Annie and Zen were such a playful little duo this morning. When they got outside for their outdoor play group, Annie immediately trotted off to meet a few old as well as some new friends. As soon as she met Haley, the two of them were attached at the hip. The two girls played together in such a funny way. Annie would act like she wasn't paying attention to Haley but then as soon as Haley pounced towards her, Annie would take off in a sprint and circle back to Haley. The two of them would then play bow at one another and continue to pounce around each other. Zen was focused on a few other friends in their group. She wasn't too sure whether she wanted to cuddle up with Leah or go play so she did a bit of both. After getting kisses from Leah, Annie joined her new friends Maddy and Chigo in a mad dash around the yard. Every time they'd run by her, Zen would hop in on the race and then she'd wait for them to circle back towards her. Soon enough, Annie decided she was ready to join in on the game. Annie and Zen both took their turn jumping into the race. After Zen was finished running. She spent some time with her friend Millie. There is such a big difference in size between the two of them but Millie still jumped up and play tackled with Zen, how cute. Annie finished off her group time with a back rub from myself.

Boris and Tasha came in this morning with an amazing amount of energy and were definitely ready to play all day long. Boris trotted outside ahead of all his friends to check out the agility yard as soon as he could. He joined a couple friends in doing a few laps around the yard which is when all the fun began. Tasha quickly joined in on the race, but accidentally bumped into Boris. The two of them ended up in a complete play tackle for the next few minutes which was quite a show to see. Soon enough Vega and Magic were in on the play tackle as well. Boris decided to take a short break in the kiddy pool. He hopped right in and waited for the others to join him. However, since they didn't, he decided to splash around by himself. He did circles upon circles in the pool before I went over to play with him. Within a few seconds, Boris hopped out of the pool and was ready to play once again. This time Boris stopped by to play with his best pal Sammy. The two of them had a blast play fighting with one another for the rest of their group time. Tasha took the opportunity to jump in the pool while it was still empty.

Olive and Finlay were two little bundles of energy all day long. They began their group with a burst of speed as the two of them went flying into the yard. By the time I looked over, Olive and Finlay were already play tackling and rolling around the yard in one big ball. They were completely inseparable for their entire group time today from that point on. After they had finished play tackling, the two of them joined me on top of the picnic table for a bit of a rest. However once they were up and moving again. I decided to get them to show me their tricks. I had Finlay jump over the agility jump with ease but Olive wasn't so sure. After some encouragement from Finlay and myself, Olive did an excellent job of jumping over. She cleared it with no problem and decided to show it off time after time. The little duo was more than ready to join me up front for their extra attention time this afternoon. Olive took the lead as they followed me down the hallway. Of course before they could start to do anything, Finlay needed to sniff the entire room as he checked for treats. Lucky for him, Katie had the treat ball all set up and ready to play with. As soon as his nose caught a whiff of the liver treats inside the ball, he couldn't get enough of it. Finlay kicked the ball around the room many times and waited for the treats to come flying out. Olive was a bit preoccupied with cuddles. She had gotten up onto my lap and was as happy as could be simply sitting there. Every so often Olive would look up and give me a kiss on my nose. Once she heard Finlay moving the ball around, she decided to join him for a short while until she had gotten a few treats. She made sure to come back and join me for an extra head rub.

Millie was as fiery as ever today. She was definitely in the mood to play as soon as she stepped into the yard. By the time I had gotten out into the yard, Millie already had three toys surrounding her; a bright red spiked toy, a blue Frisbee and a blue toy bone. Lucky for me I didn't have to chose which to play with first because Millie picked up the red spiked toy and threw it in my direction. As soon as I picked it up, Millie had already gone flying into the longer grass and was waiting for me to throw it. We ended up playing fetch for a little while but then it was time for a game of tug. Millie brought the toy over and we began. I wasn't sure if she was wagging her bum in order to beat me in the game of tug or because she was just that happy. Either way, the two of us had a blast! Next up was the Frisbee. She joined me for a another game of tug with this new and exciting toy. However this time it didn't last too long because she was ready to play with her new friend Zen. Millie loved following Zen around and would even jump up to play tackle with her. Later in the morning, Millie and I spent some time in the reception area. The first few minutes we spent going through the toy bin and Millie selected a few that she liked the most. We first played tug with the ring toy and then Millie switched gears to the stuffed toy and we then tugged on that one for a bit. Millie then grew a little restless inside so I took her for a little stroll around the front field. Millie was very happy to sniff all the wet grass. She then rolled in the longer grass, sniffing around as she went. She looked so silly and immediately came over to me when I called her. I gave her a little treat before we went back to the kennel for a nice relaxing nap.

