One of the cats left from the cattery today so it is just Daisy and Strider in the room. I figured since Strider keeps to himself I could let the two out together. Daisy wasn't too sure of this arrangement at first as she tends to like being the queen of the room, getting it all to herself. Strider said a quick hello and realized Daisy didn't want to socialize so as per usual found himself a quiet part of the room to curl up and have a snooze. Daisy went to the window to gaze outside, I'm sure she is glad she gets to stay inside from all the mud. Her doggie brother Finnigan on the other hand absolutely loves the mud and couldn't hope for better day to splash around in it. Meanwhile Daisy kept herself warm and dry inside. She enjoyed some cuddles from me, and seemed to like bugging Strider a little bit. I left her alone for the rest of the afternoon to go about her day as she pleased.

Max and Sadie were quite the playful pair this morning, but who am I kidding, when are they not playful! The wrestling match began when Max ran over to Sadie and jumped up on her back in usual fashion. Sadie thought, can I just get a minute to myself? Actually, she didn’t mind the invite to play; in fact, she always encourages it from her silly bigger brother. The rest of their morning was spent running back and forth, up and down, in between and all around the yard! Their attention was finally broken when Leah came out into the yard and they ran over to her with their tails perked right up and ears flattened with excitement. Poor Leah didn’t stand a chance against the hugs and kisses that they were about to embrace her with!

Zoe was thrilled to see her best pal Finnigan out in the yard this morning and wasted no time getting straight into play mode. Luckily for Finn and Zoe, they had plenty of playful pups to keep them entertained all morning long including Pippin the Golden and a new face to the group named Taos. Well Zoe just had a blast chasing Taos around the yard and even more fun trying to keep up with speed demon herself Muggins! Finn had so many friends around this morning that he didn’t even have much time to play with his favourite toys! Pippin was much more interesting and proved to be a good wrestling partner for Finn as they rolled around in the grass. It was such a fun and playful group that I could hardly keep up with the bunch and of course they had no interest in me. When it was time to go back inside, Finn taught newcomer Taos how to play dead to avoid going inside; what a little trickster!

Boris and Tasha made it just in time this morning for their morning trail walk but it wasn’t long before they were outside with their pals enjoying the rare appearance of the sun! Tasha was so happy to see that her new-found friend Teddy P was still here and standing right in front of her ready to play! They had such a good time wrestling last time and were ready to do it all over again. With a nudge to her side from Teddy and Tasha was ready to go! But it wasn’t long before she was enticed away to her brother Boris who also made a new friend in the yard this morning named Gunnar. Boris and Gunnar couldn’t keep their paws off of one another; these two frisky boys share similar personalities and had a blast running their energy out together alongside resident husky Justice. With these three boys rolling around, I had to make sure I didn’t get in the way as they zoomed around the yard just as boys do best.

Gunnar is always full of such great energy but he was especially beaming today since Boris was around and as you can imagine his notorious smile was even bigger if that was possible! Much like Gunnar, Max P was thoroughly enjoying his time outside, especially in that glimpse of sunshine we had. Max is such a happy boy and gets along great with just about everyone he meets. Today he joined in a few rounds of play with Gunnar and Boris but then thought they were way too hard to keep up with, so he decided to stay back with me and watch with amusement and get a few extra head rubs of course! Charlie was off in his usual world of his own and that world of his includes the word FETCH. You can always predict exactly what Charlie’s routine it; collect all the balls, drop them at your feet then look up at you with the sweetest smile and wait patiently until you throw it for him. Charlie sure kept me busy this morning as we played fetch all morning long while taking pictures of the others; the perfect sidekick to have!

George and Titan were quite the cuddle bugs this morning; after exploring the yard, Titan ran over to me when I called his name. He had his usual curious face on with those big bright eyes of his wondering what I needed his attention for. Once he realized I only wanted to cuddle, he took a seat right beside my feet and nuzzled close beside me as I massaged his silky ears. Well this got the attention of George and he thought he better make his way over so he could get the same attention. George then kicked Titan out of the way and took his spot by my feet for his ear rubs. You can really tell these two are getting used to their extra attention time and demand it all the time but who could resist! George and Titan are such sweet boys and we all love to spend extra time with them. Today they joined me up in the reception area. They seem to enjoy changing it up between the playroom and the front, that way their is always something new to explore. We started off with a few treats to each of them. Titan was being a bit grabby so I worked on him being gentle once I told him a few times he seems to suddenly remember that we don't grab treats from fingers. George loves to sniff and root around in the toy bin. I scattered some toy on the ground for him and he busied himself by sniffing each and every single toy over very thoroughly. Titan was more interested in some cuddles and joined me on the chair. I gave him a good ear rub, which caused him to have a big SNEEZE! Silly boy. They both continued to explore the room and come back over to me for a head pat before doing more exploring. Towards the end of our time together they settled down by the door knowing it was time to head back to their kennel for a rest.

Another two of our favourite brothers Dragon and Gryphon joined Titan and George out there on this beautiful morning. Much like Titan and George, Dragon and Gryph wanted all the love they could get but I think they forget just how big they are and nearly took me down with their hugs alone! Although big, they are two of the gentlest pups around and are basically life sized teddy-bears. Gryphon really enjoyed some play-time with good friend Cassy while Dragon made sure to stick close to my side in case I decided to hand out free head rubs again. When these two aren’t demanding love, they can usually be seen side by side running laps around the yard. They are two of the best friends around and really keep each other company and entertained all day long. Dragon and Gryphon really thrive off their extra attention. Today we changed it up a bit and went into the reception area rather than the playroom. They were pretty excited to check out the room and all the different toys. Dragon planted himself right in front of me for cuddles while he twisted his head back towards me smiling. I found a chew bone and tossed it to Gryphon who prefers to spend his extra attention time relaxing. He grabbed the bone between his paws and chewed away at it for awhile. He got up to explore around the room and say hello to Julie. While he wasn't watching Dragon snatched up the chew bone and had his turn gnawing on it. Both boys soon settled down at my feet and enjoyed the rest of their time upfront getting scratches and cuddles.
