Extra Attention
Today for Bauer’s extra attention he got to come up front to hang out. He spent some time being petted and fawned over by three of us and when the others had to go back to work he was content with just me. Bauer eventually decided to go and tour around the room and see what was going on. He discovered the toy box but decided that pets and attention were better. Bauer came over and nudged my arm so it would be on his head and demanded all the loving. He then planted himself on my feet so I couldn’t leave.
Bella couldn't wait to head out for her extra attention time. She went racing down the hall until we came to the front room. We hung out for a bit in there. Bella was quite happy to go exploring and checked everything out. She was also quite happy about all the pats she was receiving. I grabbed some treats so we could do a little work. Bella was quick to sit and down. We then headed outside to play a game of find the treats in the grass which she had blast doing.

Bruno was so excited to come and join me for his extra attention this morning. He ran up and down the hall as fast as he could with a huge smile on his face. As I led him into the playroom with me he walked through the door and paced around since he didn’t even know where to begin or what to do. I tried to interest him in a few toys by waving them in front of him and throwing them across the room but he didn’t seem to want to play with them; instead, he would much rather chase me around the room and try and catch me. It was never a problem for this little speedy guy but he loved to do it anyways and jump up and tackle me with lots of kisses whenever he was done. Bruno and I had some nice quality time together as I laid on the couch and he laid on top of me for cuddles.
Groups
Max and Sadie were as excited as ever to head out for group time. They went charging out the door and immediately met up with the rest of the group to say hi and see what everyone was up to. That done Max and Sadie made their way out to the far yard with the rest of the group. It looked like they were about to go racing off, but Sadie was distracted by something in the grass and stopped to check it out. Magic, Rosie and Koda all went over to see what she was looking at. Max gave in to the peer pressure and went to see what they were looking at. He then decided to tag along with Sadie and she went to check out more of the yard. Max then split off to go and do some exploring of his own. Magic and Rosie took off racing around the yard and Max couldn’t not join in. Sadie took a break from her exploring to watch her brothers antics and eventually decided to go racing around with them. It wasn’t long before everyone was too warm to keep running. Max and Sadie headed out to do a little more exploring together before Max headed for the picnic table and the shade.
Adele was so happy to get outside for group time. She came bouncing over to me to say hi and get some pets. That done Adele set out to explore around the yard. She was distracted from her explorations when some of the rest of the group started racing around the yard. Adele stood and watched their antics for a bit before continuing checking things out. Once she had gone all around the yard and there was nothing left to look at Adele decided it was time to join the others. She’s so fun to watch play leaping and bouncing around.
Issy and Mocha were the first to make their way out to the agility yard. They were quick to head to the centre of the yard and start checking things out. When Bauer made it into the yard he went over and joined them; neither seemed to mind. Issy and Mocha then decided to split up to check out different parts of the yard. Issy was all about checking in the short grass while Mocha made her way over to the longer grass and flowers by the fence. Issy noticed Bauer just hanging out and decided to make her way over to join him. With her height she ended up under his tail, which I think she kind of enjoyed as shade for a moment. Issy moved on to rejoin Mocha over by the fence. They spent some more time exploring together. It wasn’t long before Bauer joined them once more. Mocha decided she was done with exploring and made her way out to the main yard to hang out by the door and sunbathe. Issy headed out and did some more exploring with Bauer. She then left Bauer and toured around the yard by herself for a while until Percy splashing around in the pool caught her attention. Issy was a little too close and got a face full of water which she was thrilled about. She headed out to do some more exploring and she was joined by Bauer. I left them to go have a visit with Mocha who was still enjoying roasting herself in the sunshine.
Bauer made his way out to the agility yard and after taking a look around decided to go and check on what Issy and Mocha were looking at. He seemed pretty happy to just hang out with them for a while. When they split up to check out different parts of the yard Bauer headed out to do his own thing as well. He wasn’t alone long as Issy made her way over to join him. At one point she ended up under his tail which was pretty adorable. Bauer headed out to check out more of the yard, stopping to check in with Issy every now and then. He later met up with Percy and spent some time with him. Bauer then decided it was time for some human interaction and made his way over to me for some pets and attention. His attention was then captured by Percy splashing around in the pool. Bauer stood contemplating the pool, but eventually decided to just stop at a drink and not actually get in. Noticing Issy, he headed over to join her once more.
Percy went tearing out to the agility yard and did a quick lap. That done he beelined it right for the pool and dived in. Percy wasted no time in start to dig and splash around. That out of the way he headed out to do a little bit more thorough tour of the yard. Percy ended up over by the fence behind the tunnel sampling some of the greenery growing there. When he finished with that section he moved onto more of the yard. As Percy was touring he was joined by Bauer who was curious about what he was looking at. They didn’t stay together long as Percy went trotting off around the yard once more. Shortly after that Percy was on his way back to the pool that was now occupied by Taylor. He didn’t seem to mind the company and was happy to splash around once more. They actually ended up hitting it off quite well and were soon off to play in the tunnel and race around.
