Rupert was pretty excited for it to be his extra attention time. We made our way up to the front playroom where he then set out to do a little exploring. When nothing really caught his attention Rupert came and stared at me, waiting for me to grab a toy and start throwing. I showed him a couple and he settled on the blue toy. Rupert then started bouncing impatiently waiting for me to throw it. I did as he wished and gave it a toss. We soon had a nice little game going on. Rupert was also very careful to make sure that he placed the toy very close to me for the next toss. To mix it up a little I did some little tosses so he could catch them. Some were rather impressive; considering I was trying to avoid a lot of air so he wouldn't jump too much. Eventually Rupert got tired of fetch, though I did have to convince him of the fact. We then settled down for some pets and bum rubs.

Issy and Mocha were rather excited to be here today. The fresh snow was enough to get both the girls excited for walks and group time. They motored along the back trail with their noses deep in the powder throughout their entire walk. Both girls found lots to sniff and explore amongst the bushes in the back. In the yard both Issy and Mocha ventured out into the big yard to thoroughly explore the smells under the snow. There is about a foot of snow in our agility yard which kept the pair very busy. Issy loved romping through it, dipping her head into the powder when a good smell came up from beneath. Mocha preferred to walk where it had already been packed down and explore there. Mocha was happy to spend a lot of time by my side accepting pats and cuddles while her crazy group mates zoomed around the yard. While Mocha was gladly being pet, Boris wasn’t too far from her trying to flirt with Issy. Issy wasn’t fond of the idea of her grandson flirting with her, and told her off loud and clear. Boris didn’t take the hint and continued to try and play. The only one who could solve this was Issy’s daughter and Boris’s mom, Tasha. Tasha gave Boris a firm telling, resulting in Boris lying down next to Issy, peaking up at her and kissing under her chin. Issy wasn’t bothered by this and seemed to appreciate the attention. The girls spend the remainder of their outdoor time sitting in the snow closely supervising the crazy games.

Hobart and I had another great walk along the back trail this morning. He was so excited to see me come down the hall with a leash in hand, he knew exactly what time it was. After dancing, around in his kennel and giving me a couple barks, I clipped Hobart up and we set off for an adventure with two of his friends. Hobart was thrilled to get out back, he practically pulled me across the bridge that leads me to the trail. I was thankful to have the momentum as the hill after the trail has been very slippery from the snow. Hobart lead the group along the path, not afraid to plow through the snow. He stopped every occasionally, to stick his whole face under the snow to pick up on whatever scent was beneath the powder. When we got back indoors I had to pick some snow balls from Hobarts paws. He thanked me by giving me a big wet cold kiss across the face. In the yard, Hobart was happy to stick to himself and sniff around. The other dogs did invite him to play, but he politely declined each time. Hobart kept busy by wandering around the perimeter of the yard with his nose to the ground, digging at the snow whenever something good came about, revealing the dreaded dirt.

Tasha and Boris were happy to partake in a group that resulted in quite the family reunion. Tasha was very pleased to see her mom Issy, and her half brother Ricky. She quickly made her way to the both and did loops around them saying hello. Boris was much too focused on Wally and Glory to even give two seconds of his time to greet his family members. He instantly began to bounce all over Wally looking for a game. Wally wasn’t to interested, but Ricky spotted the action from across the yard and bee-lined his way to Boris to intervene and join in. Boris and Ricky hit it off right away leading to some very fast paced and intense games. Wally then decided he wanted to be involved, leading to Tasha getting involved too. Soon enough, Boris was in the lead of a major chase with Ricky, Wally, Percy and Tasha trailing behind. He was so fast and agile zooming around the yard dodging every obstacle and other dog. He flew over the agility tunnel and was surprised to see Ricky fly over after him and even Wally climb on top then slide down the other side. Tasha and Percy zipped around the tunnel meeting him on the other side, starting a big wrestling match. Boris was the center of attention throughout the entire time outdoors. Their wrestling and running never stopped, keeping me very entertained. I had to watch myself as it is dangerous having three huskies and two bloodhounds charging at me full speed. They kept themselves very busy until it was time to come indoors where they happily made their way into there kennel for a snooze before their next outing.

