Bauer had such a fun day today! He started his day off with a nice walk in the field, sniffing through the grass and wild flowers and stopping once to roll around in some hay. Bauer was very excited for groups today; as soon as he got outside he was set on a mission, to sniff the whole yard. After sniffing around, Bauer went over to check out the pool, although he didn’t wade through it he was definitely thinking about it. After sniffing around the pool for a little longer Bauer decided to chase some friends around the yard. However, after chasing his friends around the yard he decided to sniff around some more until it was time to go back inside. For Bauer’s extra attention we spent some time in reception cuddling and giving kisses. As soon as we got up to reception Bauer went straight to sniffing around and seeing what toys we have in the toy bin. Once he was done looking around Bauer laid down for a nice long belly rub and a few yummy treats. Bauer loves the treats we have in the cookie jar; he would sit, lie down and give a paw for a treat. After giving him some more treats Bauer decided to climb up on my lap in the big chair and lay down for some cuddles. After getting all his cuddles Bauer and I played with his favourite toy snake and a tennis ball. Finally we finished off his extra attention with a few more treats and some ear scratches.

Issy and Mocha spend the day in the staff room today with their pals Merida and Kimi. They loved having someone else to spend the day with. On their walk this morning the girls decided to stay relaxed and stress free throughout the whole walk, although Issy made such to snatch up some wild flowers throughout the walk. When it was time for them to go out with their group, Mocha made sure she was first out the door. After chasing each other around the yard a few times the girls parted ways. Issy decided she would chase some of her pals around the yard while Mocha decided she would give the pool a thorough inspecting, however, she did not go into the pool. After spending some time apart the girls quickly ran back to each other to sit underneath the sunshade for the rest of their group.

Kimi spent the day in the staff room today, which she took full advantage of. She made herself a bed and napped for most of the day. When it was time for Kimi to go outside she bolted straight for the door. As soon as she got outside she chased her group around the yard a few times but she quickly decided it was simply to hot out for her to be running around the whole group, so she went over to the fence to sniff around for a bit. After sniffing around Kimi went over to the pool to watch her group run through it and splash around. She looked as if she was debating if she should jump in too but sadly she didn’t. She spent the rest of her group watching the others race around the yard.

Bella had a terrific day today. She started the day off by going for a nice walk in the field. She loved sniffing around in the grass and stopping a few times to roll around and thoroughly inspect some flowers. After her walk, Bella took a nap to rest up for her groups today. When it was time for her group to go outside Bella was super excited! As soon as she got out the door she started chasing her group around the yard, stopping briefly to snatch up dome grass. After slowing down a bit Bella decided to go waddle around in the pool until it was time to go back inside. Bella is quite the sniffer dog! She was completely focused on figuring out all the scents in the lounge and looked like she thoroughly enjoyed every second of her work. She played with a water bottle and did gave me some kisses on the couch, but what she really wanted was to keep investigating. I gave her a few more minutes and then we moved into the reception area, where Julie was waiting. Bella absoultely loves it when Julie chases her in her wheelchair and they went around and around the open area. You could see that Bella got a real thrill out of their game. She also snuck some really thorough sniffs of Julie's wheelchair, apparently quite fascinated. She then had a cuddle and lick session with Kinsey before getting some yummy treats.
Casey enjoyed the first day of his stay. He was so excited for his walk this morning. As soon as we hit the trail he had his nose to the ground to smell all the new scents in the field. He loved rolling around in the hay and snatching up some grass along the way. As soon as group time rolled around Casey was so eager to get outside and run around with all of his long lot pals. As soon as I opened the door he did just that, he was so happy to chase his group around the yard and get all of his energy out. After he slowed down, Casey spent the rest of the group sniffing around in the grass and trying out the pool. During his afternoon outing, Casey was happy to stand by my side and get lots of cuddles and attention. Once he had had his fill he went to see his friend, Pippin. Casey absolutely loved Pippin and bounced around her until it was time to head in!

Teddy was very happy to be here for daycare today. He started his day off with a nice walk through the field, sniffing around and playing with his buddies. Once it was time for him to go outside with his group, Teddy heading straight for the pool. He couldn’t wait to get in and splash around as he watched his group race around the yard. Once he was done in the pool, Teddy chased his group around the yard for a bit but eventually he got tired and decided to sit back and watch his friends while he sniffed around the yard. After catching his breath for a few minutes he went back to chasing his group around the yard until it was time to go back inside.

Walker had a great day at daycare today. He started off going for a walk around the field, stopping a few times to sniff around in the tall grass. When it was his groups’ turn to go outside he was super excited to get outside and play. As soon as he got outside he got down to the business of inspecting the yard while contemplating what to do next while he had a few nibbles of grass. Once he had was done sniffing around he went to chase his group around the yard for a few minutes, however eventually he got tired and slowed down a bit. For the rest of his group he waddled around in the pool and watched his group race around the yard.

