After coming in from a beautiful morning trot down the trail, Max and Sadie were ready to head back outside for some more fun in the sun. The two of them excitedly followed close behind me because they noticed I had a treat in hand, of course they were both on their best behavior and patiently sat together in the grass so they could get rewarded. I gave Max the treat first and he curiously held it in his mouth for a while before spitting it back out. Sadie then picked it up and pranced around with it in her mouth for a while before leaving it behind as well; they thought of it more as a toy than a treat! After going back and forth with the treat for a while, Max ran over and found his favorite spot on top of the play structure where he had the perfect view of the yard. He loved being the King of the Castle for once. Meanwhile, Sadie had found the perfect resting spot in the sun and sprawled out on the wooden plank for the rest of the morning.

Bella and Jake certainly had a blast this morning during their outdoor group play surrounded by not one, not two, but six of our adorable Husky puppies! Bella and Jake were the perfect pair to help our new pups to learn some manners and of course how to let loose and be silly! The pups really took a liking to Jake and at first, they literally swarmed him and were jumping up and down to try to reach his face, Jake loved all the attention and his tail was whipping back and forth in excitement. Bella was very curious of the little ones and gently rubbed her nose against their backs to say hello and it was very nurturing! Then Bella was off to explore the far grassy yard; instead of taking her usual sunbathing spot by the door, she was on the move. At this point, Jake had found friends in Ghira and Grace who were rambunctiously chasing one another around the yard. We all know that Jake never misses an opportunity to play!

It was so great to see Willis back for daycare today! He joined a few other small dog friends for his morning trail walk, but took part in a mixed bag of a play group for the rest of the day. Willis greeted all of the other dogs enthusiastically upon entering the yard, and gravitated towards two friends in particular: Barb the Lab puppy and Julie, the dog with the wheelchair. Willis had lots of fun running around with Barb and Julie, among other dogs including Sky the Husky and Charly the Golden. Willis was so full of beans that he even jumped up on top of the agility tunnel while in a race with Barb! He finished his play session for the time being with a little rest time in the shade along the side of the tunnel while he watched the rest of the group run around. Willis was thrilled to head outside once again this afternoon, and was even happier than ever to see the pool out, waiting for him to hop in!

What a fun group we had for our daycare friends today! After their walks, Ammo, Chloe E. and Finnigan flew out into the yard at top speed, ready to race around and play. Their group was comprised of lots of different dogs, all of which had the same happy, playful mentality as they do. Ammo veered off right off the bat when he saw Chloe C., the Boxer, playing with the green ball, while Finnigan and Chloe E., the Bernese mix, went straight into a big game of chase with some of their group-mates. Finnigan spotted Hudson playing with a toy as he sprinted, and broke away from his competitors to try and get his paws on that blue rubber bone. Meanwhile, Chloe E. continued to sprint around the yard, only stopping to partake in brief wrestling matches with almost each and every dog in the group! Chloe E. wrestled with Hudson the Labradoodle, Bruiser the Lab, Ammo the Shepherd, Baxter the doodle, and Ruger the Cattle dog mix! She was quite the social butterfly, but that's no surprise! Ammo was determined to get that ball from Chloe C. for quite a while until he decided to take a break to wrestle with his friends and to take a dip in the pool. Ammo absolutely loved the pool and laid down to fully submerge himself! It was the funniest thing to watch as he dipped his nose under the water and blew bubbles. Chloe and Finnigan each took a turn to visit Ammo and dip their own toes in the water after lots and lots of playing!

Oakley always loves to spend time in the play yard with her Husky friends, and today was no exception. She flitted from Husky to Husky, greeting each friend and wagging her tail all the while. Oakley was particularly happy to see her favourite playmates Justice and Kyah today! She went and nuzzled Justice as soon as she saw him and dropped into a play-bow in front of him. She and Sophie, another Shepherd type mix, were both vying for his attention, though Oakley had more friends to go and visit. She left Sophie and Justice to go and have a little play time with Kyah, who she misses seeing every Wednesday! Kyah was feeling lazy today and had laid down along the side of the agility tunnel to sunbathe. Oakley wasn't having any of that though, and got right down on the ground in front of her and placed her paws on either side of Kyah's, looking her right in the eye. When Leah came outside, Oakley went running over to say hello to her and enjoy some pets, until she saw Kyah get up from her place on the ground. The girls had a sudden burst of energy and Kyah, Vega and Oakley ran like crazy around, through and over the tunnel!
