Max and Sadie are always so happy to arrive in the morning. The duo wiggles their way to the back stopping at every staff member to say their infamous hellos. I spotted Sarah enjoying a walk along the trail with them. Sadie trailed along behind Sarah while Max led the way tugging her along the path. She had her arms spread wide as the siblings took their time enjoying the smells ahead and behind at their own pace. For their play group after patiently waiting for the OK from me, Max and Sadie bolted into the yard barely taking two steps out the door before beginning to wrestle around. Their wrestling didn't end any time soon. Max continued to pounce all over Sadie as she led him around the yard racing as fast as possible. The duo had so much fun wrestling and running in the deep snow. Sadie especially loves lying down in the powder. Max thinks she's a little crazy snoozing in the cold snow. He always races up to her howling then sprinting away looking for a chase but she's happy to stay put. It took much convincing to get this special girl indoors today. I had to follow her around the door, patiently waiting for her to lie down in numerous different spots attempting to escape me. After some cuddles and kisses Sadie gave in to me and followed myself and her brother into their kennel where they both happily cuddled up on their big cloud bed.
I was so excited to get out into the yard
this morning with favourite daycare ladies Kaos, Bella and Oakley but probably
not as excited as Husky pals Justice and Kyah who are their best friends. As
I emerged into the yard, Oakley popped out of nowhere and jumped up on her hind
legs to get my attention and give me a big sloppy kiss on the face. We all know
how much Oakley enjoys her human companionship and as usual was glued to my hip
most of the morning. If I didn’t give her the attention she wanted, she would
either jump up again on her hind legs or simply give me a paw to the knee and
graciously accept the head rubs. It wasn’t until towards the end of her time
outside that she ran over to Justice and jumped on his back to play. This spurt
of energy came out of nowhere but she was determined to horse around with her
favourite Husky pals. Bella, on the other hand, didn’t waste any time encouraging
Justice to play with her and darted straight for him once she entered the yard.
This brought up the energy of the whole group as they all quickly joined in and
tried to keep up with Justice who was hiding behind the fencing ready to make
his move. Bella tried her best to keep up with this silly boy and they all
ended up at their favourite hangout spot on top of the agility tunnel. Both
Kyah and Justice took their usual spots on top while Bella and the gang barked
and jumped in excitement. Kaos was one of those pups that couldn’t contain her
excitement and followed the pack wherever they went. In fact Kaos was extremely
playful the moment she set paw in that yard and you could tell she felt
extremely comfortable with her group and was full of beans! She absolutely adored
Bella and Oakley but even more so loved chasing after Justice and Kyah and she
could be seen flying through the air with her big cheek flaps vibrating from
the wind.
Rupert had an extra special time during his
first group outing this morning; he has been enjoying his time with his
favourite sweet sister friends Jynxx and Skie but was thrilled to meet the
brother of the family named Nyxx! Rupert acted as if he was part of the Husky
family and played and wrestled with them all morning long. It takes one special
dog to distract Rupert from his favourite ball and Nyxx did just that; Rupert
was just enthralled with him and followed him wherever he went around the yard. This
Husky family accepted Rupert into their pack as if he was one of them and it
was so funny to watch the four of them tumble around in the snow together. After
all of that wrestling, Rupert finally acknowledged me and took a seat beside me
to catch his breath.
