Cats
Archie and Ferdinand came in this morning and were a little
shy when they first went into their suites. I came in to visit them not too
long after and let them roam around the room. Archie was in the middle of a nap
when I woke him up. I picked him up and gave him a cuddle before I put him on
the ground to explore the room. When Ferdinand came out of his suite he seemed
a little more eager than Archie was to be wandering around. Archie sniffed
along the suites and said hi to the other cats that were there. He seemed to be
a little timid once they got up to say hi back and he turned around and walked in the other
direction. Ferdinand wasn’t shy at all and kept on walking over to the
other cats to sniff them. After he said hi to the cats he walked over to me and
rubbed his face against my leg. I gave him lots of pets as he continued to do
this. Archie walked over to me to be pet more as well. After he got all the
cuddles he wanted he walked over to one of the beds in the suites and jumped up
to lay down in it. He layed down and watched Ferdinand as he walked over to the
cat tree and jumped up to sit in one of the holes. Ferdinand popped his head up
through the top of where he was sitting and started to look around more before
jumping off of the cat tree again to go back in his suite.
Groups
Austin and I started our time together this
morning when I took him for a walk on the trails with some of his friends. He
pranced around happily through the tall grass taking time to smell all the cool
things that came across his path. He enjoyed the warmth on his back as he and
his friends walked side by side on the trail. Once we got back to the kennel he
took a little nap before I came to get him for the second time today so that he
could go out for group time. He started his time outside by going exploring
through the yard to see if there were any new things that would be fun to look
at. He set off with his nose to the ground wandering in zig zag patterns
through the yard. On his search he met some of his friends who were also
exploring so he joined up with them for a little while so that he would have
some company. After all his searching he came over to see me on the picnic table for some cuddles. He had a lot
of fun today especially on his walk where he saw a bunch of cool things and
loved all the cuddles he got later on.
Abby and Jock came running down the hallway
this morning right up to me so I bent down and gave each of them a good scratch
before leading them to their room for the day. I saw them again not long after
that when I had the pleasure of taking them for a walk. Jock couldn’t wait
because he was so excited to go out and smell all the cool things outside
today. Abby followed closely behind her brother trying to see as much as she
could before he ran off to another thing. The trails were full of wonderful
smells and Jock wanted to investigate them all so every couple of minutes he’d
stop to get a better look at something. Abby was having lots of fun running
after her brother and also enjoyed just wandering around lazily in the sun.
After walks it was time to go outside for more outdoor fun and with a lot more
friends to enjoy it with. Abby wandered around aimlessly the when we first outside, just enjoying another warm summer day. Jock started playing with one of
his friends for a little while before growing tired and leaving the game to
meet up with his sister. I ran aroun in the grassy yard to encourage the little guys to play, and Jock came running over right away, with Abbie following close behind. Abbie did a couple of jumps over the agility jump and Jock started to play with his friend, Chase. They both had a wonderful day today and loved all the
time they got to spend outside with each other and their friends.
Lola has been enjoying her time with her
siblings, especially this morning when they were all running around in their
kennel, jumping on top of each other and wrestling. She would run from her
brothers only to be intercepted by Vega who would tackle her before running off
again. Bouncing right back up, Lola would chase down Vega and once she caught up
she would tackle her for payback. The fun continued during group time today
when some of the other dogs came and joined in on the play. Lola was so excited
that she ran around the yard and under the wheelbarrow, which has now turned
into a puppy jungle gym. After all the running around she finally started to
get tired so she went over to sit by the door where she met up with Julie.
Julie was quite excited to see her so Lola decided it would be fun to play with
her until it was time to go inside. During afternoon groups, Lola spent most of her time playing tug with her siblings with a rope toy. At one point, Lola, Vega, Doug and Joe each had a grip on the rope and they were pulling each other around in a pile. She had lots of fun today with all of her
friends and was looking forward to a nice nap after groups.
Bella and Jake came in this morning with
lots of energy and Bella couldn’t help but voice her excitement by wagging her
tail and barking the whole way to her kennel. Jake was a little calmer and just
came running down the hall with his tail thumping back and forth. They were
even more excited this morning when I showed up at their kennel with leashes in
my hand, which meant we would be going on a walk together. Bella bounced up and
down in anticipation while Jake ran around in circles behind her. Once they were
hooked up it was time to hit the trails and get the day started. Jake flew out
onto the path with his nose on the ground trying to take in all the smells as
he ran by. Bella pranced along happily behind him with her nose up smelling the
breeze as it blew through her fur. They both had fun on their walk and were
excited for more outside time. Finally group time came and they got to go
outside once again into the summer sun. Bella went around smelling and greeting
all the other dogs just deciding to have a lazy day today. Jake went exploring
today with some of his friends and every now and then would either come visit
me or go play with some of the others. They both enjoyed their time outside and
Jake loved the cuddles he got between explorations while Bella had a wonderful
time basking in the sun.