Bruno was a big ball of fun today. When he went outside with his group this morning he had so much energy just built up inside of him that he couldn’t wait to let out in the yard. As soon as I joined everyone outside Bruno ran right up to me and started to greet me by jumping up on my legs. I made it easier for him and bent down so he could give me some kisses before he ran off with the other dogs. I walked into the further yard and all of the dogs that were sniffing around decided to follow me, including Bruno. He was the first one in there and began to run around the grass with one of the dogs right away. He chased her all around the yard a bunch of times in circles during their game of tag, by the time they stopped running Bruno was so out of breath and all he could go for was some water to drink. He headed over to the pool that just started filling up and took a couple slurps off the hose and he was good to go again. He ran around a bit more before heading over to the shade to do some exploring of his own. He paced around until I walked over and he was all over me again. He stayed by my side until it was time to go back in.  What a good and patient boy Bruno was today. I had just brought him up to the front on his harness and leash - we were going to head over to the lounge and then have a sniff around outside - when a visitor arrived. I sat in the chair and we chatted for several minutes while Bruno sat quietly and patiently waiting. When our visitor had left it was time to have some fun and thank Bruno for his patience. He got tons of pets and one-on-one time and then went crazy when it was Kinsey's turn to give him some love. I think he's quite a flirt, little Bruno! He was giving kisses and sprawling in her lap, absolutely eating up all the hugs and affection as well as some delicious treats I had in my pocket.
Maya and Rocky came in with so much energy today. Well mostly Maya, so I was expecting her to be super playful outside during her group. Yet, when they went out for their group in the morning Maya decided to take it easy instead. I’m assuming she used up all of her energy during her walk, which wore her out so much that when it was time to go out for group, she had a nice rest. Rocky trotted out the door and went to his regular spot along the fence. It was so hot outside that Rocky didn’t feel like touring around the yard to explore today and instead he found a nice spot in the sun to relax and lay there to watch all of the other dogs. Maya walked out the door and said hi to a few of her friends in the yard, she was really excited to see everyone and began to bounce around them for a moment then stopped to go and explore. She wandered around the gravel yard with her nose to the ground as she sniffed as much as she could. I called her over to me as I was in the further yard with all of the more playful dogs but instead of running over to come and join in she kept her distance and watched over in the shade instead. I wasn’t surprised though, she just wanted to stay out of the sun. After she was done wandering around she walked back over to Rocky to say hi. She stayed with him by the door to keep him company as she reached down to touch noses with him. They’re so cute together.

Max and Sadie were so pleasant today out in the yard during their group time. They both walked out the door and seemed to be calmer than they usually are when they first walk outside and are greeted by all of the other dogs. Sadie stayed in her place as she let all of her friends come over and give her a sniff while Max wasn’t even interested in the others right away and ran as fast as he could over to the further yard to start sniffing around on his own. Once Max walked around the grass for a while to do his business he started to get playful and more energetic. He ran back into the gravel yard and hopped right on top of Sadie’s back to try and get her to come and play with him. Sadie was not backing down and chased him all the way into the other yard to start a game of tag. They ran around in circles for a little bit when Max broke the circle and ran over to the pool. Sadie gave up on the running and needed a break so she decided to take it slow and trot along the fence to start exploring instead. She seemed to be done playing after that as she stuck to herself and wandered around the yard with her nose to the ground, while Max was just getting started. He began to play again with some of the other dogs, including Percy and Cai. They loved to chase him because he can go so fast and barely ever stops! As they were wrestling and running around the yard with each other Sadie decided to walk over to the hole and start to dig in it again. She always leaves time to dig in her hole whenever she goes outside. But just when I though she was done playing, Max ran back over to her and all of a sudden jumped up on her back to start wrestling around in the grass with her. Sadie was trying her hardest to get on top of him but he’s way too strong for her and when she finally got up she bolted to the other side of the yard where they began to play tag again.

Tsavo and Cai are both the sweetest dogs around. They can be a little crazy in their kennel but once they’re outside with all of their dog friends they calm down, well, a little bit. Cai loves to play and socialize with the other dogs whenever he’s in the yard, today when he first walked outside he ran straight over to Max who he seemed to be really interested in. At first he walked around him in circles but then he couldn’t hold back his playfulness any longer and started to jump up on his back to try and start a game. Max couldn’t say no and play bowed down toward him and in a flash he took off to the other side of the yard running as he started a game of tag. Cai ran after him; he likes to wrestle around the grass with another dog or play with a toy. Tsavo, on the other hand loves to run after dogs. Today Tsavo walked over to me as soon as I got out the door to come and say hi to me. She brushed her head against my legs and gave my hand lots of kisses as the others were busy starting to play. She started walking around and exploring after she came up to me and stuck on her own as she wandered around the yard. Tsavo kept lifting her head as she was walking around to watch all of the others play. It wasn’t until I decided to get her to join in with Cai and the rest of them that she really began to pay. I ran around her in circles to try and get her playful and it worked, as soon as she was trying to catch me I ran over to all of the other dogs so they began to chase me and Tsavo joined right in. Eventually I stopped running and Tsavo chased all the others around the yard while Cai tried to wrestle with everyone.

Percy and Spencer had such a nice day outside today during their groups. They were both so enthusiastic about being outside that as soon as they walked out the door they began to bounce around. Spencer was running from dog to dog to say hello while Percy said hi to everyone in his own way, barking. Percy loves to run around all of the dogs and let everyone hear his voice. It’s probably one of his favorite things to do outside. He does it until someone starts to run so he can chase the other dogs around the yard and play tag. Thankfully the dogs started running into the further yard almost right away as Percy chased after them at full speed with his tongue hanging right out. Spencer stopped running once he reached the other yard, he decided to take it easy for a bit and sniff along the fence to smell all of the plants and grass instead. He walked up and down all of the fences until he reached the pool and decided to take a quick nap. He made himself a comfy spot in the corner against the wall and laid there between that and the pool. It was a good idea until Percy, who loves the water, ran right over and jumped in making a huge splash. Spencer didn’t get up right then though, it wasn’t until Percy thought it would be a good idea to start digging in the pool which made all of the water go everywhere, and all over Spencer! As he got up he seemed to be rested enough to start playing again, once the second game of tag came into play Spencer was right in the middle of all of the action as Percy headed over to join in since he was still in the water. The two of them ran around the yard with the biggest smiles on their faces until it was time to go back inside to rest, I think they needed it.
