed his belly, which he really enjoyed.

Austin likes to take his time to watch the other dogs in the hallway before leaving his kennel for group time. Keegan, on the other hand, is quick to run out into the hall and greet his friends. Austin was a little unsure about coming out of his kennel this morning when I opened up the door to the yard until Keegan walked right his kennel with him. He started to jump around Austin, which got him excited to run right out of his kennel to be with more friends. It seems every day Austin comes out of his shell more and more! Today while these two were outside with their group, they started to roam around the yard on their own to explore. Keegan took off to go and explore around the grass area while Austin stayed close by the door and trotted around the gravel with his nose glued to it. As he smelled everything, I realized I had a few treats hidden in my pocket and I brought them out to see if they wanted some. Once I pulled them out Keegan ran over to me right away to try and get them all first! He sure loves his snacks, this little one. Keegan sat pretty for me as I gave him one then called Austin over to let him have a treat as well. Austin was unsure if he wanted it at first and sniffed it for a good while as he was trying to decide. Eventually this boy decided after all that sniffing to give it a try. He ate it and decided that it was okay, but he didn’t want another. Keegan ran over to him after I handed out the treats and started to sniff behind him. He followed Austin all around the yard as he was trying to smell him. This made Austin run around in circles for a while before going back over to the door to sit in the shade.

Extra Attention

Keegan was such a happy little boy during his extra attention session. He came into the playroom with me and ran right over to the couch to hop up onto it and take a seat. I sat beside him as he started to sniff all the cushions. He could definitely smell the other dogs that have been using this couch before. I picked up a toy rope that was next to me and waved it in his face to see if he’d like to play with it. I threw the toy once he had his eyes on it to see if he’d chase it but he opted for some quality time to hang out, instead. Keegan would much rather just get lots of cuddles on the couch with me, and today was no exception.

Bandit was very eager to come up to the front with me while I took him out for his extra attention. He joined me in the play room and right as he got in there he began to sniff around the room to check things out. As he was exploring he couldn’t stop wiggling his body around with excitement. I called him over and he wiggled to me with a great big smile on his face. I started to brush him as he moved from one side of me to the other. This didn't want to sit still for a second! After I was done brushing him I decided to just give him some cuddles since it seemed like he liked those. He curled his body around as I was petting his back to give me kisses as well. After he wandered off again he found a leash that was hanging off the ledge and jumped to grab it then shook it around in his mouth playfully. I grabbed a rope toy instead for him to play with and he was happy to take that instead.

Bogart hopped up on his little back feet when I came to get him for his extra attention time. He ran so fast down the hallway that his little fluffy ears flapped up and down. We went into the playroom today for a bit of a change of scenery. He sprinted around the room once before slowing down to have a look at his surroundings. Bogart stood up at the window sill to see what was going on outside. I scooped him up and we watched the other dogs and Alyssa for a few minutes before he wanted to investigate some more. Bogart stood up to get a better look at the door, sniffed some toys and finally decided that the couch was the place to be. We sat together for a while and Bogart really enjoyed having his ears and back petted. He's such a sweet little guy!
