Max was rip roaring and ready to get out and play today! He sang his excited song before I asked him to take a second to relax until it was time to go out into the yard. When I opened the door, Max raced out into the sunshine, while Sadie took her time to hang out in the shade before joining us further in the yard. Sadie was in more of a serene mood today, and did her usual lounging business in both the shady area and in the sun. Sadie happily came to sit with me for some pets and snuggles, while Max continued to tour the yard on his own. He came across the empty pool and hopped into it, which caught Sadie’s attention too. The pair stood in the pool together and stared at me, as if they were asking me to fill it up! When I went to get the hose though, they had both trotted off and found things to sniff or play structures to climb.

Oscar is such a ball of positive energy and really adds fun and excitement to his group. Today he was pleased to see Jake the mini doodle back for daycare, and raced over to pounce on him upon entering the yard. Meanwhile, Jake’s sister Bella was casually greeting the group and following her nose around the fence. Oscar and Jake made their way out to the grassy yard and bumped into little Firefly the Husky puppy and her mom Aurora, who were playing in the agility tunnel. Jake was very interested in joining them, but Oscar found himself a toy in the grass that he was determined to pick up. He tried to pick up the rubber bone toy from all angles, but it proved to be quite the challenge so I went and helped him out. I threw the toy across the yard for him and he raced after it with Jake following closely behind. Firefly bumbled over to try and get her paws on the toy, too but she was no match for Oscar and Jake! After a couple of rounds of fetch, Oscar, Jake and I went back to relax in the shade with Bella and friends. Bella was happy to accept plenty of pets and cuddles while we watched everyone and enjoyed the day.

Penny and Pippin came in for daycare this morning with their tails wagging a mile a minute! These girls are always so happy and cuddly and they get along so well with all of our small dog guests. Penny was keen to say hello to all of the other dogs, while Pippin went for a little jog around the yard with Finlay the Border terrier and Oscar the cockapoo. I went back towards the shady area of the yard and before I knew it, both Penny and Pippin were back by my side, ready to hang out and spend time together. It’s so funny how Penny and Pippin have coincidentally been here with us at the same time as their male counterparts, Casper and William the past couple of times!

Olive and Finlay are so much fun! Finlay was so eager to meet all of his friends out in the yard shortly after arriving this morning. Olive was keen to do more exploring than greeting, and ventured out into the yard to mosey around with her nose down. Finlay wasted no time in finding the perfect playmates and get off to the races. He met Oscar the Cockapoo, Jake the doodle and Firefly the Husky puppy, who were all excited and ready to play with their new pal. I left Finlay to it after a little while and went back over to hang out with Olive, who was back in the shade with some of the quieter dogs. She hopped up on my lap to relax, which didn’t last too long when Finlay came charging over and smothered Olive with kisses! Later on in the day in between their group outings, Olive and Finlay joined me in the reception area for some one-on-one play time. Finlay was so excited that he started to run around the room, only coming back around to give Olive more kisses. She hopped up onto the armchair with me and I gave her lots of head scratches until Finlay hopped up to join us!

Millie, Lola and Quinn couldn’t wait to play today! They were all full of beans and joined up for some fun right off the bat. Lola and Quinn, the Aussie brother and sister duo, got the games started by racing around the yard over and over again. Millie bounced along enthusiastically, doing a great job at keeping up with the fast-paced Aussies. Lola and Quinn did a big lap of the yard and leapt into the pool of cool water to splash around. Quinn laid down to full soak himself, while Lola stood with her paws in the water, while Millie watched from the sidelines. Once Lola and Quinn hopped out of the yard to run some more, Millie took advantage of the empty pool and went for a splash herself. When the chasing resumed, Lola, Quinn and Millie had some new contestants join them in the race. Jax the Golden and Ghira the Portuguese water dog were both keen to sprint a few laps with their friends.

Millie joined me in the reception area in between her group outings for her extra attention time this afternoon. Her favourite things lately have been the toy basket and the orange treat ball, and Millie was excited as ever to find them all waiting for her to have some fun. Millie immediately locked her sights on the treat ball and raced over to grab it off the floor. She ran around in circles with the ball until I showed her to roll it around with her paws. Next, she went for the toy bin and pulled out all sorts of options. Katie came to join us too and threw the red ball for Millie as many times as she wanted to chase it!

Lola and Quinn are such a lovely pair. They wiggled up the hallway between group outings this afternoon to have some fun playing with Tiffani. Quinn went for the snake stuffed toy right away and started to shake it around as hard as he could, sending some fluff flying out. Lola watched her silly brother shake the toy for a minute, then snuck in to sit in front of me for a few pets as we watched. Quinn and Tiffani played tug for a while until the snake toy was almost out of stuffing! Lola and Quinn ended their time together with some snuggles up on the armchair with Tiffani.

