Daycare friends Teddy and Percy were quite the pair out in
the yard today! After their respective morning walks, they met up for another Thursday’s
worth of fun. Percy went straight for the red toy, as usual, while Teddy did
lap after lap of the yard. He followed Percy through the agility tunnel and
back around the yard a few times until Percy stopped in front of me, inviting
me to play fetch. I was happy to throw the toy for these two silly guys, and
they both chased after it over and over. They make the best fetch buddies,
since Percy likes to catch the toy and Teddy is just in it for the chase. After
a few rounds together, their good friend Spencer came to join the party, which
led to a bit more running and a little bit of wrestling between he and Teddy.
Spencer and Cai started off their daycare day with a little
bit of a wrestling match together! They hopped up and pawed at one another for
a few minutes around the agility tunnel until Spencer caught an interesting
scent in the wind, and Cai noticed me sitting down petting another friend. Cai
came bouncing over to me and rubbed his side against me, asking for some pets.
He was in a very snuggly mood and sat right beside me for quite a while like a
big teddy bear! We went back over to see the other dogs after our snuggle
session and Cai said another hello to Spencer, who was following his nose in
the grass along the fence. His nose led him to a lovely lady named Glory and he
spent some time hanging out with her. They stood by the door and the fence that
leads to the other yard, and Spencer heard a strange sound coming from the yard
on the other side of the building. He stood there and watched the puppy group
from a distance until Cai and Wally the bloodhound came bounding in.
Mikka had yet another fantastic day full of play today!
After a trail walk with her good pal Grace, Mikka hit the yard running. She and
Barb the puppy met up instantly, and wrestled together all over the yard. The
pair rolled and bounced from yard to yard, in the pool and over to the play
house. She was thrilled to meet up with Cooper the doodle, who was playing with
a few different toys all while splashing in the water. When Cooper ran across
the yard Mikka was always close behind, ready for all of the action possible.
When she saw Cooper and Olivia playing tug with a toy, Mikka flew over and
tried to grab onto it too! She watched and waited for an opportunity to pounce
on their toy, but Barb came up and tackled her, instigating another round of
wrestle mania. This silly little goose got the zoomies shortly after the start
of the wrestling match, and she, Barb, Cooper, Grace and Olivia zipped around
the yard as fast as the speed of light! Mikka adds such a fun energy to her
group!
Miss Grace had tons of fun today! She enjoyed her morning
walk with her play-mate Mikka, who she’s spent lots of time with over the
course of her stay. Grace and I came right up to the reception area after her
walk to hang out for her extra attention time. She hopped right up onto the big
armchair with Nicki, looking for snuggles and love. After she received some
pets from her, Grace moved on to the next armchair to sit with Tiffani! She’s
such a snuggle bug. I offered her some toys when she was done socializing, and
Grace couldn’t keep her paws off of the stuffed elephant! Another dog had
started a little hole in the elephant, and before long Grace had her whole face
buried in it, silly girl! When our extra time together came to an end, Grace’s
group time began. She wasted no time before running around the big yard
alongside some of her best friends. Grace ran and ran and ran like a bolt of
lightning with Bassett hound pal Olivia, Timbits the Beagle, Mikka the
Lapphund, among others. She loves to stretch those long legs of hers!
Maya and Rocky had a very busy day today;
they were paired with two different groups, one of them being our Husky
puppies! The pups just adored little Rocky, he was trying to find his usual
comfy spot by the door, but the pups swarmed him and wanted to say hello. The
look in his eye was hilarious; he didn’t know what to do! But of course he was
very gentle and enjoyed their company. Maya had the same look of confusion on
her face as well; she couldn’t believe there were that many puppies! Maya and
Rocky hung out in their usual spot; I knew they needed some encouragement to
join us in the grassy yard, so I transported Rocky and without question, Maya
followed behind. They enjoyed sniffing out the grassy yard and ran around with
the puppies for a while. We wanted to test the puppies out with some gentle
friends and Maya and Rocky were the ones for the job!
Issy and Mocha enjoyed a wonderful brisk
trot around the trail this morning with little friend Resa. It’s always a blast
to watch these two maneuver around the trail. Issy always has her tail perked
right up and nose to the ground in exploration, while Mocha enjoyed a grass
roll or two, making everyone stop and wait for her! Surprisingly, Mocha decided
to roam the yard today before taking her usual spot at the door. She felt
comfortable roaming around with daycare ladies Tsavo and Kimi whom always join
her on Thursdays. Issy was no where to be seen, she had already made her way
out into the far grassy yard and was simply enjoying her freedom! She
eventually circled back around and kept Mocha company for the rest of the
morning; these two sweet sisters enjoyed some cuddles together!
Regular Thursday daycare friends Kimi and
Tsavo enjoyed the company of Viggo the Shepherd today. They each took turns excitedly
circling around him to see if they could entice him to a play. Kimi is
hilarious to watch in the yard, she has such a spunky attitude and she loves to
stoically stand there and observe her surroundings. You just never know when
Kimi will get a case of the zoomies and start leaping around the yard out of
nowhere! Tsavo was pleased to see pal Charly the Golden, she loves to chase
after Charly while Charly chases after her ball! Together, they made a few laps
around the yard before joining us back up front for a group hangout. It was a
fairly quiet group for the bunch, but they sure did enjoy one another’s company
and it was the perfect opportunity to snap some silly photos and hand out some
head rubs!
