Sunday December 11th, 2016

Buddy was all about the exploring when he headed out for group today. His nose hit the ground about two seconds after we got outside. After that Buddy was off in search of exciting things. He went all around the main yard before venturing out to the far yard. Buddy ended up over by the far fence, where he spent some time staring out with Jessie. When he was done watching beyond the fence, Buddy was hit with a burst of energy and took off running across the yard. This led him to another fence and he spent some time staring out and exploring along the ground. When Qorky went racing past, Buddy decided to tag along behind him and see what he was up to. After seeing what Qorky wanted (to play with Tomi) Buddy decided to do another thorough examination of the main yard.
When it was time for Buddy's extra attention he was more than happy to make his way up to the front room. He went trotting around checking everything out. It didn't take long before he was hopping up on the chair and wanting pets and attention. Buddy then hopped down to do a little more exploring before making his way onto the other chair. After he had checked out the decorations Buddy made his way over to me for some more pets and bum scratches. I went and grabbed some treats, which he got pretty excited about. I asked Buddy to do some sits which he lit up about. Once all the treats were gone we settled on the chair together so he could get lots of pets and attention.
Qorky had so much fun today. He started out by heading out to the far yard and doing some exploring along the fence line. Qorky wasn't alone, and found himself being followed around by Jasper and Ziggy. Once he'd seen enough he decided it was time for running. Qorky took off running by himself - didn't look like there was much reason behind it other than fun. I think he was also hoping that someone would chase after him and when they didn't he stopped and looked around. Qorky then spotted Tomi over in the other yard and went racing over to her. They did a little bouncing thing and then Qorky went running off once more, this time with Julie on his heels. Qorky was ready to run and have fun when he got back out to the far yard. He was more than happy to see that Tomi had decided to follow him out and was ready to run as well. It wasn't just them though, they were also joined by Max and Ziggy.

Zim made his way out to the far yard and immediately set out to do some exploring. His nose hit the ground and he barely lifted it to see where he was going. Zim made his way all around the yard very focused on finding anything interesting. His attention was then caught by Rupert who was checking out something by the tunnel. That done Zim continued on his way around the yard with his nose to the ground. Eventually along the way Zim met up with Koda. They stood staring at each other for a few moments before they both playbowed and started to wrestle and have fun. After bouncing around for awhile Zim decided to make his way to the main yard and start going over it thoroughly. He finished with the yard and went racing out to the far yard. Zim ran a couple laps, when something by the fence caught his attention and he went racing over to check it out. His attention was captured once again only this time by Sophie, who was having fun playing with a ball. Zim tried to get the ball from her for a little while. He then met up with Justice and soon they were bouncing and racing around.

Rupert decided to start his group time with some exploring. He followed the fence line with his nose to the ground. Rupert's path lead him over to the tunnel to give it a good once over. When he finished checking the tunnel over he was hit with some zoomies and took off racing across the yard. With that little burst of energy out of the way Rupert headed out to do a little more exploring. He didn't stay exploring long. Rupert's attention was soon captured by Sophie who was playing with a ball. He spent a little bit of time hoping that Sophie would drop it so he could snatch it up, but no such luck. Deciding to get over his disappointment Rupert went running to join Koda and friends. Rupert spent some time tagging along after them when Koda and Justice ended up on the picnic table. Rupert got half on the table so he could better look Koda over. Once Koda got off the table, he turned to Rupert and asked him to play. I don't think Rupert was quite expecting that, but he soon got into the mood and the two of them had a blast wrestling and running around together.

Bruno had such a fun time at daycare today. Not too long after he arrived here, it was time to go outside for his first group outing. Bruno went outside with a wonderfully playful group, which he really enjoyed. When he got outside, Bruno gave everyone a sniff before running around the yard to see what all had changed since he was last here. After sniffing around, Bruno rolled around on his back rubbing his face around in the cold snow, but his pals Vega, Krovo and Nyxx soon interrupted him for a game of chase me. As the four of them chased each other around the yard, Bruno ran around barking at his pals to show them just how excited he was. As they all ran around some more, Bruno went off on his own to run around the yard in search of a ball, but when he came up empty handed he came over to me for some cuddles and kisses before it was time to go back inside.