My lovely boy Jax always has a big smile on his face, and today was no exception! He bounded out the door and into the yard, ready to play and hang out with all of his pals. He couldn’t help but come and see me for some pets and scratches first, though! We stood together and watched as Lola, Quinn and Millie raced around the yard together, until Jax decided the time was right to go and join in himself. Jax sprinted along with the other dogs with his ears flapping in the wind. When he was tired of the chase, Jax met up with Ghira the Portuguese water dog for some one-on-one play! When it was time to take a break, Jax hopped into the kiddie pool to splash around. He was still grinning when I went to get him for our extra attention session this afternoon in between his group outings. Jax and I played with the red ball in the reception area until Katie came walking in with a big bag of treats! Jax showed off some of his best tricks for a few treats in return, and finished off his time enjoying a head scratch from me.

Sam had another fantastic day spent in our care; she could hardly wait to zoom out the door and into the hallway to meet up with best pal Justice. But as usual, Sam was on the move and I don’t think I have ever seen her move as fast as she did today. She was literally whipping from one yard to the next excitedly with her silly tongue hanging out the side of the mouth. We had so much fun playing fetch in the pool yesterday that we decided to have another session today. There she was off leaping into the air after the toys and splashing around furiously in the pool! I brought Sam into the playroom for her extra attention time this afternoon with her best friend Justice. The two of them were completely full of beans as soon as they ran in. Sam immediately picked up a red ball and started a game of chase with Justice. The two of them ran circles around me for quite some time before they started play tackling. Soon enough Sam was ready to come over and relax beside me. She snuggled up next to my leg and waited for a head rub. However, Justice pounced towards her shortly after and they were both off again, racing around the room. After this race was over, Sam and I played a few games of catch. It was fun to see how high she could jump for the ball!

Finnigan was extra spoiled today, if that’s even possible! He spent his day lounging in the staff room with best Golden friend Charly. He absolutely loves the days that he gets to spend in the staff room and he wasted no time getting down to wrestle with Charly. Like they weren’t having enough fun, it was now time to head out for their outdoor playgroup. He met up with daycare friends Jemma and Willis and he was thrilled to have so many playful friends to run around with. Jemma spotted Finnigan out in the yard and started to zoom towards him; Jemma and Finn are the best of friends and always have a great time together. Jemma excitedly jumped up on her hind legs and started to paw at Finn like the goofy girl she is. Willis could hear all the commotion and decided to see what was going on for himself. Willis stole Jemma’s attention away from Finn and the two of them took a few laps around the yard together. Although much bigger, Jemma was very gentle with her new friend Willis and really enjoyed his company! While Jemma and Willis were running laps, Finn had stolen the red bone away from Charly and was guarding it with his life from little Lab pup Barb. He was trying to teach the young one some boundaries. It wasn’t until Jemma and Willis had made their way back to Finn where he finally let the bone go and rolled over onto his back to paw at the air in usual Finn fashion.

Macy is such a sweetheart, I always look forward to her daycare days so I can see her smiling face and get my endless supply of cuddles, or my Macy-fix you could say! She happily followed me out into the yard and started her exploration. During her travels, she was excited to come across good daycare friend Oakley. Oakley is just as sweet as Macy and the two of them make a great pair. Together they watched the rambunctious two Chloe and Bella tear up the yard and both their heads whipped back and forth as they tried to keep up with them in the yard. Oakley was on one side of me and Macy on the other, they were very grateful for the head rubs! Hobart eventually made his way over to the ladies and decided that he wanted some cuddles as well. He sandwiched himself in between Macy and Oakley and joined in on the pet train! He was all smiles for the rest of the morning and the ladies really enjoyed his company as well!

I don’t think I have ever seen Annie and Zen play as much as they did today. It’s usually one or the other that will join in the group play, but today the two of them couldn’t resist the spunky daycare duo of Bella and Chloe! Bella and Chloe are the best of friends and nearly inseparable again today. Chloe initiated the play with Bella and started nudging her back until finally Bella couldn’t resist anymore and whipped around to join her. The two of them jumped up on their hind legs and started to dance and it wasn’t long before they were then off whipping around the yard after one another. That’s when both Annie and Zen decided to join in, they just couldn’t resist the chase and the four of them started running circles around the play structure after one another. Bella eventually took cover under the actual play structure and Annie and Zen tried to paw at her from the outside since they were much to big to squeeze under like she did! This gave Chloe the opportunity to cool down in the pool and she fully submerged herself into the water and somehow managed to fit all of her limbs in!