Coco and Timbits had a very busy day. Lucky for them, there two hound buddies were here too. Grace returned for one evening of boarding, while Bailey is here for daycare, too. When they head out for their walk they spotted their friends in kennels and could hardly focus on walking, because they wanted o get back and begin playing. The moment Timmy stepped foot in the yard he was after Bailey and her toy. He looped in circles after her trying his absolute hardest to snag a toy from his buddy. Grace was quick to get involved in the games, and next thing I knew these three hounds were racing full speed around the yard, Aurora, their husky buddy, joined in too. Timmy loves having access to the full yard as this allows the chases to go on and on forever. As they were flying around the yard, Coco came zooming around the corner to see what all the hooting and hollering was about. She was quick to pick Timmy out of the crowd and beeline towards him to try and scold him. Timbits wasn’t having any of it, and carried on playing. Coco decided, fine, she will join in too. Coco had a great time with her hound friends, but was sure to tell the youngsters off when needed. After a couple fast laps around the yard she broke off to sniff and explore. She made her way to the door before we head in where she showed off some of her commands, in return for some tasty liver treats. Of course Timbits and friends snagged some too.

Bailey is always a joy to have around. She adds so much positive energy to her playgroup; it makes our outdoor time an absolute blast. The second she stepped foot outdoors she had her nose to the ground in search of a great toy. She was quick to find an old Frisbee and begin shaking it around. It took no time at all for all the attention to be on her. She loved this, and used it to her advantage to start a chase. Bailey’s best buddies Timbits and Grace were eager to play around with her. They looped around the yard once or twice, before Bailey noticed the young husky puppy dragging a toy along. Of course, Bailey needed to have this toy. She darted after Firefly, and squeezed under the picnic table with her. The pair was adorable, chewing on a toy together. Yet again, Bailey was distracted by another toy. She saw a red Kong bone and wiggled out from the table to grab it and begin running. This toy was for sure her favorite of the day. As the entire running and playing was going on, she participated with the bone in her mouth. Not once did she drop it, even while running full speed across the yard leaping over obstacles and darting around friends. She was having so much fun racing around she barely remembered she even had the toy. She continued to race for ages. When she finally was running low on gas, Bailey slowed down to check out the blue Frisbee. We played some tug, before she head over to the door to catch her breathe. By the door, she sat very politely for some treats and hung out with all the other dogs in her group.

Bella and Jake started their day off with a nice trail walk they were happy to have the company of fellow small dog friend, Mika. The trio set out with wagging tails, eager to investigate the freshly cut track. As they were wandering along, both Jake and Bella wandered off the trail to check out the hay. They love sticking their noses in the piles of hay, surely investigating for field mice and other little creatures. Back at the kennel, in the yard, the duo was excited to meet all their friends. Bella did a quick drive by of everyone before setting off to explore, while Jake was sure to take his time to say his hellos. Jake briefly participated in a race around the yard with all the hounds and then met up with the husky ladies to flirt Bella made her way to my side when she made note of Jake by my side. After the pair got lots of kisses and cuddles from me, they politely sat in re turn for a treat. From here, they got very excited and began to bounce and bound around. They got a lot of eyes on them for all their shenanigans and the pair was briefly the center of attention. As they boxed back and forth, play bowed, and zipped in circles their friends kept a close eye on them. A lot of fun was had before Bella left Jake to investigate the gravel yard. Jake finished his outdoor time off by hanging out with his bigger dog friends and supervising the young ones playing.

Sam had yet another five star day with us. Today, she was thrilled to have a couple new friends join her out in the yard. She has been walking daily with Dragon and Gryphon the wonderful Bernese Mountain Dogs, and today she was ready to hang out in the yard with them. The moment she got outdoors she was thrilled to see not only Justice but also her two walking pals. She zoomed from friend to friend, saying her hellos, before quickly spotting a new toy and playing with it. She snatched it up and then launched it in the air for herself. As it landed she leapt on top of it and began dancing around it like mad. This got the attention of Justice, and she was soon competing with him for the toy. The pair loved playing a fun loving round of fetch, alternating racing for it and retrieving it. These games lasted forever, until Sam needed to cool down in the pool. As she head into the pool she was reminded that Dragon and Gryphon were outdoors with her too. She leapt out of the pool to check in with the boys. She was glad to play around with them for a bit before heading back to the pool for some more splashing around. Dragon joined her by the pool, which she was very pleased about. She got back onto dry land to play around with Dragon a bit. The pair was very cute dancing around in circles, pawing at one another being very flirty. Sam had endless amounts of fun today, alternating between Justice, her Bernese friends, toys and the pool. Sam was ready to play when it came time for her extra attention this afternoon. She picked a red spiked ball out of the toy basket and carried it over to me with a big smile on her face. I kept bouncing the ball up in the air so that she could jump up and catch it. After a while, Alyssa came up and joined us for some cuddles. Sam jogged right over to her and buried her face right against her arm. The two of them snuggled for quite some time and ended with a long belly rub.
