Sam was looking forward to the day and could hardly wait to get outside for her walk. We were joined by her friends Dragon and Gryphon, who happily said hello and then followed Sam as she raced for the trail. She was leaping all over the place trying to sniff everything at once. After running around for most of the walk, Sam was ready for a rest when we got back to her kennel! She was back to being energetic once it was her turn in the yard. Sam was super excited to say hello to Justice, who politely gave her a sniff before heading off to do his own thing. I found a ball in the yard and Sam immediately ran over, sliding to a stop at my feet and quickly sitting down. I could tell that she was trying hard not to jump up and she was doing a great job of keeping herself calm and collected. We played fetch for a while, until Sam decided she needed a breather and went to wander around with Justice. The two of them went from one end of the yard to the other, and then Justice laid down for a nap so Sam bounced over to me again. Along the way she got distracted by a frog hopping through the grass. Sam tried to catch it although it made it through the fence before she could. For a while after it had disappeared, Sam keeping pouncing and nosing around in the grass. Eventually she gave up and headed for the pool. It wasn't exactly swimming weather, but she still jumped in for a quick splash before racing back to my side, eager to play with some more toys.
For Sam's extra attention today, we headed up to the reception. I had grabbed a handful of treats for her and it didn't take long before she had sniffed them out, so we started with a few tricks and after Sam had shown off her manners, she happily enjoyed her reward while I found a toy. Next we played with a fun bouncy toy that had Sam leaping all around the room after it. We finished things off with a nice cuddle.

April had so much fun today with all her pals! She was a little shy at first, but was running around on the trail with her new friends Maddy and Macy in no time. She is such a sweet girl, and looked very content as she trotted through the grass, stopping every little while to sniff around a bit. During group playtime, she enjoyed mingling with all the other dogs and made friends with the little Boston Terrier, Millie. Millie came over to April and tentatively said hello, but April was more than happy to say hi back and the two ended up exploring the yard together. When April wasn’t hanging out with her buddies or sniffing every nook and cranny of the yard, she followed me pretty closely and got lots of scratches behind the ear. During her extra attention time, she loved checking out all the toys and getting lots of cuddles. She sat with me for a while and I gave her lots of pets before we headed outside to play in the grass. She loved having the whole front yard to herself as she sniffed around and jumped through all the flowers and tall grass. She is so much fun to hang out with, and always gave me sweetest looks with her big adorable eyes!

Chigo had a blast today! He was very eager to get outside this morning and was the first one out in the yard. He loves being able to spend time with all his doggie friends and especially like hanging out with the sweet German Shepherd, April. Then, he headed out on a walk with his buddies Maggie and Ghira. He set a great example as he calmly trotted out ahead, and was so nice to Maggie and Ghira, who were both very excited. He really enjoyed exploring the trail and would stop every little while to check out a new smell or try and see what was rustling around in the tall grass. During outdoor playtime, he had a really good time playing fetch and loved every toy that I showed him. He was being a very good boy, and sat very patiently as he waited for me to throw the toy. Then, he would tear off after it and if he didn’t bring it back it was because he’d already found another toy that he wanted to play with!

Millie was full of beans today, and had a great time playing outside with all her pals! She was very excited to go outside this morning and ran around the yard at full speed as soon as she hit the grass. Then, she headed out for a walk with her buddies Haley and Quill. The three of them had a blast and were all getting along very well. Millie loved walking right beside Quill, and the two of them had a great time exploring the trail together. This afternoon, Millie had a good time mingling with all the other dogs and was being such a good girl. She made friends with April, the gentle German Shepherd, who came in this morning and they strutted around the yard together before coming over and both getting a scratch behind the ear—Millie was being very nice about sharing the attention. Then Millie decided the wanted to be even taller than all the big dogs and hopped up onto the picnic table. She loves being able to get up high and have a better view of everything that’s going on, and as everyone sniffed around the picnic table she said hello to them all from above. She also to a liking to the stuffed toy that was on the table, and we played tug of war for a little while before heading.

It was so nice to see Maggie’s sweet face again this morning! As soon as she got here we headed out on a walk with Ghira and Chigo, the German Shepherd. Maggie and Ghira were full of beans and kept rolling around in the grass together as Chigo walked on ahead. After they got all their energy out, Maggie ran up ahead and was sniffing all over the trail and checking out all the sounds in the tall grass. During group time this afternoon, she decided to hang back a bit with her friend Oliver. Everyone was very excited and were all tearing around the yard, instead Maggie came over and got a cuddle and a scratch behind the ear. She is so sweet and always gave me a big smile whenever I walked over to say hello. After a little while, she got more comfortable around everyone and decided to hang out with the Burmese Mountain dogs, Dragon and Gryphon. Together they trotted around the yard and explored the picnic table, the play structure and all the little holes that other dogs had dug up. She had a great day, and settled in very nicely after making lots of friends today!
