Max and Sadie were so excited to head outside for their group time. They both went charging out the door and immediately went bounding through the snow. After putting fresh tracks all around the yard Max and Sadie decided to take some time to shove their faces in the snow and do some exploring. The two of them split up to check out their own things. Both were very intent in their search. At one point Max and Sadie looked up and met each other's gaze. About two seconds after that they were off racing around yard as Max went chasing after Sadie. They went tearing around the yard at top speeds managing to avoid wiping out for the most part. Soon they took a break from running to start wrestling and rolling around in the snow. Sadie then whacked Max in the head and took off running once more. Max was quick to go chasing after her. It wasn't long before the tables were turned and Sadie was chasing after Max. Sometime in the next few minutes they went back to wrestling. Max eventually needed a bit of a break and decided to go do some more exploring. Sadie then turned her attention to a ball she found in the snow.
Fez and Rex had an awesome day with us today! Rex started his day this morning on an exhilarating walk with Tayler, Muggins and Syrus. Throughout their walk, Rex spent his time hopping through the snow and playing around with his pals. Near the end of the walk Rex made sure to take a dive headfirst into the snow and roll around for a bit. When he got back to his kennel, Rex took some time to have a little rest before his first big group outing. For groups, Rex got to spend time with a big group as well as a smaller group of Fez and Mocha. For his big group, Rex spent lots of time with his doggie pals Sophie, Duke and Justice, as well as his human friend Megan. Throughout the group Rex stopped every 5 or so minutes to roll around in the fresh powder, as well as dig around in old holes. I think it’s safe to say that Rex quite enjoyed himself. For his second group, Rex spent some time sniffing around the yard, and enticing Fez to play with him until he realized that Mocha wanted to play. Although the two didn’t chase each other they did spend some time sniffing each other and barking hello to each other. Fez spent his time sniffing around the yard, until he saw Rex rolling around in the snow and he went over to join him. After rolling around Fez decided to lie in the snow until it was time to go back inside.
Duke is having a blast with us. Duke started his day off with a long, snowy walk through the back trail. Duke spent his walk galloping through the snow, digging for snow buried sticks and playing around with his pals. Before the end of his walk, Duke spent some time rolling around in the snow. When he got back to his kennel, he curled up on his cot until it was time for his group to go outside. When it was time to go outside, Duke’s ears perked up when I said lets go, and he bolted out the door as fast as he could. As soon as he got outside he ran to the fence line to sniff around for a few minutes. After sniffing around, Duke came over to me and we spent some time cuddled up under the shelter of the fence. After we spent some time cuddling, Duke ran over to Rex and the two played for a few minutes before he got some more cuddles from his human pal Megan. After getting lots of cuddles Duke and his group went back inside to their warm kennels. For Duke's extra attention today, we spent some time in the reception with Susan. To start off his extra attention, we spent some time sniffing around the reception, and saying hello to Susan. After giving everything a good sniff, Duke decided to spend some time looking out the windows at the beautiful snow in the front door. After letting Duke wander around for a bit I called him over to me to give him a few of his lamb treats, I think they are his favourite! After giving him a few more treats, Duke and I spent some time cuddling in the office, while he watched Resa and Julie head to the back for their group. When it was time to go back to his kennel, Duke was thrilled to get to have another nap, after I gave him some more treats.
Tenya is such a fun dog. She started her day off with a nice walk through the back trail; I think she was very thankful for her warm parka to keep her nice and warm in the snow. Throughout her walk, Tenya and Eric plowed through the snow as if it wasn’t even there. Tenya made sure to stop a few times to dig around in the snow and have a quick roll around. When she got back inside, Eric made sure to take off her wet coat so that she could have a warm, dry nap before it was time to go back outside. For her groups today, Tenya got to spend some time with her pals Julie, Resa, Kouza and Jasper. Although Tenya didn’t socialize much today she did make sure to spent her time in the yard digging around in the snow. Before it was time to go back inside, Tenya and I cuddled for a few minutes.
Kouza is such a wonderful girl. For her walk this morning she spent her time with Eric and Jasper on the snowy back trail. As they all walked along Kouza spent lots of time sniffing around in the snow, she even tried a few nibbles as they walked through it. While Kouza ate the snow she made a very funny face as if she didn’t know it was cold, needless to say it was adorable. When she got back from her walk Eric gave her a piece of cucumber and a carrot for being such a good girl. For her groups today, Kouza spent her time with her pals Julie, Resa, Jasper and Tenya. As she sniffed around something in the snow caught her nose and she took some time to dig it out and grab it for me. As she showed me the ball she found I threw it around the yard for her a few times before she asked me to let her back inside. After we got back inside, Kouza cuddled up in her bed before it was time to go back outside. For Kouza's extra attention today we spent some time in the reception with Susan and Adam. Adam played with Kouza for a few minutes and gave her some pets while I went to get her treats! After Adam left, I gave Kouza some treats as she showed me how well she can sit, come, lie down, and give a paw. She is definitely a very smart pooch. After showing me all her cool tricks, Kouza spent some time sniffing around the front while I threw some toys for her; although she wasn't interested in playing around, she did give them all a thorough sniff before she went back to sniffing around. Before it was time for her to go back to her kennel, Kouza and I spent some time cuddling and I gave her a few more treats.