Boston is having such a fun stay with us. For his extra attention this morning we spent some time in the reception with Susan and Tayler. When I got him from his kennel, Boston ran up the hallway as fast as he could, excited to get to spend some special time with us. When we got to the front, Boston ran over to Susan behind the desk to say hello to her, then over to Tayler to see what she was up to. After saying hi to everyone, Boston and I spent some time doing basic commands such as sit, lie down, give a paw and spin for some treats. After giving him some treats and cuddles and pets,  I brought the toy box over to Boston to see if there was anything that would interest him in the box. However, he opted for some cuddle time on the chair instead. After cuddling for a good long time, I took Boston outside to sniff around and explore in the fresh snow, which he loved. For his group today, Boston was in the mood to expore and spent most of his time sniffing around in the yard, but he did stop a few times to engage with his friends in some fun play time. After playing around for a bit, Boston came over for some pets and kisses before it was time to go back inside.

Rupert is such a fantastic dog. For his extra attention this morning, Rupert and I spent some time in the front playroom. When I got him from his kennel, Rupert ran to the playroom as fast as he could, excited to spent some time with me. After we got up there, I ran to the toy box to find him a ball and we played fetch for a few minutes. When I first threw the ball for Rupert, it took him a few tries for him to drop the ball so that I could throw it for him, but once he got the hang of it we were set. After playing fetch for quite some time I decided to work on some basic commands in return for treats, which he loves to do. Before it was time for him to go back to his kennel, Rupert and I went outside for a few minutes to sniff around in the snow.

For their group today, Fez and Rex were so happy to spend some time together, but also to spend some time with their best pals. When the boys got outside, Fez skipped saying hi to everyone and went straight to sniffing around, while Rex took a few minutes to make sure that he said hello to everyone. After saying hi to everyone, Rex took off around the yard with his best friend Gryphon on his tail while Fez sniffed around in the snow. As the boys ran around the yard, Rex spotted his best pal Tianbo and the two of them took off together, leaving Gryphon in the dust. As the pair chased each other around the yard, Fez decided to join in on some tackling and wrestling as well as Dragon and Gryphon. As they all played around in the snow, Fez slowly wandered over to me for some cuddles while we sat and watched Rex play around with everyone before it was time to go back inside.

For their walk this morning I decided to take Dragon and Gryphon on the front field path, which proved to be much more fun for them. As we walked along, the boys stopped to watch our neighbor loading a horse into a horse trailer, which really seemed to interest them, but as soon as they could no longer see the horse they moved along. Near the end of the walk the boys started to play around as we got close to the building, as if they knew it was time to go back inside. For their group today, Dragon and Gryphon had so much fun. As soon as they got outside, the boys let out a few woofs as they ran around the yard saying hello to everyone, before they parted way. For most of the group, Dragon kept to himself sniffing around and exploring in the yard while he watched Gryphon play around with their pals. Before it was time to go back inside, Dragon made sure to go over to play with everyone for a bit while Gryphon took a break to sniff around.
Dragon and Gryphon were so excited when it came time for their extra attention. They went bouncing up to the front playroom. As soon as Dragon and Gryphon got in there they went running around seeing what all they could find. Since all the toys were in the toy bin, I went over to grab some things. The first toy I pulled out immediately caught Gryphon's attention. I gave it a toss and he went bouncing after it. Gryphon pounced on it and snatched the toy up. He then came bouncing back to show it to me, but wouldn't give it over for another toss. Dragon was still looking at me expectantly wanting a toy of his own. I found a kong and gave it a toss. Dragon went to go after it when Gryphon left his toy to go and pounce on the kong. Gryphon liked the kong so much that he settled down to chew on it. Dragon decided to make his way over to his brother and lay down next to him and stared at him trying to get him to give up the toy. I managed to get the toy away from the them and soon we had a good game of fetch going, though Gryphon still wasn't the best about bringing it back. When Gryphon took the kong hostage once more I went back to the toy bin and found a bigger kong. Dragon was pretty happy about this and tried to steal it away. Gryphon noticed this and went running over to see about stealing it for himself. Eventually they were all toyed out and were ready for some pets and attention.