Bella had such a fun day outside today, she was as ready as ever when she walked out the door and began to say hi to all of the other dogs in her group. As she started to sniff everyone, one of the dogs, Merida, seemed to have a sudden interest in Bella and ran right over and pounced on her back playfully. Bella loved how enthusiastic she was being with her and she showed the same type of excitement right back as she started to bounce around her and play. After their little play session around the yard with each other Bella decided to go run over to the pool since the heat was tiring her out so much. She jumped right in as two other dogs were in it already and splashed the water all over them. She loved laying down in the water so her whole body would get wet then running back out and shaking off all over me. When I was sitting on top of the agility tunnel Bella decided to come over to say hi to me but felt a little left out as I was sitting and she was on the ground, so she jumped up on top of the tunnel and tried to balance herself as she stood tall and tried to give me kisses at the same time. Once I got up a second later she quickly jumped back down as the tunnel wasn’t sturdy enough for her to stand there. After that she ran back over to play with Merida, and this time the other dogs joined in as well. Bella ran as fast as she could as she got a burst of energy and ran from one side of the yard to the other as all of the dogs chased her.
Xena had a slow day today. Sometimes she can be very playful with me and her two brothers but today she seemed to be more relaxed and kept it that way as she walked out into the yard with me. She started to tour around the agility yard and kept her nose close to the ground as she started to sniff along the ground. This girl loves to explore and had her face buried in the tall grass as she walked through it to look for interesting things that are hidden away. As one of her brothers jumped in the pool you could see Xena lift up her head right away and as soon as she heard the splash, she rushed over and began to sniff around the pool before letting her nose touch the water to see if she wanted to go in. She carefully put one paw in before deciding she wasn’t ready to get all wet and backed away, Xena trotted all the way over to me where she rubbed her head against my leg for me to cuddle her. I kneeled down and gave her lots of kisses as the others were jumping all over her wanting to play.
Keegan and Dugan are so energetic! Whenever they go outside it’s hard for them not to get so wound up with excitement as all of the others walk out the door to join them in the yard. They began to run around in circles, stopping to smell each dog for a second. Even when they sniff another dog they can’t settle down long enough to stand still and are walking on the spot or circling around them. When I came outside Keegan seemed to calm down a little more as Dugan was just as energetic as ever. Dugan ran over to me and started to jump up on my legs to say hi and try and give me kisses. I couldn’t understand why he was giving me so much attention until I realized that I had some treats in my pocket that he was smelling. After I got rid of the treats he went back to his normal self and he and Keegan took off to the further grass yard to begin exploring. Keegan was sniffing around the yard and came up to a big hole that’s been dug in the ground, Hseemed so interested in it and after circling around it for quite some time he finally decided to start digging in it, but the hole was so deep that as he was digging his entire body fit inside and all I saw was dirt flying up from the ground.
Bruno and Miko are such funny boys, they are both so silly and are very entertaining to watch while they’re outside during the day. As they walked out the door with their group this morning, Miko wasted no time as he ran off into the further grass yard on his own to start his day, while all Bruno cared about was me. He followed me around the entire yard at first and kept on jumping up until I would pick him up or rub his belly. He loved when I rubbed his belly but it was so difficult since he never wanted to lay down and was always moving, but once he got in the right position and I started petting him he never wanted me to stop! I walked over towards Miko as he was wandering around the yard and every time I got a little close to him he would jump back into a stance and stare at me until I took another step, then he would bolt to the other side of the yard so he’d be further away from me. Miko loves playing tag and loves to tease me whenever we're in the yard together. This is a little game he also loves to play when it’s time to go inside. If he has a choice in the matter, Miko only comes back inside when he wants to. He was being a very good boy today, though. After he wandered around the yard and explored he decided to burn some energy by running around the yard doing some laps on his own. The others watched him carefully but didn’t run up to join in. Miko was running like the speed of light with his tongue hanging out as the wind blew against his face. He ran right over the hole in the ground and stopped immediately then turned back around to see the hole again. He started to sniff it as Bruno and I sat up on the picnic table together, and it didn’t take too before he began to start to dig in it as well. He dug so fast that he was out of breath in the process and ran over by the door to sit in the shade and relax before we went back inside. Bruno decided to walk over towards the pool first before going to see everyone else by the door. He jumped in the water then quickly regretted it as he jumped out half a second later and shook off to try and get dry again.