Tucker came outside with his group today with a fresh new groom. It was hard to keep this boy super clean with the amount of playing he was doing since he had so much energy while he was outside in the yard. He wasn’t the only one with loads of energy though; Kaos came in today for daycare and was extra excited to be outside with everyone. Right as she walked out the door to greet all of the dogs in her group she began to play. Tucker noticed her right away and walked over to introduce himself. Kaos loved Tucker’s energy and the two began to jump up on to each other’s backs. Kaos stopped wrestling around with Tucker after a few minutes and started to run across the yard to go and see the other dogs. Tucker wasn’t done playing with her though and chased after her as fast as he could to catch up. As Kaos began to play around with the other dogs she ended up starting a game of tag and a bunch of the dogs ran super fast around the agility yard in circles. Kaos was loving all of the attention she was getting from everyone but when Tucker was running all he wanted to do was get to Kaos again to play. Once Kaos stopped running to take a quick break, Tucker caught up and ran over to see her. Kaos was ready to wrestle around with Tucker again as they kept on jumping up on each others backs then jumping back to play bow at each other before they did it again. I called Tucker over to me and he looked at me with a little grin and wiggled his body against mine to be pet. He was so fluffy and soft from his groom. Kaos ran back over to see the other dogs and started to play with some of the others. She watched on the sidelines as some of the other dogs were wrestling and rolling around on the ground. Kaos found it entertaining to randomly pounce into them as they wrestled then run away as fast as he could.
Finnigan and Bella came in for daycare today and were both in great moods. When Bella came out of her kennel she walked over to me almost immediately to greet me and say hello. Meanwhile, Finnigan had no time for that and just wanted to start playing. He whipped out the door and ran into the agility yard ahead of all the other dogs in his group. As he was prancing into the yard he kept looking behind him to see if they were following him. Lucky for him all of the dogs, including Bella, started to chase after him until they reached the other side of the yard. Finnigan began to run around all of the dogs and say hello while Bella took off on her own to do her business around the grass area of the yard. She sniffed along the fence as she was exploring and took her time before she joined back wih everyone else to play. Finnigan started to jump all over some of our bloodhounds to try and get them to play with him and there was no hesitation at all from them. They loved playing with Finnigan as much as he loved to play with them. They were wrestling around the ground roughly as they took turns to who was on top of who. Whenever Finnigan broke free from underneath them he would jump up and run a few feet the other way then run as fast as he could back to them and jump on their backs. Bella ran over to watch them wrestle around. She wasn’t interested in wrestling like that but loved to watch and kept herself very entertained. She walked over to some of the other dogs as they began to play with her. She kept on play bowing towards them as they did the same thing back to her. Once they stopped they began to run around in small circles until Bella caught up and jumped on their backs. After she did that she ran in the other direction and went towards the agility tunnel to run through it. Finnigan needed a break from all the playing and ran towards the pool and jumped right in. Bella chased after him once she realized where he was going and jumped in herself. They two both layed down in the water to get their entire bodies wet as they took a few sips then jumped back out to continue playing.
Sophie is such a sweet girl. She has such a young sould and likes to jump into the action as the other dogs are playing. When she first came out of her kennel this morning she trotted right outside behind her friends. She made her way into the agility yard as she kept her head up high to look around the yard. As she was observing the yard all of the dogs began to rush into the agility yard to start playing and exploring. She watched everyone as they did their own thing and stood in the middle of the yard on her own. I walked right over to her and gave her some cuddles. She placed her head right against my legs as I started to scratch behind her ear. She enjoyed this a lot and didn’t want me to stop petting her at all. Once I began to walk away Sophie decided to do some exploring of her own and walked over to where all of the tall grass was along the fence. She took her time as she walked along the fence and sniffed through all of the grass, she started to dig her nose through it to get deeper to the ground even. Whenever a dog came by and walked passed her Sophie lifted up her head right away and stopped what she was doing. She walked over to them and said hi to greet them. Once they began to play and run around with each other Sophie sat there and watched them for a second before they ran up to Sophie and jumped on her so she would join. This girl started to hop around in circles with excitement and began to chase them as fast as her legs would take her then stopped for a break. She got tired very fast and made her way over to the pool and jumped right in the cold water to cool off. She stood in it for a while since their were no other dogs in it that’s she had to share with.