Percy kept very busy today from the moment he arrived to the second he crashed out in his kennel after playgroup. Percy was thrilled to set out along the back trail for a walk in the fresh snow. He zoomed left and right the entire walk, insisting on sniffing everything beneath the snow as well as every tree, branch and twig that he came across. By the time main play groups rolled around he was just as excited to get going all over again. He couldn’t have been happier to see me follow him out the door with a bright orange ball in hand. This kept him very occupied for the first portion of outdoor time. We played lots of rounds of fetch which he excels at. Percy had no trouble plowing through the deep snow and retrieving the ball after it sank far down into the powder. Every time he came running back to me his black face was temporarily white from the coat of snow across him. We had lots of fun playing fetch, but he was soon distracted by his husky friends running and wrestling around. Percy insisted on putting his two sense into their games. He was very vocal towards them, making it clear that at times their playing was a little rough. Percy was shocked when group mate Boris began to howl back at him. This quieted him down right away, leading him to play around with him without chatting away. Percy did plenty of laps around the yard after his fast and agile husky friends along with his not so agile hound friends. This group of dogs kept Percy moving from start to finish of play time and boy was he happy to get back to his kennel where he could catch a few zzz’s to recharge for his next outing.

Rupert is really enjoying his smaller group, as all the attention seems to be devoted to him and his love for fetch. He couldn’t have been more excited to see me follow him into the yard with a ball in hand. In fact, he spent his time heading down the hall leaping all over me asking me to please drop the ball. I finally launched it for him and he was a very happy camper. Our game of fetch lasted throughout the entire duration of his group time. HE was happy to have his two girlfriends hot on his heels chasing after him and the ball. He always beats them to it and shows the ball off to them by doing a couple loops around them before returning to me. Rupert was a very good boy during fetch today, retrieving it and returning it without and hesitation. He kept me very busy, never stopping for a minute. We had lots of fun and ended out time off with some nice cuddles and kisses outside in the cold. He was happy to get back to his kennel where he hopped up on his cot and got comfy on his blanket for a nice afternoon nap. It was a big and playful group for the small guys today and this included energetic daycare pups Merlin and Miko. While most of the small ones were bundled up in their winter parkas, Merlin and Miko kept themselves warm by running laps around the yard and wrestling with friends. Miko was beyond ecstatic about all of the white fluffy snow; he got a serious case of the zoomies and started racing around the yard while pushing his little face into the snow. He would then pop his head back up and would be covered in snow bunnies, but that didn’t deter him from chasing after Shelby. Miko and Shelby kept one another company all morning long and I was surprised to see how much energy they both had even after trying to rummage through all of that snow with their short legs! Every so often, Miko would have to stop running and take a breather while he stuck his tongue out, making sure not to lose sight of Shelby so he could make his next move once he caught his breath. Merlin was just as busy and it was so funny to watch him roll around in the snow with joy, his black curly fur really stands out in all that snow! He spent most of his time playing with best pal Pippin who is another little daycare friend. She was all bundled up in her black coat but that didn’t stop her from jumping up on her hind legs to wrestle with playful Merlin. These two made their way into the far yard to join in with Miko and Shelby but were quickly distracted by brother-sister duo Jake and Bella who were having their own fun playing in the snow. Even Bella who normally steers clear of the chase-action was right in the centre of it all and had a blast trying to keep up with Jake. Jake always makes the most of his time outside and today was no different, he played and rolled around in the snow all morning long and would join in the various wrestling matches along the way. Bella did make her way back to the front yard where she kept Julie company and barked to her little hearts content as she heard the big-dog group playing in the adjacent yard. As much fun as the little ones were having outside, they were just excited to come back in to the warmth and cuddle up in their cozy beds.

Max and Sadie were thrilled to join us back today for daycare and were ready to burn off some energy out in the snow. But first they both showed me how good they were by sitting patiently in their kennels before I opened the door, then burst out once they got the go ahead. We practiced a few more sit commands outside which they both obediently obliged but then it was time for some fun and the two of them leaped and bound across the yard after one another. Sadie then discovered the red ball that she enjoyed playing with so much last week and started to paw at it in excitement. This of course got the attention of Max and the two of them sprawled out together in the snow as they tried to steal the ball back and forth with their mouths! It was so funny to see how excited they both were over this ball but it only kept them occupied for so long before they were back to wrestling again!
